The purpose of my visit was because I've been experiencing symptoms of perimenopause for the last 2 years and over the past year they've started to get worse. When I mentioned some of my symptoms to her, she completely dismissed my concerns and told me "Feeling hot all the time isn't a symptom of perimenopause." She also told me my PCP was full of for sending me to an obgyn and that I should go back to my PCP to address my concerns. The only bloodwork she ordered was to check my thyroid levels (which were normal). She used coded language to fat shame me by telling me I needed to "make lifestyle changes." She also suggested I try magnesium and get on an antidepressant, but failed to look at my medical history and see that I'm already taking an antidepressant. Do not visit this practice, especially not Ms. Johnson, if you are experiencing symptoms of perimenopause or menopause, as you will not be taken seriously.

Dr. Rutledge was my doctor during my first pregnancy, but I rarely saw her throughout my pregnancy. I was induced at 37 weeks and ultimately spent 72 hours in labor. During that time, Dr. Rutledge went out of town. After 72 hours of labor, I was told that my doctor was unavailable and that an ER doctor would be delivering my baby via C-section. Thankfully, Dr. Lucco was there for me. She had seen me for much of my pregnancy, and when I asked for her to deliver my baby, she came in even though she was not scheduled to be at the hospital to deliver a child. She came ready to serve, support me, and make sure I felt cared for during what was an incredibly difficult and vulnerable experience. I will never forget Dr. Lucco's compassion, care, and support. Her presence meant so much to me, and I still think about her to this day. Dr. Lucco is a PHENOMENAL WOMAN and a GREAT PHYSICIAN. I am forever grateful that she showed up for me when I needed someone in my corner.

Although he is only has office hrs in STL 2-3 days weekly, you can usually get in that very day you phone. In 2 yrs, I've only waited 1 time in lobby for my appt, that was 10 min. every other appt has been right on schedule. He doesn't have a nurse, you see him, Dr. Ishida, for 15 min to 30 min. however long it takes. He listens, explains, then discusses coarse of care AND gets your opinions of his choice of care, medication, cure, etc. I have to warn you, the appearance of his office may be a bit off-putting because he has paperwork and books everywhere---he is somewhat eccentric---but he is a prolific reader & writer---you'll GET it. He has an impressive resume, including a stint at educating medical students. How adorable is this: he just returned from a 2 wk trip to Japan and brought back some small souvenirs for some of his patients. ahhh He took the time to explain to me, the area he visited and how the gift represented the region and even translated the kanjis so I could share the info with my hubby. Bad news: he has recently decided not to deal with insurance companies any more (can't say I blame him). And, although I was only paying $15 co-pay to him as a general physician, I am now paying his full office rate - $65. I will continue to do so, cuz I love this doctor. DR. ISHIDA is the best doctor I've had in my entire adult life (I'm 39).

Let's be honest, no one likes going to the gynecologist. (Reason #1 why I can't give this place 5…read morestars, but I seriously considered it.) Seriously. But we do it because we're supposed to. I've been coming to OB-Gyn Associates for years, mainly because that's where my mother goes. They run quite the good office, making what could be a horrifying trip to the doctor, merely a minorly uncomfortably one. The office is located conveniently at the U Club tower across from the Galleria. The waiting room is clean, pretty, and spacious. They usually are playing some sort of women's health related TV show and there's plenty of magazines to choose from (even ones unrelated to childcare, which is nice for those of us not dealing with that aspect of life yet.) The nurses are all very professional and get you in and out very quickly. My doctor is Meera Patel and I can't say enough good things about her. (I'm sure the other doctors are great, too, but I've never seen them.) She's soft-spoken, pretty young, and non-judgmental-seeming, so she's easy to talk to and I feel comfortable asking any questions to her. She does a fabulous job of explaining what she's about to do, so that you're comfortable for the duration of the exam and know exactly what's coming. And, best of all, they operate right on time, so you're in and out as soon as possible, but they don't rush you, so you don't feel hassled and like they're shoving you out of the way. My total stay: 40 minutes from the time I pulled into the parking lot to when I was back in the car. I would definitely recommend OB-Gyn Associates and, specifically Dr. Patel, to anyone looking for a woman doctor in the St. Louis area.

The staff was very professional in every respect. The office itself is very nice and I was highly impressed with Dr. Bryan. He is gentle, spent a lot of time with me, was very thorough, and answered all my questions. I was seen numerous times in a 10 day period and each time I was treated very well by all staff I came in contact with. I ended up having to have surgery and Dr. Bryan was wonderful at the hospital. His staff made all the arrangements and everything went smoothly. This is a highly professional group of Doc's in a clean environment. If you are looking for a good Doc I would recommend Dr. Bryan or one of the others.

My experience was wonderful with every single person in the office (and I dealt with 4 different people). When I made my appointment, I was told that as a new patient the first appointment would probably last about 2 hours. But if I wanted to go online and fill in my medical history, it would shorten it by about 30 minutes (so I gladly did this). When I got to the office, I was greeting very warmly by Eileen, the receptionist. I had about 5 minutes of paperwork to do. I then only waited about 5 minutes before I was taken back for vitals. Then I went directly into a room, where Nina reviewed the information I had submitted online and asked a few more questions. She then explained the best way to contact her if needed in the future. From the time we finished, it was only about another 5 minutes before Dr. Ewing came in. She was EXTREMELY nice. She asked some additional questions related to why I was seeing her today and some more about my general health background. Her examination was thorough but gentle. Because I haven't had my annual mammogram this year, she went ahead and did a breast exam today, which was actually better than I ever received from my previous doctor. There is a LabCorp person who works right in the office, so I was able to do some bloodwork right there at the end of my appointment. All in all, I was there for exactly one hour, and it was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this Dr. and her staff!!

After doing some research in between my next appointment, I arrived with a small list of questions for her. I was stunned, she stated she did it my previous appointment, which explains the pain I felt. We never had a conversation about membrane sweeping, it was done without my consent. For this reason I wouldn't recommend this doctor. As a women's health professional, who is also I woman, you would expect better.

On several occasions his staff accepted me without an appointment because I was concerned, and Dr. Gulick was available to answer a question on Christmas Day! His office does not have four receptionists, but does have a courteous and experienced staff. Patients who give specimens are NEVER directed back to his waiting room, and I have NEVER heard test results deliverd by anyone other than a physician in private. And as a news flash for the previous reviewer, patients generally remain in the waiting room until called, even if a patient has been confirmed as entered in a new electronic medical record system. I would recommend Dr. Gulick and his associates to anyone seeking a highly skilled level of medical care.
