(It's close to the I-95 exit, not in downtown Biddeford.) The store's selection of fine art supplies is superb. The staff are tremendously helpful. (Yes, the store can be a little understaffed at times, but if you ask for help at the front register, someone will help you immediately. And they'll go FAR out of their way to help you find exactly what you need, answer questions, share honest opinions, and so on.) While we're staying around York (Maine), we choose the Biddeford store every time. (When we don't, we regret it.) Michael's has become one of the few remaining chain stores carrying a wide range of arts and crafts supplies, including fabrics. That's frustrating, since each store can stock a limited range of products within each niche. However, if you're around southeast Maine - or even in coastal NH - the Biddeford store is the place to shop, especially for fine art supplies. I spent a short and I mean short time looking up and down the aisles and finally decided, I was out of my league, and searched for an associate to help me. I found one and she dropped what she was working on and let me on, what I thought was a scavenger hunt. She knew exactly where to go and I followed like a lost puppy and In a short time we arrived in the correct location. They were out and she suggested I order online. Now, my visit could have simply ended there, however sensing my disappointment, she suggested an alternative. Perhaps they have something that I could use in the Cricut aisle and off we went again. She immediately identified the Cricut "chalk board" vinyl and I was delighted. You know the saying, "A happy wife, a happy life." With this in mind, why only four stars you ask? Well, their regular prices are a bit on the high end, unless you catch a sale or are lucky enough to have a coupon. The Curtainshop definitely applies purchase/return standards, but that's what prevents their store from looking like a picked over, half-empty Target display, with returns jammed into plastic bags. They also have great fabric in up to date styles if you want to make your own window treatments. They also sell rugs, pillows, furniture and soft goods for bathrooms and bedrooms. As for the custom made department, it does sound like they should be transparent up front about the 'bring your own fabric' pricing. Their 'up charge' for using customer supplied fabric is 100% standard for all fabrication departments that also sell fabric. Think about getting your car fixed. Would your repair professional be excited about or even agree to use parts you bought on discount? The role as a 'middle person' in these businesses is just part of their profit margin - otherwise they would just raise basic labor rates even more. You would pay for it somewhere. Custom made draperies are labor intensive and exorbitantly expensive EVERYWHERE . It is part of the reason drapery styles are more simplistic these days, and why I learned to sew.

So my wife explained to her that we're building a home down in Wilmington, North Carolina and we need everything we need bedroom sets we need Furniture for our living room. We need a dining room tables. We need everything and the woman immediately went too well we are a privately own store. You're gonna have to go to the factory store in North Carolina and order everything there and they can deliver it to your house. We don't do deliveries that far not knowing not knowing we weren't asking for anything anything to be delivered that we will be taking a U-Haul truck right here here from Maine And bringing our furniture that we're buying in addition to other stuff that we need to bring down to Wilmington so we said OK. This woman at West Elm was a true professional and took the time to ask questions rather than assume we wanted or expected everything delivered to Wilmington unlike the woman at La-Z-Boy. Shame on the sales rep at La-Z-Boy. I would never ever buy nothing from La-Z-Boy again for the way I was treated today and intend to share this all over social media and with all my huge network of friends.

We haven't had to interact much with the staff, because we use self checkout, however, you can see them working hard, stocking cleaning and filling orders. The location is kind of on a chaotic corner, but the store is easy to find. The parking lot has plenty of parking in the front and side of the building. The clink bottle/can return bins are always available. We have never found it to be overflowing. We don't mind shopping here when we are in the area. I never hesitate to stop if we need to.
