Iam really happy with my experience here. It was my first time as a customer and asked them to put a backup camera on my Dodddge Journey. They recommended a unit and quoted a price for the unit with installation which I found acceptable. We scheduled a date for the installation. I had decided on a unit with the monitor imbeded into the rear view mirror. Wanting to be certain I be happy wiath the end product they upgraded my mirror/monitee at a small fee. The unit had to be ordered but it arrived in tiame for my scheduled installation. When I picked up my car at first I was concerned with the glare on the mirror. We agreed I would drive iat a few days tao see if I adjusted to the glare. After a week the glre was unaccepable so they agreed to find a goodd soluition. And they did. The camera functions perfectly and I love it. I also like dealing with local businesses who stand my their product. Power Plant certainly answers to that description. This business is excellent and I would highly recommend them to anybody wanting to upgrade their vehicle stereo. They have great customer service. They scheduled an appointment to upgrade my stereo system only one week out. They quickly installed the equipment (stereo, backup camera, Sirius XM) and called me immediately once my vehicle was ready. As a business owner, I waited two months before writing this review. I scheduled an appointment to have a system installed in a Sprinter van. Including component speakers installed in front (2 door speakers and 2 tweeters in dash), two speakers installed on two rear doors, an amp, line output converter and sub. Weeks later we dropped off the van at 9 AM. I was surprised that Brian wasn't able to provide me with some pricing options while in the shop. I told him that I lived 90 minutes away would only be in town for a few hours while running errands. Didn't hear back, called back four hours later, was told he was unavailable. I trusted they'd give me reasonable pricing, so we headed home. I didn't receive a call back for another two hours and by that time I was back home. I've had amp and subs installed in other cars while living in San Diego and was shocked by the price of the labor and the components since I believe I made it clear I didn't need a high end system. That coupled with the long time to provide us with a quote, prompted us to turn right around and make a second 3 hour round trip to pick up the van that same day. Upon picking up the van, we were charged $280 for removing the two front door panels and adding my Hushmat material and running speaker wire from beneath the passenger seat to the two rear doors. Please note, we were early in renovation and no panels had to be removed to run the wires in the cargo area of the van. We were also charged $120 for 100' of 16 guage the speaker wire. I later learned that was excessive. Lesson learned. Don't authorize ANY work from this place until you receive a full and complete quotation. I addressed my frustrations with Blaine and he did respond with a long explanation and an offer to refund the overcharge for the speaker wire, but that was never done. In an attempt to resolve the situation, I took some responsibility in my response writing, "All in all, I should have done a better job initially conveying my needs to Brian and I should have just addressed my frustrations that day, but I felt it would have been futile." I expressed a desire for them to submit a revised quote, but never heard back. I opted to have the work done at another professional car audio shop. They completed the installation for 40% of the rate I was quoted by Power Plant. They installed the components I purchased elsewhere at about 50% less than the price Power Plant quoted me for similar equipment. Since then I've met two others who had a very similar experience with this shop, hence my review. read more

Power plant is a great place to go if you want stuff stolen out of your vehicle. I brought my pickup into power plant to get speakers installed and got it back with a missing floormat. When I called powerplant to ask about the floor mat they acted like I never had a floormat even though there was a passenger floor mat. I called about a dozen times trying to get my floormat back but the man at the front desk, Brian would tell me every time that he would call me right back and never once did I ever receive a call. My suggestion for anyone that goes to power plant is to take everything out of their vehicle that isn't bolted down. read more
