From the outside the Power Tool Centre looks like a basic garden tool and work wear shop. Inside you will find some quite specialised tools and equipment from the higher end of the market such as DeWalt, Markita (my personal favourite power tools manufacturer), Silverline, Festool, Proxxon and Stanley. They stock just about everything including a very good selection of work boots and safety equipment. The staff are helpful and know the products well. When I need a spare part or more often a repair on my power tools (not often with Makita) and garden home accessories I'm here. If you live further afield they offer a mail order service. Been to this shop many times in past 30 years Bought many tools over the years at competitive prices. Puss they have many tools in store to view which i prefers to shop online. As you can see & judge what your buying .. I have been in many times just to brows. Or pick up a small bargain whats on offer . The first time i went to this store was in 1980s to pick up a Black & Decker drill which had been repaired for lawton and Wallace . whom i was working for that time . What looked like a reputable company turned out to be a very poorly co-ordinated outfit. Ordered a product on 27th Jul, received the invoice to say it would be dispatched shortly. By 2nd Aug heard nothing so phoned the store only to be greated by a rude member of staff who clearly spoke like he didn't want to be in work. Informed me that despite my order going through, there was only one available and they couldn't find it. Apparently there was a note on the system that said the customer should be offered a refund or a different variant and that a phone call had been attempted. I had not received any phone calls or voice mails or even an email and the company were more than happy to make no attempt to contact me. The most annoying thing is that item purchased was supposed to be a gift which now means I wil no longer be able to send this as I will now not be able to purchase another from a proper reputable company in time for the birthday. The shop assistant pretty much said "we can't find it and you don't want another similar product so what do you want me to do? I'll just give ya a refund bye" and then hung up. Shocked, let down and very disappointed are only a few words that begin to describe my first and final dealing with this company. Stay well clear if you want the most basic of services. read more
