They did have some good deals on milk, this wasn't any specific brand but it did seem cheaper than I've found it anywhere else, by some difference too, it was around 27% cheaper here than many nearby retailers at £0.79 for around 2 litres. The store did have a lot of empty space, it did feel clean but it felt more like a pop-up shop than anything, the doors going into the store felt old, unwelcoming and narrow. The big bulk of items were unbranded, there weren't many things worth shouting about other than the milk offer, the staff seemed disinterested and were just standing around near each other with no acknowledgement of customers. 2* - I'd come in here for milk, or perhaps a look around every now and then, but there are many better similar outlets in the area, if you're looking to go in one or even two shops, I'd give this a miss.

Bolton Market Place is the main shopping centre in Bolton town centre, it isn't too bad for a small…read moretown and they have spent time/money on improving the centre and making it nice. Retailers located here include Boots, Clarks, JD Sports, Next and Vision Express. There is a much larger selection of shops on the high street, outside of the shopping centre, but I always prefer indoor centres especially on the cold, rainy days which we get more of our fair share of in England! My favourite area of the shopping centre is "The Vaults", which is the basement of the shopping centre. They've made it look very nice, with the exposed brickwork and it is also home to restaurants including Nando's and Prezzo. There is also a cinema within the mall from, Light Cinema. More recently, the mall is being used by the Bolton GP Federation and the NHS to provide COVID-19 vaccinations, I love this idea as it is helping the local community have easy access to vaccinations in the town centre. Many empty units sadly... it is such a shame to see as this mall really does have potential. Despite being rather empty, it still has a nice feel to it and the mall security to feel safe. 3*

Football season is over for me which means Saturday's are now free again - the missus loves that - that also means I am open to be dragged around shopping centres each weekend now.. It was FA Cup final day however and luckily she does like Football so we decided instead of a trip to Manchester, we'd venture into Bolton and see what the developments were looking like. Definitely an improvement on my last visit a few month ago, and we spent just under 2 hours here on Saturday, which 5 years ago you just simply couldn't do! The 'Vaults' are open and starting to have more and more going on there, so far: Prezzo, Nandos and Great Ale are in there but Chef's Quarter and couple more offerings are in the works. The best thing about this visit was seeing the weekend markets! The market place has not had individual market stall since I was a wee kipper - so a good 15 years and it's great see them bringing back the old school approach even with the new modern building!

Inside, the selection of games was okay, yet it was nothing more than that, it was just satisfactory and I did struggle to find certain games and was given a rather rude response by a member of staff for asking for a new game she said "You're just paying for Cellophane and it's stupid if you want a new one because its more expensive with a less guarantee" - I appreciate her raising the point but as far as I'm aware the games are normally covered for a year anyway and are at most other retailers so that was a lie, and she just seemed rude and arrogant in the way she said it. It's a gift and I didn't want to give a used game as a gift, especially for just a small price difference. The store did seem quite busy, mainly with Black Friday deals going on at the time and it being close to Christmas. Sadly there were less of the games on full view here to avoid spending ages, bending down and looking for the game, which I hate, which was why I asked whether they stocked something in the first place. Overall, due to poor levels of customer service, pricing of some games where I noticed certain games around £25 more expensive or double than what it would cost elsewhere and the general stock of games and how they are set out in the store means sadly Bolton have been let down and are being given a Game store which in a way just seems poor and careless, so sadly doesn't warrant anything over a single one star.

Game has a wide range of games for all modern consoles and pc which are all neatly set out in a-z so items are easy to find. There is also a section for pre-owned games where you can get some bargains and are of good quality because game always checks the condition of disc people trade in. I have always found the game staff to be friendly and have an idea at what they are talking about when it comes to game playing.

Cex make a tidy profit from the whole shebang too, so everyone is happy. We recently came here and sold a whole bunch of games to Cex. We were offered £20, but more in store credit which we just put into buying loads of stuff that we actually wanted. It was a big win. You can sometimes find the queues are quite big, as people selling games takes a long time. So don't think you can just come in and out of here in a couple of minutes. The staff are individual, sometimes a bit odd, but always rather friendly.
