Green Motion - Leicester

I spent some time online looking at other Green Motion- Leicester reviews and consistently the…read moreLeicester company was reviled for a host of bad services, dishonest arrangements, and sheer lack of genuine customer care. My personal experiences with Green Motion involve two occasions: June 2022 and January 2023. Regarding the June situation, Green Motion failed to have the economy or compact sedan which was reserved many weeks prior to pick-up. Instead the company tried to foist a VERY LARGE commerical van as a suitable vehicle replacement. I didn't feel comfortable driving something that large with blind spots on British roads and a steering wheel on the right side. So the day's planning was aborted and I cancelled the booking which was prepaid. The January incident was far more damning. My girlfriend and I drove away in a Mini Cooper. We were not clearly informed that the car was at 1/4 fuel; in the U.S. all rentals come with a full tank. Green Motion knew that we were driving to Oxford for an overnight stay. A few miles from Oxford after 90 minutes of driving, we ran out of fuel on M40 and was lucky enough to get to the highway shoulder. This was harrowing. We had two forms of roadside assistance (BMW/Mini Cooper & a separate company "RAC" paid by Green Motion). We began with BMW assistance calling via the car's computer and were told there would be a 90 minute wait. We called Green Motion next and were directed to try RAC. RAC told us the wait was 45 minutes. We cancelled BMW assistance to avoid double services. RAC arrived over 3 HOURS later, despite our frequent follow up calls. Our location was dangerous and it was raining in winter - making being outside the car dearly uncomfortable. Moreover, my girlfriend had lung surgery weeks ago and needed water for medication. We had no water in the car. After getting gas from RAC, we filled up immediately 2 miles away. Upon returning the Mini Cooper, Green Motion detected minor chipping on one wheel hub and socked us with $850 surcharge. The Mini Cooper had many scratches around the body, which was noted by the rental rep upon delivery. I didn't check the wheel hubs and don't know the prior condition. I have to assume then that Green Motion bills clients for cosmetic damages but never gets around to repairing said damages. Green Motion suggested I go after the credit card company to find reimbursement for the $850 charge. While I await the credit card company response to my claim, I'm furious also that Green Motion gave NO CREDIT for a 3/4 tank of gas and no apology for how we were stranded on M40 for three hours. This would be $50 courtesy; after all Green Motion is getting the benefit of a car stranded and retanked for safety! Again, I have to assume that Green Motion has some cognition that Americans in U.K. may believe car rentals have a full tank and therefore there would be a little more emphasis on the fuel status upon leaving the rental lot. In short, Green Motion is a car rental firm from Hell and they deserve a boycott for a dozen brutal years. They are in the game for short term profits and no customer loyalty whatsoever.

Do not rent from this branch ! The prices are tempting but the poor vehicle maintenance and…read morecustomer service are not worth it !! You will be sorry for both the aggravation and the unfair extra charges.

Guess who had £431.00 taken from their card a few days after returning the van ? The man who pointed out the scratches to me has suddenly lost all memory of the conversation. The van already had 23 dents logged and were still there. So 23 people lost money but no repairs done. My Advise is stay away as they will find something to charge you for !!!!

DISGUSTED! NEVER AGAIN…read more My work colleague at Santander Carlton Park Leicester Hired a car on the 26/11/2015. On this day she drove the vehicle with me and 2 other colleagues to our Bletchly training centre in Milton Keynes. I was a back-seat passenger both ways. The following day (27/11/2015) I had got in contact with the Leicester Branch at LE1 3QD. I had asked if I had accidentally put my keys in the thrifty car hire envelope with the car hire keys, as I had hired a car on the 25/11/2015 and left the envelope with Santander Carlton Park Reception, which Thrifty had problems collecting. They had said no. I asked if they could have a look in the car my colleague hired on the 26/11/2015, and was advised nothing has shown up and they would take a look. I was either contacted by, or contacted Thrifty again, and they said they had a thorough search and could not locate them. Since then, my car had been kept at work from the 26/11/2015 until 07/01/2015 (42 days). This has caused me lots of inconvenience and stress. I have had to buy new flat keys, and have been without a car since then. I have since then bought a new car and have got this insured separately with road tax. You may simply ask why I didn't buy a new set of keys, but I shouldn't of had to, especially if somebody had searched properly and provided my keys back to me the following day. 42 days later, Thrifty calls my colleague on the 07/01/2015 and advise her they have found lost keys. My colleague messages me & states that they were found in the glove box. I am absolutely appalled and disgusted. For one, I was in the back seats of the car and did not even enter the front area of the car, so I do not know how the keys got in the glove box. Secondly, I am shocked that since the last 42 days, if the car was hired again since then and returned, that the people who clean the car and look for lost items/belonging did not find my keys. Thirdly, that when Thrifty told me they 'searched thoroughly' they did not find my bulky keys. A thorough search does not take make apart from looking under seats, in car door storage areas, and in the glove box. I will not be using this service again and will discourage all from using it as clearly some people cannot do the most simplest of jobs, and are only good at lying. Thrifty also did a bad job at collecting my own hire car keys from me as they were re-directed to Santander reception as first delivery had failed, and I had advised I would leave them there to be picked up. Thrifty however upon picking the car up and knocking at my home address whilst I was at work, were unable to take the car and charged a fee. If I had already stated the keys were at reception, it's simple logic that you'd go and get the keys first, then go to get the car (which I did not state was at work, and would mean that it was left to be collected at the place it was originally dropped off).
