Overall, I think this Morrisons is a solid 4 stars - large, spacious, and very clean. Atmosphere: As I mentioned, this Morrisons is well kept and very clean. Walk in, and you're met with the vegetables that have cold steam to keep them fresh and cool. It's the first time I've seen something like that... the FUTURE! There's a cafe attached to this Morrisons that's a nice place to have a small drink or a snack while shopping as well. Variety: Because if its sheer size, for the most part there is quite a lot of variety in this Morrisons, however... ~ The Asian section is incredibly lacking. The sauces are limited to soy sauce, and pre-made stir fry sauces. A bit unimpressive really if you're looking to delve into Asian cooking. I advocate that everyone tries to learn a bit of Asian cooking beyond pre-made stirfries. If the demand is up, then supermarkets in Wales would deliver. Hot Food: The hot food they have on offer is alright, but isn't amazing. The crackling they have the pork is pretty disgusting and more chewy and stuck together than crackling. --- Overall, Morrisons is a solid 4 stars - huge with lots to offer.

I'm a massively frugal person who doesn't like spending extra money on the same product, so when I walk out of ALDI with a week's worth of groceries for roundabout £10, I'm one happy camper. Atmosphere: The only major downside. The layout of ALDI is always a bit cramped, squeezed, and generally not the most pleasant of shopping experiences. Rather than the typical supermarket layouts of wide aisles and plenty of room to maneuver, you might find yourself twisting and turning your body to avoid the loads of other shoppers. Products: Another great thing about ALDI is that they always have a bunch of random international goodies hard to find in other supermarkets. Aside from that, even if you're fond of the familiar, they provide that as well. Meat prices are dirt cheap (a packet of chicken thighs went for a whole £4 cheaper than what I normally pay for at Morrison's!) with good quality cuts as well. Like I said, I always walk out with a massive haul and I've always spent pennies for it. The only bone I have to pick with ALDI is that unfortunately they haven't gotten on that online shopping / delivery bandwagon, which is disappointing because since this place is a bit far away from me. Variety: Like I said, Sainsbury's tends to be a tad bit more expensive than your other supermarkets, so in this particular location with loads of supermarkets to choose from, you'll rarely ever find a deal here. However, from what I've noticed the "International Foods" section of Sainsbury's is a LOT more varied than other supermarkets. The times I do visit Sainsbury's are when I'm craving some favourites I'm unable to find at Morrison's or Asda: - Low-Fat Mango Ice Cream (so delicious!) - Plenty of East Asian foods that aren't your usual standard boring stir-fry sauces. You have Japanese curry capsules, Thai sauces, etc. Like I said, some of these favourites weren't available at the other supermarkets I frequent, so I come to Sainsbury's for that reason. However, if you're going for generic foods that you can find anywhere else, you're better off elsewhere given how expensive Sainsbury's is.

The store does however, suffer from bad stock levels from time to time around 5pm especially the in store bakery.

I live closer to the Morrisons superstore in the same town shopping centre and because I don't have a car, my visits to Asda is occasional. However, recently I've visited again to make a big shop and it's definitely not as good as it once was. ~ Atmosphere: From what I remember, this Asda has gotten really hectic and to be honest hasn't been very good with keeping the place clean. I've seen loads of fallen items on the floor (kitchen rolls, clothes, etc). Maybe this place is now understaffed? Every time I make a visit, a good 50% of a lot of the veggie section are out of stock as well. ~ Prices: The value you get from Asda has really gone down. They used to be the best for meat shopping with constant deals on they had the most competitive prices around. Now, the deals are rare (and highly limited to certain items). I'd never thought I'd see the day when Morrisons is actually cheaper than Asda now. --- There are still some great things about this shop. It has a great selection of clothing and plenty of home essentials (what many grocery stores lack) not to mention it is open 24 hours. Value: The most surprising part about this store. Usually, whenever I come across a small independent gift shop the prices are very dear. However, Doodlebug's merchandise is relatively reasonably priced and of great quality as well. Variety: There's loads of goodies you can get from Doodlebug. I bought cute scented erasers for my little cousins. Essentially, a visit here will probably leave you wishing you were rich to buy everything. From adorable money banks, hilarious cards, to adorable stationary. If you're all out of gift ideas this Christmas, there might be something at Doodlebug to inspire you. Customer Service: The downside. The staff here had anything BUT holiday cheer and weren't very welcoming. When I went to the counter with my purchases they were not friendly at all. Just told me the price and then turned around to talk to each other. I mean I know retail jobs suck, but at least PRETEND like you have some holiday cheer. --- Overall, I quite like Doodlebug for its reasonably priced and adorable merchandise. Indeed, the whole Argos system is built around easy browsing and great prices. Therefore, this review isn't for the company as a whole because in reality, I am a huge fan. However, comparatively speaking to other branches this particular Argos fails to deliver. Atmosphere: Really what you'd expect to be honest. A basic looking shop with little to no decor, just loads of large catalogs about with all the stock. How It Works: If you've never been to an Argos shop before, you walk in, head towards one of the many catalogs and get browsing. It's all organised pretty easily and when you have the product number from the catalog of the item you want to purchase, you can punch the number into a few machines about to see if the item is in stock. If it is, fill in an order card and pay at the cash register. Then pick it up immediately from the store. I came here to have a look at some computer monitors and the problem was... nearly everything was out of stock. Not joking, pretty much every single computer monitor bar 1 was completely out of stock. Checked a few other items and stock was also limited then. As a whole, pretty frustrating. I guess I would recommend searching online instead to reserve your order because it seems that as a whole, the stock would be very limited. The Pontypool branch seems to be a bit better than this one, so if it's possible I would head over there instead.
