I would have to say this law firm isn't worth the money you are charged due to the fact that paralegals do a very poor job while Ruby collects money after making promises that she will use her connections in immigration to get the paperwork done quickly. Don't fall for the lies, The I-130 took two submissions because the paperwork was submitted without the payment or the photos and USCIS sent a letter to her office and I was kept in the dark by this mistake. Also, I was told that my waiver needed to be filed in conjunction with the I-130 which the story changed to wait. When it came down to doing the DS-260 and the I-864, I did this myself since I was wasting time sending the same paperwork over and over because there's a high turnover rate in this office. When I called about the I-212 waiver, I was told to wait after the interview since it appeared that another waiver maybe required. After reading about the codes, I was certain that I was not being told the truth. I am not certain who is doing the rating but I am shocked by this firm's high review. If you are reading this I was in the same shoes you are right now. Reading all the positive reviews trying to make a decision and I regretted mine. am telling you would go in and come out confused and lose $200 of your money. Firs they would cram you in that small waiting area with two seats all the rest of the people standing and waiting. Then they would tell you they are running behind schedule. Then once you go in they would rush you out like you're a big smelly trash. All they want is that $200 for the first consultation. I DON'T RECOMMEND YOU GO THERE but if you did Good luck I hope they treat you better than they did with me. if I was able to save one person with this I would sleep good at night. read more

I went to the Law Office of Ruby Powers to get help with my husbands 601 waiver. I'm glad I found them. There are pros and cons to each and every lawyer you go to. I've had lawyers before Ruby who I basically paid just to do the paperwork I could have done myself and saved the money. Ruby and her team did her job with compassion. They went above and beyond. Checking up on our case finding ways to bring up our case when she could. She was able to humanize us and symphathized with our plight. Immigration is not an easy process, but I'm glad I found her. My husband and I hired Ruby Powers earlier this year for a I-601 waiver. While I'm somewhat pleased with her services there were issues. I was hesitant about writing this review but I feel that this review might help future clients and Ruby as well. Some of the pros is that she does everything on line, we only had to go to the office 2 times. She always responded to my email within 24hours or less. You should expect to gather a lot of documentation and make copies of everything because some documents got lost. She is also very knowledgeable in her field. One of the things I realized along this immigration process is that no one cares more about your case than yourself, so you have to be on top of everything. Some of the first issues were small things, things that were oversaw and as a result I ended up making 2 or 3 trips to UPS and pay additional delivery fees. My negative experience comes from the actual preparation and handling of the waiver package. They had 3-4wks to complete my package and had to be finished on a Friday by 12pm. That Friday came and my husband showed up by 11am but didn't end up leaving the office until 4pm. The final payment had to be made that same day and I was having trouble with pay pal. What it came down to was that she couldn't give me the package until I paid, which I can respect. By no means would I ask her to do it for free but I had hope she showed a little more compassion since this package had to be sent to UPS asap, the package wasn't finished on time, and we had always paid our fees ahead of time. After a horrible afternoon, the fees were paid and my husband barely manage to send the package on time. While my husband was waiting for them to "finish" the packet he noticed the staff was very unprofessional, there are some things you don't talk about in front of clients and they obviously don't realize or care about that. When the packet finally arrived, there were several mistakes. Some of the cover sheets were dirty, others were in the wrong place, and one of them even had a different client's name. I was also missing some information in some forms and some letters of recommendation. I was pretty upset to say the least. To top it off, when I called/email them to send me an updated version of what needed to be fixed they didn't do it until the next day, the day my flight was scheduled to leave . I had to go out of my way, find a printing place and pay for services that I had already paid for in my final payment and that would've easily been avoided. I wrote an email to express my disappointment that very day and I can't recall if they ever apologized. I paid for a service and as such I expected for it to be done right the first time. I felt I wasn't treated like a customer but more like a number. As clients we put our trust in our attorneys and their staff to do a good job and it is sad when that trust is betrayed. During my time in MX I didn't receive 1 email to see how I was doing nor did I received an update on my case. I figured out how to do the rest on my own once I found out I was approved. Out of politeness, I emailed Ruby when I was approved and when I came back home. While I do appreciate her services, I feel that there's definitely room for improvement both from her and especially from her staff. Maybe things have changed since her business has grown and she now has more staff. I definitely hope so for the sake of future clients. I also felt the fees were high, especially after talking to many other clients from other firms. If you're going to hire her, make sure to double check everything. read more
