This may sound a bit cheap of me, but I'll guarantee one walk around Oxfam on George Street and you'll feel the same well. Well organised, with fantastic donations, Oxfam is one of my favourite charity shops in Bath. I once bought a Reiss shirt for £8 - lovely! Their bric-a-brac and music selection is equally as good here. Not only a great cause, but a perfect place to bag a bargain.

Even though this revelation was a bit disappointing, I soon got well and truly over it when I realised just how much I loved their designs. They seem to specialise in feminine subdued colours like pinks, greys and browns as well as bows and flowers. The prices are a bit more expensive than the high street (around £45 - 60 for a day dress) but their sales are phenomenal with up to 75% off. Not the best place for anyone who is a vintage junkie (they may be 'inspired' by retro, but their designs are very trendy) but there are some pretty designs on sale here.

Even though it might not be quite as good as Bristol's Park street there are two shops you should really take a look at; The Yellow Shop and Jack & Danny's. Jack & Danny's looks and smells every inch a typical retro clothing store. The shop is so jammed packed with dressed, jackets, shoes and bags that their rails literally explode onto the street outside. This is literally floor to ceiling vintage heaven. You need strong arms and a whole lot of patience to push back the clothes and discover a gem, but if you take the time you'll hopefully find something you love. The ladies who work at Jack & Danny's are perfectly pleasant, but they're there to pick out the best fashion available, not to make idle chit chat (so if friendly service is what you're after - you're better off at The Yellow Shop). The prices aren't cheap, but the clothes are quality with a leather jacket setting you back around £45.

The Yellow Shop is quite clean and modern looking, housing trendy garments for youthful hipsters, both vintage and otherwise. Jack & Danny's on the other hand, is quite an Aladin's cave, with vintage clothing, costumes and other random bits and pieces piled high up to the ceiling. There's a distinct musty smell to the place, a bit like an old loft, but that makes it a whole lot more interesting in my books. I like the idea that if you dig around for long enough you might unearth something that no-one's even seen for the last ten years. However, If you're looking for a quick and easy shopping experience, then this probably isn't the place for you.

When returned home, I contacted customer service for assistance with accessing my account and confirming receipt of my points. The representative indicated the account did not exist, I would have to wait 30-day before calling back for assistance. I waited, called back and followed the instructions provided again. On September 29th, I called back again and followed the instructions. This time I was instructed to send in a copy of the receipt. When I finally received a response, they said I would not receive the points because the purchase was made over 30-days before receiving my communication. If a company cannot provide customers with purchase rewards I cannot image they are successful with quality service in other areas. Consider another jeweler who values their customers.

This is the best 2nd hand book store I have ever been to inside the UK. The prices are pretty decent less than half price of the RRP in a lot of cases, including for almost brand new books. It's pretty fun to rummage around looking for something to read, and you feel pretty good too - I mean, it's recycling, right?! They also buy your unwanted books back from you, but be aware - they only take soft back fiction, which I discovered after hauling down my hard backs, manga books and nonfiction! Really worth a visit if you're in the area.

Voted Best Independent Bookshop, Mr B's Emporium isn't just a shop - it's an experience. My favourite thing to do of a lunch hour, is to pop along to the Bibliotherapy room at the top of the show, pick up a book, sit on the sofa and listen to the relaxing music. They also have a special booth equipped with tea, biscuits and headphones if you're looking for the ultimate in 'me time'. The shop spreads over three floors and covers a number of genres from cookbooks to psychology. These books are always sold at full price, so don't expect to get a bargain here, but you will find a carefully chosen selection of publications which you don't find on the highstreet.

It's nice and big, with a fairly decent sized car park (for the centre of Bath, anyway), so it's the best place around to get your weekly shop. There's a pretty good selection of fresh fruit and veg and a few deli/bakery counters if you're after more fresh stuff. I've always found that the place has suited my needs adequately, but be warned, if you decided to do your shopping on a Saturday or Sunday morning then expect massive queues and a lot of stress.
