So I recently moved to Florida and was going to sell my motorcycle once I got here. A 2013 Ducati Diavel with high end exhaust and only just over 2,000 miles on it in brand new condition. I brought it in there and they really didn't want to give me anything for it. So it was originally $27,000 plus the exhaust which was another $3,200. They made up some BS as to why it wasn't worth anything and how it won't sell down here in Florida, even though everybody and their mother has drooled over it since I've been down here. It was a limited color only made that year. Anyway. As I was leaving I noticed a 2010 Can Am Spyder outside and I asked about it. They said it had just come in and was for sale. I looked at it and asked about a trade with my Ducati. They came back wanting over $4,000 additional from me. Now. The Can Am had over 57,000 miles and some flaws. I thought they where smoking way too much crack. So I was supposed to trade in a like new bike with only 2,000 miles on it for a 57,000 mile bike and still give them over $4,000? We wound up settling with an additional $2,500 out the door as I really needed to have a 3 wheel bike as I was not really wanting to ride 2 wheels anymore due to health issues. Anyway. Long story short. I rode the Can Am home (about 2.5 miles from dealership) and the front trunk didn't stay closed. I called them and they had me bring it in, and they replaced the cable, ignition, and rear lock at no charge. They where great but that's where it ends. A few other items didn't work so I called them as a concern. They had me bring it in to look at it. I got a call from service the next day and they said it would cost over $3,000 to fix the issue. I almost crapped my pants. I said no way, and that I was done with this dealership and will just sell the Can Am and take my business somewhere else. One thing I need to mention is that when I establish a good relationship with a dealership I usually wind up buying lots of bikes from them over time. One dealership back home I bought over 25 bikes, wave runners, and quads and tons more from other dealerships as well. Anyway. Back to my story. Once I told the service guy (who was super nice this) he called me back a few minutes later and said they could do a work around for $200 out the door. How did it go from over $3,000 to $200? So I said just go ahead and fix the issue. Then, once it was ready a couple days later it all the sudden jumped to $275. So when I bought it the brakes seemed to squeak as well. I had a friend who used to be a certified motorcycle technician look at it and the brake pads are almost gone, and the oil is do dark I don't think it was changed in years. So my guess with all of this is that they don't take the time to run used bikes through service to check on these things. Now not only did I give up my kick ass Ducati for this bike and have to pay an extra $2,500 but now I have to pay to get the brakes and oil done on a bike with 27 times the miles and 3 years older. If I had to do it all over again I would have just walked out with my Ducati and not dealt with them. I went to another bike place about a month ago and showed them pics of the Ducati and they said I should have not dealt with West Coast Powersports and come to them as they would have given me a much better deal. Anyway. Please note I am done with these guys and to anyone going there. Please be aware of the sales departments shady ways. Service was great but I'm super done with this dealership. I usually buy 3-4 bikes a year from a single dealership once I build a good relationship with them, but it won't be West Coast Power Sports for sure. Please also note that that they also lied to my face in sales. They said my bike is a hard sell down in this area. Funny because I did my deal around the end of the day and they put my bike out for sale the next day with an undisclosed price (wasn't listed on their website for sale), and it sold within a couple days. They didn't run the Ducati through the shop either to see if it had any safety issues. They just flip bikes without caring about customers safety, etc. Please see the pics below of my bike I traded in that was in brand new condition. Please take my advise and stay far away from this shady dealership. read more
