The furniture and decorations are beautiful, but they cannot makeup for the horrendous experience shopping here. If you shop in store, you will most likely be told they don't have what you want and to purchase it online. I did that. On Oct 16th, I purchased a buffet from the website. It was advertised as "In Stock" and "Ready to Ship" which was a selling point for me considering I needed the storage room urgently. My card was charged Nov 7th which is when the order is supposed to ship. I have now spent several hours talking to 5 different customer service agents and supervisors. It turns out this order never shipped and there was a production delay and is now backordered. I have waited 3 months and have received zero updates from anyone. I have had to call and follow up every other week because each person tells me a different story. I was told : 1. The item was shipped and at my local delivery center, there is just a delay at the dock and should be delivered in 3-5 days. This was in November 2022. 2. The item has not been shipped and the vendor has a backorder. It was supposed to ship, but then did not have enough stock, but they charged my card and now cannot do anything about that unless I cancel the order. 3. In December 2022, this item was on a seasonal promotion and was once again "in stock" and "ready to ship". I contacted customer service, they told me the website is OFTEN inaccurate and they have no control over what is advertised and whether it's true or not. 4. January 13, 2022, I am now told this has not shipped and will be coming from an international vendor and there is no timeline to receive my order, while the maximum compensation they can provide is 15% off for this "inconvenience". Would love for this to be resolved, but it really seems like PB is incapable of putting someone on the phone who knows what they are talking about. The service at this location is HORRIBLE. Nearing the end of a major remodel and now comes the fun stuff, the details. My husband and I have gone in during the week and not at a busy time. I carried a rather long list of items I wished to take home that day. Items that included nearly every single dept/area. We roamed about on two separate days. Not once were we greeted. First time we looked for about 45 minutes, zero contact. Second time, I gave them about 20 minutes and realized they were not interested in making any kind of a sale. We had just come from an event that required business attire, so I don't "think" we looked like bums. SO PB, we gave you TWO tries. Found everything we needed in Clearfork. We were actually given "service" in many of the shops and checked off most of the list. We were not the only customers treated this way. I saw several customers with arms full of items and trying to awkwardly carry them to the check out. I do not feel the prices charged in this store warrant such disregard for service. I moved to a new home a year ago and was so excited to furnish it. I have always liked PB, so I did most of my shopping there. Big Mistake! Huge! I spent north of $70,000. They could've cared less. First of all, it took almost a year to receive the merchandise. They sell things they do not even have in warehouses, which they do not tell you. Most things are on a slow boat from somewhere. Things arrived broken, several things were the wrong thing ordered. I actually custom ordered two chairs, one came in correct, and one was in a different fabric. I designed an entire space off of one rug and after ordering it three different times, it finally cancelled. I had paid over $3,000 to have some chairs recovered to match the rug. That just scratches the surface. All three of my outdoor umbrellas after just one summer of use are broken. Of course there was no warranty. I have had to speak to the store manager many times. She is always rude. They never know who I am. The designer I worked with gets back with me sometimes and sometimes she doesn't. I have spoken with customer service on numerous occasion trying to figure things out. I actually wrote a letter to corporate, and of course never heard back. I don't know what happened to PB. I am so disappointed. If you have money to spend, go elsewhere. I used to love to go in and shop and dream up spaces, now it just makes my stomach hurt. PB, do better. read more

NEVER EVER ORDER COUCHES!!!! We ordered a couch Dec 28, we're told it'd arrive around May 21, the couch arrived today July 10, nearly 7 full months later. We would never have agreed to those terms and it's very clear after reading other reviews, the quoted backlog is a bait and switch just to get you committed. The staff in the store was nice, and did everything they could, this doesn't fall on them. The manager ultimately pushed the hub to expedite delivery, but only after I spent over 15 hours of my life on hold with various customer service agents. It was t until I asked them to cancel everything that we started getting calls and responses, interesting right?!? I've never experienced such an unorganized, unfriendly, underwhelming customer service team. They're all half asleep working remote, have no access to management. They are incapable of communicating internally durning the 2.5 month long journey from Singapore to my house. So we were forced to pay for white glove, apparently white glove means 2 Hispanics with very poor English argue with my 7.5 month pregnant wife with a toddler on her hip that we paid for a porch drop off of two refrigerator boxes while I was out of town (I wasn't there bc pottery barn failed to ask us when we want delivery, they just told us that's the day and didn't offer options, and after 7 months you take what you can get). The guys told her it wouldn't fit through very reasonable normal house size doors and an open floor plan. I told the guy over the phone to take them out of the boxes and bring them inside, wouldn't you know, the guy that wasn't home and didn't work as a professional furniture mover solved their problem for them and we got waft we needed. I cannot stress enough how awful this purchasing experience was. The product itself isn't even worth discussing because we hate it due to the experience it represents. I would rather get my money back and put it in to a company worth while, pottery barn is not deserving of my money! Final update: the couch arrived, it's a nice couch, but not worth 7 month of waiting. My friend began construction on a new home in January. He's now living in that home, an entire house, in the time it took pottery barn to build a couch and ship it to me. My 1 star review will stand because every time I look at the couch I get mad at how much of my life I've wasted arguing with customer service. read more

My only feedback would be store layout, it's a little cramped in places, particularly when the store is crowded or if you have a stroller. I had to return some pillows (cheap quality-stick with Ballard Design!) I had recieved for Christmas with the original packaging and the receipt. This store conveyed that they were not able to issue a credit or return and would have to send the pillows back to corporate. I left with no pillows and no trace that they were issuing a gift card. After calling corporate they confimed this store should not have sent the pillow to them for a refund. It should have been handled in house. Honestly I just think they didn't want to get dinged on the returns. In short-For these home items-the quality is what you would expect from Target. But at Target they're at least helpful. read more

Pottery Barn is so dang expensive, for real. $55 for a pillow sham and another $20 for the actual pillow? What. However, I can't help but absolutely love this place. It's just so dreamy and lovely inside. At this time, there's a sort of colonial, sandy-beach theme going on. The space is overwhelming with imagery, so here's some rhetoric I thought up as I walked about. Maybe it'll help you picture the glory of Pottery Barn right now: crisp, fresh linen; glittering sand-dollars; bleached, rustic driftwood; metallic coral reefs; silver seashells; clean, white sheets; delicate seahorses; salt-stained lanterns; briny glass; pale blue ornaments; balmy starfish; painted seashells; sparkling waves; sea-foam candlelight; weathered wood; sun-faded frames. Doesn't that sounds pretty whimsical? A bit of whimsy is what you're in for when you roam Pottery Barn. You think that maybe one day, you can have a dining room adorned from head to toe with these treasures. While that may be unrealistic for many of us, Pottery Barn still offers something incredibly valuable; inspiration. I was at this store on Saturday and it was very crowded with Holiday shoppers. All seemed to be well taken care of by the sales staff. Sales people were attentive to customers and the atmosphere was very festive. My friend was looking for a comforter and found a beautiful one, on sale at a great price. They did not have the king shams to go with it so BK, our sales person called other stores until she found them. BK was helpful, cheerful and funny. The whole experience gave a boost to my Christmas Spirit! They were having a great sale and have beautiful things. P.S. another employee was helping a customer find a robe that was on display in the window. I don't know why this store gets such bad reviews. Yes, we love Pottery Barn. No...we often don't like the prices (pricey). However, they have those "just perfect" little items that will help spruce up any room in your home! I love to shop here, but I always spend more than I want to. Occasionally they have some really good sales (closeouts) and that's a plus. The Worst!!!!!! If you want to be accused of stealing if you have no receipt, and profiled based on your appearance this is the place for you. I was even asked what I did for a living, and told that it takes all kinds, when I was basically called a thief, by the manager and her staff who had smiles on their faces when they insult you. I tried to bring back a knotted blanket, with a Pottery Barn Tag on it that fell apart and is totally garbage!!! They even stated at another location ( Grapevine) that it is a problematic item and they have a lot of complaints yet still sell it??? knowing your are going to be stuck with this and not be able to bring it back. The first question they ask is how long you had it and after a month it cannot be returned. So basically after you wash this throw the first time you are out of luck and all that money, and they know this. At this location they give you the feeling they are above you and laugh at you knowing you are upset, they treat and speak to you like you are something stuck on the bottom of their shoes if you are not spending money or wanting to return something. Awful staff from sales floor to management. Sheryl is the manager. We ordered throws on Tuesday (11/20) 2 days before thanksgiving and all the black Friday craziness. We received a confirmation email at 8 am 11/22 to come pick up. We were about to leave to drive over an hour to this store when they call us saying they sold our item... they sold an item that we had already paid for?? Barely an apology, Sheryl was so rude, didn't even offer free shipping for all the hassle for another color of the item which was $4..... just horrible customer service. I hate giving such a bad review but, in good conscience I feel it necessary to warn people before going into this particular store. The staff was courteous but so inept. I put my first order (over 25k for new home) in March. It is September and I have had to cancel the last item that was to be delivered. 7 months waiting for an item that I was told was in stock, that was told to me that it wasn't in stock, to yes ma'am we have it in stock and we can get it to you by October 28th!!!! Really?! It's August 29th!! I ordered a mirror and rug that never showed up because it was never ordered. I received billing for items of other customers....damaged goods delivered, multiple calls to customer service. Through all of that I wasn't offered an additional discount on my massive purchase, excuses and still a disaster. What a disappointment. Pottery Barn Whitney Book Case - No way, ever again. PB lost any chance of future purchases from us when I discovered how the shelves are mounted in this book case. How did I make this discovery, you may ask...? Well, I figured it out after making a close examination of a shelf that suddenly collapsed. Yes we had books on it, maybe twenty pounds judging how they felt when I picked them up off the floor. I found out that shelf was being held up by four small rivet looking things that protruded less than an 1/8 inch. That's it!!! Really PB??? Last 600 bucks you get from us. read more

I went in there the other day to look at bedding and asked one of the sales associates for assistance and she told me to go up to the front because she couldn't help me (grey/white hair). I went back to look at the bedding and came back and asked her if she knew if something was on sale and she said that I needed to find someone else to help me so I walked out. I've shopped Pottery Barn for years. I love their products and have a house full of them to prove it. Unfortunately, I don't believe I'll make another trip to the University store. I walked in Sunday afternoon and not a single employee was visible in the store. Several customers waiting, no employees. They were all in the back working on inventory or displays. I waited for 10 minutes for someone to come to the counter to process a return. When a salesperson arrived, she was not personable at all. I had to engage her. That was my fourth visit in the last month. On my previous visit, I had to interrupt employees discussing store layout for a product question and be checked out. They were too busy organizing the store to even notice their customers. It's too bad. Their products are wonderful and the store displays are so creative. The salespeople used to to so friendly and helpful. Not sure what has happened but it's not good. On my initial visit to the store, the salesperson pointed out how important in-person sales were for a brick and mortar store. Actions speak louder than words. read more

I went into this location on Aug 17 to order a $300 quilt. It took them 45 mins to get it ordered online- the store did not have any, despite being told in June they would have more of them in by late July. After giving the sales associate my information, somehow- (she blamed it repeatedly on another associate having previously put me in their system incorrectly), she set it up to have the quilt shipped to someone else, and billed to a third person. (???) Once she realized the error, she assures me it can be fixed. Tonight I find out the order got canceled (by the person at the shipping address), they sent a gift card refund to the wrong person (went to the person at the billing address), and once they track that gift card down, they'll mail me one. The woman at the customer service number clearly couldn't be bothered and when I called the store at university, I was told no manager was available but someone would call me back tonight, and I never got a returned call. FYI- I also now have the names, phone numbers, email addresses and physical addresses of the two customers who's information was incorrectly input. HORRIBLE staff and absolutely terrible customer service to anyone who is not a stereotypical housewife. I went in to this store recently and was appalled. I was wanting to buy all new bedding and a few other accessories. My horrible experience started when I walked in, no one greeted me or even looked in my direction, so I went to the bedding room and waited and waited and waited and waited. The sizes I needed were not on the floor and the employees seemed busy bending over backwards to help a few housewives, so I decided to wait until someone became available. I was standing around for probably 30 minutes and not a single person came over to help me. Maybe they thought that because I am a young sorority girl, I wasn't serious about buying anything. I have no idea what their issue was, but even after the staff finished helping the few other people in the store and were just standing around chatting, I was STILL waiting and no one came to help. I know several of the employees saw me standing there so I was shocked when they did not come over to assist me after they finished helping the obviously more important other customers. I may not be a bored housewife, but I am a very high paying client that should be treated just as fairly as anyone else. I have never had bad experiences at any of their other locations, in fact I have always been treated extremely well at the Dallas location. I ended up only buying 2 shams, I would have purchased much more but I was incredibly fed up with waiting. I mentioned this to the lady at checkout and she just replied with "oh, well did you find everything?" There was no apology, or attempt to fix the situation, or even any sign that my concern would be addressed or be taken seriously by her or any of the other staff members. BEYOND FRUSTRATED. We ordered 2 slipcovered sofas and 1 dining table. It has been nothing but a nightmare scheduling deliveries for these pieces through the corporate "Williams Sonoma Furniture Delivery Service". I had to call 6 times to get the sofas delivered - and after confirming the delivery address 3 times, they still delivered to our old home address which was only attached to the billing information for the payment method we used. After calling 4 more times to schedule the delivery for our kitchen table, and confirming the delivery address twice, they again delivered to our old home, making my husband miss 2 more hours of work to wait on the table. There MUST be a better way to handle deliveries and satisfy customers. The quality of PB furniture is excellent, and I love their product, however I will most likely avoid them all-together moving forward. In the amount of time that we have received three pieces from them, I have received 12+ pieces from Joss and Main, Wayfair and several other furniture companies. No reason to complain to the Fort Worth store, they put the order in correctly and were very friendly throughout the entire process, I just wish CORPORATE wouldn't be so terrible and get their ish together. read more
