My son had a 12:45 appointment, and by 1:15, we still hadn't been called back or given any explanation for the delay. When I politely approached the front desk to ask about the situation, a receptionist who identified herself as "Ang" responded with an astonishing level of rudeness and dismissiveness, including asking me, "Have you never had to wait at a clinic?" Eventually, someone from the care team came out and apologized, explaining that a post-operative appointment had run longer than expected. I completely understand that delays happen in healthcare, but failing to communicate those delays and then treating patients disrespectfully for asking about them is unacceptable. Unfortunately, the experience only got worse. My son had previously been told he would receive follow-up information about whether surgery might be necessary. That follow-up never happened, forcing him to schedule this appointment himself. After finally being seen today, he returned to the car nearly in tears. He hadn't even seen the physician he was expecting to see, and instead was essentially told that previous treatments hadn't worked and they weren't sure what to do next. He was then told he would need to return again next week to actually see the physician, with the added warning that they would probably be running late for that appointment too. That last comment speaks volumes about an organization that apparently recognizes its scheduling problems but considers them something patients should simply accept. What should have been an appointment to get answers about a potentially serious medical decision turned into an exercise in frustration, poor communication, and questionable continuity of care. Patients deserve better, especially when they're already dealing with stressful medical circumstances. OCR needs to take a serious look at its scheduling practices, front-desk professionalism, and, most importantly, how it communicates with and cares for its patients.

As someone living with cognitive decline, she needed compassion, patience, and clear guidance. Instead, both she and my father felt unheard and shamed. Following the appointment, I repeatedly contacted the office to discuss our concerns and requested a call from the office manager. Despite multiple attempts, I never received a return call. I was told I could not contact the office manager directly or by email, and even after involving a patient advocate, there was no follow-up. I have a signed Release of Information and understand HIPAA requirements. The issue is about healthcare access, communication and accountability. Patients and families facing healthcare challenges deserve empathy, respect, and timely responses when concerns are raised. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. As a result, my mother's care has been delayed, and our family will transfer her care elsewhere.

A dear friend of mine had a back injury that other doctors were not able to successfully treat, leaving him in agony, and barely able to walk. I went online and researched looking for the best chiropractor in Fort Collins. I found dozens of reviews about Dr. Coleman all of which were 5-stars. My friend was frustrated, unable to work and in a great deal of pain. After a thorough exam, where other doctors didn't even touch him, Dr. Gil began treating my friend. I was impressed with Dr. Gil calling multiple times after hours to check on him. Impressed by observation, Dr. Gil's fierce determination to make sure his patients get well and does as he says "whatever it takes" to help them feel better. Impressed that he succeeded in eliminating my friend's terrible pain without drugs, and worked tirelessly in partnership with him to restore his well being and function. I have since placed my trust in Dr. Gil for my own health care, and referred my sister, neighbors, and my closest friends. We have all talked and found we've had similar experiences working with Dr. Gil: calls after hours, texts, and emails out of his sincere concern to check in on how we're doing. For over 10 years I had suffered from misdiagnosed "carpal tunnel" and had been told by 5 doctors that surgery was the only option. I took it upon myself to make an appointment with Gil at the Wellness Center for her, because if left up to her she would probably just "deal" with the pain. Gil was kind enough to stay an hour after normal hours to see my wife because otherwise our busy work schedules would have delayed the meeting for a couple of weeks. We were both really impressed that Gil spent a large portion of our initial visit asking us both questions to really get to the root of the problem rather than just diving in and start adjusting her blindly. He determined that the culprit is probably some form of nerve damage and we are waiting for the Xrays to be examined. I will update this review when we see more progress, but after only one visit both my wife and I feel very confident that Gil Coleman is a great chiropractor that really cares about the people that he sees and is 100% invested in "helping" them rather than just providing them a service.
