Was greeted by a female staff member who could not have been nicer to deal with. She took my…read morerequest and explained to me an issue and I had the piece dropped off. Drove to the rear and was met by a employee who helped me unload and again, could not have been more pleasant. A few days later got a phone call that it was ready drove over and the piece was loaded and I could not be happier, great service! ** Not cheap, but this being Montana nothing is cheap in this state, labor, products whatever it is you need you will pay for all of it at full price plus. Many places charge you a premium if you use your credit card this ( Montana ) is the only place I have ever been that does that consistently! John J Nazarian

My last experience not so much, needed a quote for a railing we built, she says I'll call you back because our phones are giving us problems. she calls me back with a quote, I understand a quote is an educated guess. We drop the railing off on a friday afternoon, no front staff. Crew was great, thou, after about a week in I call the verify cost get voice mail. No call back, after another few days i get a voice mail the project is ready to be picked up. Price is not even close, girl says, "where your written quote"? I said, "you told me over the phone"! Manager comes out tells me that is the way it is. So blew my budget and wouldnt work with me. Profit over client loyalty.

These guys are no longer back alley - they're full on legit on the Beartooth Highway. They're…read moremaking all the metal things you see around downtown Red Lodge- from the recycling bins to the trash cans along the road. These trash cans are made to be bear proof- they're virtually indestructible. The city and the county seems to have hired these guys to do a bunch of their work around this part of the state- you can see their distinctive style all over. They do that iconic Yellowstone look of silhouettes of mountainous animals like bears, elk or eagles for light fixtures or even the lowly recycling bin. They also do powder coating here! This operation is quite impressive, with the amount of metalwork that they're spinning out of this shop on Broadway, you can see their work everywhere around town! They have a showroom of a lot of their works, which is all quite reasonably priced, especially when you think about how indestructible all their work is! Not even a bear is going to mess up their stuff.

You'll see their work all around town - from the bear-proof, yet decorative, trash cans on Broadway, to the fantastic gates to the Double Ditch dog park (if you have pups you need to take them there!!), to what seems like a bazillion of the business signs in the region. Enter the shop and you'll find an eclectic mix of work - utilitarian simple pieces, complex custom designs, Montana-centric tables, repurposed/reclaimed ski benches and humor (my fave amidst the cowboy and western "Welcome" signs is the similar but contrary "Go Away" sign). Still, our favorite piece is the custom coat/clothes rack with our son's name - works perfectly in his room and will last longer than any of us. Alanna and Mick, thanks again - wonderful work!
