While NMAH is not our usual vet--primarily due to distance and the fact that our dog hates being in…read morethe car--we use them about once a quarter, either for second opinions or urgent care visits. I appreciate that they offer later hours on weeknights, and they ALWAYS fit us in, even if it's close to closing time. That's usually when our dog seems to have issues, too, when our usual vet is already closed. No matter who we have seen--or at what time--we have received exceptional care at NMAH. So far, we've seen Dr. David James, Dr. Paul Kritzinger, Dr. Schaff (now retired), Dr. Kimberly Renehan, Dr. Rachel Spickler, Dr. Katie Blackard, and Dr. Anna Shaffer. The doctors are extremely thorough, and we always leave feeling like JoJo has been well cared for. They are also great about emailing us visit summaries and aftercare instructions, and they share details of our visits with our usual vet to ensure communication of her treatment plans. Even NMAH's technicians and front desk staff are wonderful. Everyone is just so warm and compassionate, and they understand the urgency of our situations. We highly recommend NMAH!

I have been to 3 so far; the first two were nice, but didnt particularly stand out. Fortunately, Dr Holland did at North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital. I have brought in 2 of my cats so far, and each time Dr Holland has been great with them, and has researched info on medications and options with specialists both for my cats with FIP and with eye issues; both visits, he was understanding about pricing concerns and gave options that I felt were fair and helpful, including thorough emails with additional info and follow up. The office is impeccably clean and the staff very kind. I have passed his info on to the rest of the family, and finally feel that we've found our new vet.

We have used Urgent Vet about half a dozen times for our 3 dogs. It is easy to book a slot online…read more The confirmation email, estimates, vet records and final bill are all processed and sent in a thorough automated like manner. One time they called ahead to an ER for our pet as they wanted them to know we were coming in with certain conditions. The emergency room was prepared and briefed before we arrived We use this in cases they we are not sure if it is severe enough to warrant an emergency room visit. The vet hospitals we use say this can be used as sort of a faster triage since vet hospitals can have a longer wait with running on triage and handling some very severe time sensitive cases. There have been visits where we have been given a treatment and sent on the way home. Other times we have been referred to an emergency vet center like CARE. Showing them below for reference. Came in with dog that had a lump in her mouth - referred to CARE it was melanoma. They did do x rays of the lungs to help speed up her intake at CARE. Our dog vomited we went. While there blood started coming from her mouth. They gave her an anti nausea so we could make the longer drive to CARE as she had pneumonia and had to be admitted to the hospital for a couple days. Blood in a dog's eye - On site they were able to check her retina, and did a stain to check I think if there was anything more concerning/severe. The tests all came back clear, they think she popped a vein at the groomer and sent us home with an eye ointment and instructions. They do have wifi for pet parents. Water and some snacks on the far end of the waiting area. The wait can vary depending on how many cases they have and their severity. If anything escalates while there i.e. dog went from throwing up to drooling blood just let them know and a vet tech and vet if needed will pop in. One of the most helpful things for hospitals it to take videos or photos when safe and able of what occured or they did. It can help with the assessment if your fur baby is not doing it at the time of arrival at the Urgent Vet. Would absolutely recommend and I am sure we will use again. This gives our pets relief on minor issues when our vet is not open and the injury doesn't appear to be life threatening.

They charged me more than $600 for bloodwork plus a visit fee, which I expected, with no diagnosis. After an hour my bill for nothing but bloodwork was $900. Long story short, this place is a sham, no ultrasound machine and all they seem to care about is charging you a lot of money for sub-par care. My dog died the next night from a grand mal seizure at the Denver er animal hospital. They were amazing.

Coming from someone who was paying less at different clinic for care by a team that I thought had the best options/delivery of care for my dog (Moose)... I will tell you two things: 1. The cost is not too high when compared to the thorough care that you receive here. They are great at explaining and providing the best comprehensive treatment. You get what you pay in all corners of healthcare it seems. You pay for the best here. 2. The team is so great. They are kind and extremely hardworking. The out front staff are so welcoming. The staff in the back (including the veterinarians) are kind, thorough, and communicate every step of the way. I have been extremely thankful for them - especially in a time where my dog had recently been misdiagnosed by another facility. They love their patients and I appreciate that so much! Thank you, Hambright!

And there are literally 20 other vets within a 10 mile radius, so I've had choices. Today I called, in tears, with a terrible situation on my hands. Instead of the caring help I expected, I was told by the office manager to call somewhere else, and good luck. I'm glad my years of loyalty come so rewarded. Sobbing, I hung up the call. I've never felt more alone. I luckily found the compassion I needed, on what can only be described as one of the hardest days of my life, from my very next call. I explained my situation, as best I could through my tears, expecting from my last call, I would need to beg for this woman to help me. And she said "stop right there, can you go ahead and bring her in now? Of course we can help you". Making it quite obvious that the previous facility I called COULD have helped me, they just didn't want to... I will NEVER bring my animals here again. And I won't rest until everyone I love knows how my baby and I were treated at our most desperate time of need. You are terrible people. I don't know how you sleep at night. I'll sign off with this, GOOD LUCK TO YOU. I hear it's rather HOT in hell...
