had dinner with a couple Canadians the night before and now I'm here wondering about the future of Canada's national food. Paul was pretty well lit and arguing that poutine is best in its natural state (province?) and that that state is not one of the fifty american ones (69 Canadian states by today's exchange rate) and I am inclined to agree: the curds were more chunk-like than I am used to and the gravy not so brown either but they're sporting a bunch of little mapleaf flags around the store so I guess that makes it authentic despite the delicate appearance of the taters and I was born in the bluegrass state so what do I know from poutine? eh? doesn't really matter in the long run because it eats good enough and besides, having ready access to Canadian style cheese wets (insert voice-over narration of a visit to Ed Debevic's in the mid 80s) is generally considered a good thing for everything except for my health and wellness (specifically my extremities and internal organs) so enjoy!! read more

Super cute little shop in a strip mall. My son loves food and when we went to the tri cities to visit family, this spot popped up on Yelp, I knew we had to stop by. We love mom and pop small business places. The owner was awesome and chatted with us about the menu. We actually had just eaten lunch but #1 son needed to try the poutine so he opted for the classic. They have many flavors and a special that rotates. Delicious crisp fries, piping hot gravy and decadent cheese curds did not disappoint. Poutine is not something you find very often here in the US; yet, I had poutine (with pork belly) at the Davenport (hotel) in Spokane earlier this week. It was good but not as good as this place partly because there are some protein choices along with add-ons. Friendly service and lots of snacks you only find in Canada - including Canadian Coke in a bottle which has a hint of maple in it, but I digress. Ordered poutine with Burnt Ends and added butter peas and mushrooms. Yummy and very filling. Right amount of fries, brisket (burnt ends), cheese curds, gravy and the add-ons. Will be back. read more

I'm a young guy, so when the staff was dismissive I didn't think too much. Then a customer with a very woke vibe, rainbow clothes, blue hair entered. No problem with that vibe. However, the staff was super friendly to them. That was pretty offensive to be treated like I'm not the clientele they want after spending $30. I can't recommend Poutine, Eh! enough. It is a perfect slice of home here in Kennewick, and is exactly what I come to expect from a high end poutinerie. They have taken a basic Canadian classic comfort food and really brought it next level with their different options (yes I've tried them all), and they have weekly specials that are always great to add to the mix. The hat trick is a great option when you want to try a little bit if everything, and the extra treats for sale add the extra je ne sais quoi! When i arrived I was greeted by staff and they were very welcoming. The owners gave me a little sample of a dessert and I couldn't believe how good it was. I ordered the classic poutine and i kept saying "oh my god" in my head.. this is legit poutine. Very authentic. The cheese curds were squeaky, perfectly melted and fresh. Having spent a little time in Canada and remembering the hearty poutine this little place next to the hotel I was staying in was serving, I had to give 'Poutine, Eh?' a shot. Am I glad I did! We, my wife and I, both got the Bavarian (Bratwurst, pretzel bites, kraut and poutine.) And I can only complain about one thing - Where the hell did it go? "You ate it you big lummox!" What? Seriously?!? I was so lost in how good it tasted and how it felt while I ate it, it literally didn't realize I had finished it. I won't get into fancy, flowery rhetoric because that would only distract from the review. What we got was hot, flavorful, and so good you can't help but get lost in the eating experience. The restaurant, too, wasn't some fancy-schmancy "pillars and gold leaf" fare. It felt like going to a neighborhood pub or diner and the folks there treat you like "one of the gang." It was definitely a feel-good home-away-from-home vibe the staff and the place gave off. If you're looking for something simple, fun, and enjoyable - 'Poutine, eh?' is absolutely a great idea for lunch or dinner. Sadly, they are overpriced for the quantity of food you get. Fun to try this restaurant as a novelty, but you're better off making poutine at home and saving a few bucks. read more

I've wanted to try poutine for years, but my first two experiences with the Canadian staple were poor imitations at best. I was beginning to think maybe I just don't like poutine, but I saw this place and decided to give it a go and I wasn't disappointed. I tried the classique and the Canuck with a side of extra gravy. I really enjoyed both! Im sure there is much better poutine out there, but for the tri, this was really good. The gravy had a strong rosemary and thyme flavor, though I fear it was most likely a mix and not made from the scratch, but it was still a solid gravy. The curds were nice and squeaky, as they should be and the fries were solid. The classique is just that, a classic. It's the perfect snack, but if you want a poutine to serve as your meal the Canuck is a better option. It's the same as the classique but adds tri tip and fried onions. The tri tip is over done for my taste and I'm pretty sure the onions came in a can but it was a good meal. I'll be back. read more
