Great place to do a little skiing. The staff are friendly and for a small ski hill they do a nice job.

What a great idea to put a gathering space and game room above the store/office area. The group made great use. Noticed two separate sand beaches and wish we were there when the docks were out. They were just getting things out for the season so a little problem with the grill, but after a text message they showed up and addressed the issue. Lake Darling is a pretty lake and part of the chain in Alex. Brought three other couples from outside the area and they really liked the resort and activities in Alex. Hiking trail was just a block away and it gets you almost anywhere in Alex. Firewood purchased came with a little starter kit and they provided a good qty with large pieces. Property is well cared for and large space between cabin and water. Definitely would come again.

The game room was a huge hit with my kids along with the pool, sauna, and hot tub. The place was really nice, super clean, and had everything we needed. Everything we wanted to do was within a 5 minute drive - so central! We came in the middle of November and it was the perfect escape for my kids long weekend break. We were even able to see the northern lights right out our back door reflecting on the lake! Would love to come back in the summer.

I believe this is our fifth summer here. We have been to multiple family resorts, but Diamond Lake…read moreis a gem (pun intended, but true). We are here with our two daughters and four grandchildren. What makes this place special is that it's a small resort that cares about its guests and the lifetime memories that are created. The cabins vary in size: our cabin has five bedrooms, as well as two bathrooms, a good size living room, a well-stocked kitchen, and a deck facing the lake. Clearly the owners Bob and Julie have invested a lot of time, money, and expertise in continually improving the cabins, boats, swimming area, and many amenities. This is not to be taken for granted. Many resorts slide based once a returning guests ensure high occupancy. The lake is clean, and gently sloped making it great for kids. All activities (except pontoon boat rentals) are free including pedal boats, canoes, kyaks, lily pad, slide, paddle boards, safety equipment, games, volleyball, playground, and activities at the "Lodge." The cabins include an incredibly well-stocked kitchen (with high quality pots and pans), utensils, garbage bags, recycling, dish soap, dishes, etc. Each cabin has a grill that uses propane (included) or charcoal. Bob chats with each guest to ensure there are no issues and even knows the name of each kid! Julie is the plant and flower wizard, and chief bird specialist. Fifteen minutes away is Wilmer with large grocery stores, Target, and Walmart to supply all your grocery and shopping needs. Spicer is even closer, with smaller stores and a play area, Big Kahoona with miniature golf, boat rides with water guns, and a go-cart area.

Nice old-school fishing and lakeside resort with both cabins and camping spots. Bob is a friendly and easy-going host. A BIG PLUS is the new pedestrian & bicycle trail that is just a few hundred yards from the resort entrance - a safe and welcome option for a little exercise after a day of hauling in the big fish!h

No activities for kids, offered barrel rides only on the week-end. Offered snow cones x2 daily but you had to pay for them. Rates go up every year but no improvements to the cabins/grounds. For the past 4 years I told them the half bath door didn't lock. Still wasn't fixed this year! One of the bedrooms had wet carpet the entire week due to the air conditioning set up where water drained into a bucket that overflowed due to no one emptying it! Large Dogs swimming in beach swimming area when guests were swimming - this was more than 1 dog & happened several times. About 2 days into our week stay we woke up to Goose poop all over the Lily pad (if I could attach the photo I took I would) & remained like that the rest of the week. (The lily pad was faded & had a big rip/hole in it - it has been that way for 4 summers!) Office hours were 10 am to 5 pm Starting next year in 2026 said they were going "green" as a result: -cabins are expected to haul their own garbage up to trash bin behind the office. That was the last straw! Added a booking fee $20 & $40 admin fee in 2026 This year 2025 stopped exchanging towels mid-week, said if you want clean towels you have to pay extra, again due to going "green." Weeds in some of the areas of the swimming area. Didn't clean up beach daily to get rid of weeds that had washed up. Trampoline in swimming area was horrible you couldn't even bounce on it. Something was very wrong with it. Can't bring your own firewood - charge $15 for a bundle of wood that must have been wet or unseasoned it smoked so badly. if I could give it a zero I would! This was our 4th year since a Corporation bought the resort. Deb McEwen
