Went to their website, found the part number, and went to the store. I walked around the shop but didn't see it on the shelves, so I took a number and waited. Even on a really busy weekend the line moved fast. I showed the staff the part number I wanted, and he found it for me among their "massive wall with drawers full of tiny parts" at the back of the store. And just to make sure I was getting the right part, the staff even checked it against my antena which I brought with me. So 15 minutes and 15 kr later, I leave satisfied that at least I did one productive thing that day and solved the stereo problem.

He took great care of his sale even though it just was a cheaper Bluetooth loudspeaker. It says everything about HiFi Klubben. You're the customer and they will always try to find the best choice to you and your needs. In some weeks I have to return to buy my new sound system. I'm so excited. The building seems huge, with the logo of the shop covering the entire facade, but inside, the store actually only occupies the ground floor, which is dark, cramped, and not particularly inviting. They've tried splitting the place up in sections, but their divisions don't always make sense. Do I find the new Apple TV under their Apple products section, or down by the TV section? Turns out, in the TV section, except they only have the empty boxes there for display purposes, you get the actual product at the counter where you pay. Cameras in the camera section, and batteries (all kinds of batteries) there, too, but memory cards are under computers. Confusing. Service is a mixed bag. Some of the employees seem to genuinely do their best, others seem quite indifferent. Selection of goods is quite good, with most product ranges being fairly well covered. Prices are so-so. There are definitely cheaper options out there, both online and in brick-and-mortar shops, so their supposed commitment to being the cheapest is more of a marketing gimmick than a real policy. I've challenged them on it at one occasion, where I could document that I could find a given product about 15 % cheaper no more than 15 minutes from their shop, proving that they weren't the cheapest option. When I asked them if they were interested in matching the price I'd found, they said that that wasn't anything they were allowed to do. In all fairness, you'll find plenty of places that are more pricey. So all in all, a somewhat depressing shop, with a good selection, a discount feel but not bottom-dollar prices.

He figures if he goes to pickup the phone in the middle of the day on a Tuesday, he'll avoid the crowd and finally have a new phone. But NO, hell does not operate the way you wish it would. Even on a Tuesday, there is a massive crowd and even though boyfriend already ordered and paid for the phone online, he still has to join the 30 other people waiting for the ONE sales guy to pickup his phone. In the end, the phone is coming by post because neither of us can bear the thought of having to enter that store again. Maybe it's just this store, and maybe it's just the cellphone area, but it's a soul-sucking, life-draining waste of time =(

But that is not all, then there is the "Knowhow" team. Supposedly, the team that ideally would know a little more than resetting one's computer, which is used as the universal fix for all sins. Not to be too harsh, but I firmly believe that a team of untrained monkeys with the collective brain power of a doorknob, would actually do a better job at servicing customers than the "Knowhow" gang. Utter lack of professionalism complimented by the constant state of confusion will make you regret your decision of ever stepping foot into the Electric Giant's domain. She told me to go to the cashier point, where I would also need to pay for it. Off I went and assumed my place in the queue. It took a while, perhaps 20 minutes, as a couple of people before me were there to complain over problems with their orders (wrong item delivered, etc.). Finally, it was my turn and I asked for my goods. The girl behind the counter me I had to go to the appropriate department in the store, in this case Electronics. So why not tell me that in the first place?! Went to Electronics and after having stood in line again (more people with complaints) I once again asked for my order. The guy behind the counter offered his apologies, but when he had gone to pick up the order, he had found that they didn't have 5 items in stock, as I had been informed, but one, and that one was only an empty box, and as an employee apparently had stolen the product and left the empty box (memo to me: never send anything here to have it repaired!). He suggested a few alternatives, only to find that they weren't in stock either. So I had to go without being one step closer to getting what I wanted. Think I'll go somewhere else next time.

I been there twice in the last two months - once to buy a USB stick, and the other time to buy a fitness band. Both times I've been helped by knowledgeable employees and the service has been pretty efficient. Heck, I've even been callled 'Sir' when I visit - a rarity in Denmark. :) The prices are fairly low - the same fitness band I bought was significantly more expensive at humac in the same mall -, the store seems to have a big collection of stuff, and is fairly well organized. Not much to complain about, to be honest.
