Our latest TV, a $2,200 55" Samsung Frame TV was purchased from 2001 AV in June 2021. The TV was the same price at Best Buy, however 2001 AV included an extra year of warranty (2 years total). In December 2022, we noticed a dead pixel on the screen of our Frame TV. We emailed pictures to head office and were told to expect a call. When head office called us, they said our TV wasn't under warranty, as we'd unsubscribed from an email newsletter, nullifying our extended warranty coverage(!). This is a shock to us - we were never told that we would have to subscribe to marketing blasts in order to keep our warranty coverage (obviously we would have). Attached is a picture of our receipt, showing the 1 bonus year of warranty coverage - nowhere on the receipt does it say that in order to use the extended warranty we must subscribe to a newsletter. To say we're disappointed in 2001 AV for not honouring our extended warranty is an understatement. Spent time on the phone with a rep who was no help at all and did nothing to help us.

When I inquired about upgrading the system was told that the motherboard was unlikely to fit, it would need a new processor, New memory and if my current processor didn't fit then it would negate buying a new fan. I took it back and they said they need to test it to make sure it's defective BEFORE issuing me an EXCHANGE. I even asked for the SAME item, just one that works. They then said that they have to test it and that I need to come back in 3 DAYS after they call me. This company is horrible. The staff are rude and they don't want to help you. In fact 2 other guys were in line with me, and they said that they've been back and forth with the company for 2 months trying to get their refund on a defective item as well. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Staff are very, very knowledgeable and there is always someone to assist you as soon as you walk in the store. Good location -- at the front of the Bayfield mall with lots of parking. Their prices seem expensive, but camera equipment always is and they will do a price-match with any local competition. I also usually check their website because they have some pretty awesome sales once in a while. I took their Canon Rebel series intro class a few weeks ago, which they offer a couple of times a month at their store. It is a 3 hour course for $75 and it goes over all of the basic settings for the Rebel. The instructor was very professional, knowledgeable and approachable.
