JL.L. "Tradesman services" Crescent City, FL Josh,…read more All proposals come from the office. They emailed everything requested until you changed the quote not knowing what the customer wanted. They were working on that one. The "other guy' was "The Awning Man", the company that professionally cleans awnings that you requested. While on site, the owner of "Miss D's Quilts" (fabulous shop in Palatka) came out to greet them and asked for the proposal to be sent to her. They cordially obliged. Based on your company's reviews there are issues, we all have them, yet I don't understand the anger over not being able to pad the sweet lady's bill for only a referral. And toward the wrong company. Thompson Awning is a professional shop supporting many young people and their families. But to try and discredit them over $40 or $50 you feel you missed out on is not professional. We value our employees and believe they should be treated accordingly. This is my personal, unofficial opinion, yet with that said, we appreciate your service to our country. Good luck to you.

She explained she wanted the owner to call me directly and I agreed. That's where the good started and ended. The owner calls me up and didn't want to address anything that happened. His words were "water under the bridge." Which told me he had no intention on resolving what his his unethical employees were doing. The crazy part is the only one who seemed to care about what had took place was his office manager. She told me she knew Dan had been doing this for years and she's tried to have him removed, but the owner seems to protect these sleazy people. I hope she finds somewhere else to work where they actually care about their customers as much as she seemed to. I stand by my original review. Stay far away from these people if you're a contractor or any other business needing some kind of sub work. They will go behind your back and try to steal a job from under you. If the service is this bad before even getting to the actual process of making order I can only imagine how well that would turn out for you. You've been warned. Pay attention o the other reviews from years past as those issues still seem to be an issue with this company. I'm a contractor and called these guys to come give a bid. First guy, Dan shows up and takes some measurements. He says he needs another guy to come out a bid removal and repairs of awnings. So I wait and the next thing I know my client is calling me to tell me the second guy is bringing her an estimate for my job. So I text this Dan guy and ask why the other guy is going directly to my client with what I'm hiring them to do. He reads my texts and doesn't respond for a few days. So I give him a call. I ask him why they're going to my client when I'm the one hiring them for my job. He cops an attitude and acts like I'm the one who did something wrong like them being undermining wasn't a big deal. Skip forward to the original estimate that got the ball rolling and I still don't have the estimate for several jobs I was promised. As a contractor if I did this to someone I would loose work and future jobs. These people are unethical and even get back to you in a timely manner. The Estimator, Dan is going to get this company sued. Stay away from these guys and go with a more reputable company. You'll pay a little more and not have to worry about getting screwed over. If it's this bad and I haven't even spent any money yet I can only imagine what it would be if and when they ever did any work. You get what you pay for

I found this company by flipping through the Money Pages. Called and was able to set up an estimate…read morequicker than the other two companies I called. Like most companies I've had the normal our work is backed by x amount of time, been in business for decades, we are licensed and insured, etc when they come out. Now for the estimate. I was quoted $2,000 something, but for some reason I was given a discount which brought my cost to a little above $1,500. Not sure what I did to warrant the discount, but hey I'll take it. I needed some time to talk it over with my wife and I thought that $1,500 was fair. Hey - I know nothing about gutter material and labor cost. Any who. I called the person that did the estimate and told them we were thinking about getting started and they sent over a contract via email to sign, but we had another estimate the following day so I decided to wait to see how much they would charge. The company that came out the next day not only was going to do more work than gutter cap, but their warranty for the material was 3 years, instead of 2. Their estimate was $500 for the WHOLE job. THREE TIMES LESS. That's insane!!!! The third company came out to do their estimate and guess what? Their estimate was around where company 2 came in. Do yourself a favor and get multiple estimates because you will be VERY surprised what some people are trying to charge these days. I can't speak on Gutter Helmer's workmanship, but I can say that the other company that I am going with has better reviews and is 3X less. I should be alright.

Robert the instal rep for my retractable screen was very knowledgable and answered all my questions.
