Last night Cole, Allen and I had the honor to visit the Powhatan Moose Lodge. It was an interesting night out this was our first time to a moose lodge and we had fun learning about how the loyal order of the moose works. I expected a dated dimly lit lodge with members wearing big moose hats in reminiscence of the era Flintstones or Honeymooners. It was quite the opposite. I was a busy, family friendly, well lit establishment that looked like it had been recently remodeled. I'm reluctant to say that there were no moose hats. We brought in our own bottle and bought soda chaser at $2 a cup which was extremely reasonable. The food menus looked reasonable and the food looked good. It was late and we had already eaten. We did play a shuffleboard game which was loads of fun the game. It looked brand new and Alen and I won. We beat Cole 13 to 11. We were surprised how much was going on. There was a cornhole tournament happening in one of the other rooms, live music, pool table and casino slot machines. The guitar player was really getting into his set and I thought he was excellent. We had a great experience for a Friday night in Powhatan and would would definitely visit again. read more
