It's a good gym... The equipment is not what you wish for when it comes to free weights, but then again Douglas is not a big town.

Strictest, but most organized and filled with the fittest people I have encountered at any gym!…read more The gym splits up into 5-6 different sections/rooms. They have a racquetball court, a giant basketball court, 1 cardio room, 1 cycling room, 1 free weight room, 1 mixed free weight/weight machines/cardio, 1 mixed cardio and weight machines, 2 crossfit areas. It will take a lil bit of time to get a hang of where everything is at, but after that, you're golden. They offer everything and more. There are rules that you're supposed to follow (no cellphone usage, dress code, etc...), but unless you're obnoxious or just outright ridiculous with what you're wearing to the gym, no one would say anything to you. Everyone is very nice and courteous. The only gym I have been to, that every single person have the courtesy to put back the weights where they got them from. You will not see any dumbbell or weight plate laying around where they're not supposed to. Best MWR gym I have been to! And best gym over all!

Over the past couple of years, I've made multiple attempts to cancel my membership due to repeated issues--employees smoking right outside the entrance, water leaking directly onto my back from the full-body massage chair, and cracked, broken, and filthy tanning beds. Despite raising these concerns multiple times and speaking directly with a general manager, nothing was ever resolved. To make matters worse, this location refused to change my billing date, even though other Planet Fitness clubs have done so without issue. Instead, I was told they'd waive the late fee every month--which never really solved the problem. The result? A mountain of returned payments and accumulated fees, all because this gym refuses to modernize its billing system or address ongoing facility and customer service issues. I haven't been in well over a year because I genuinely dread walking into this location. It's poorly managed and clearly not held to the same standards as other Planet Fitness clubs. If I ever return to Planet Fitness, it will not be to the Sierra Vista location. Very disappointing after years of loyalty.

Very happy to be part of CrossFit, this has been my third month and I've already seen several gains I never achieved through body building. Mostly due to my form or being by myself. They are great about form and teaching. I don't need to think about what to do, just show up and sweat. The experience is happening socially but you are ultimately responsible for your own workout. The coaches want to see you do it right and be performing the wod (workout of the day) for the duration of the time allotted. This may mean "scaling" or lowering the weight but this is typical and recommended to get the most out of your wod. I highly recommend that you drop in and talk to Peter or Liz (the owners) or one of the coaches. If you're looking for a change, a novice or pro, this will not disappoint.

Owner seemed professional and dedicated to providing a good service. Issue is the instructors seemed hit or miss, some very good and professional, some less so. Unfortunately, it was very noticeable, recommend an upgrade in that area with more diverse and professional staff.
