Since there's characters limits in google reviews, I'm going to put more here.
TERRIBLE LOCATION for a currency exchange, which is out in the public right next to the DAM square, with ton of tourists, locals, and hobos walking around, it's fucking dangerous to get your money out or even count it there. As you can see from the google images, there's no privacy at all, no security and not even a door, and the only piece of board that separates the two counters they have for this shop isn't really separating, people can get robbed from behind or from the other counter.
The white dutch lady who served at the right counter(from a costumer perspective) at 14:30 31-08-2021, has the worst attitude and facial expression in the world which will make you feel like a inferior piece of nothing because that's how she made me feel. She doesnt give a fuck about those costumers and it's like she hates her job so much that she just need to vent it out on her costumers. I handed her the money I wanted to exchange in a zipper bag as my own protection, she then tried to open it recklessly like that she doesnt even care about the safety of her customer's money. When I told her to just to open it from the top, she put the bag back to me right off the gate and refused to do it with a saggy dead-grumpy face. So I opened it for her and put it on the tray back to her, she "literally" just dumped my money out of the zipper bag like a teenager gal trying to dump the trashes out her nerdy school bag without even explaining any of the rules of currency exchange in amsterdam, she then asked for my passport and went ahead exchanging my money, made me feel like I was sorta swindled and got left in the dark, well done gal When she was done, she simply put my euro on the top of my zipper bag and pushed the money back to me in plain sight. Yup like i said, she doesn't give a fuck about you and your money since she def knows the city so well that there's a lot of robbery, pickpocketing, and crimes on this territory. WATCH OUT! NON-DUTCH PEOPLE, if that's what you want to experience, being a pray in a foreign country. So i had to put my money back into my zipper bag in plain sight again while there was a dude standing 10 inches away from me and a hobo just walked in behind me. Btw they don't exchange your money for more than one time, as what "THE KAREN" lady told me, and if you insist on doing second time, they need to check your ID and other shits again, and where's the money coming from which's so inane and inconsiderate since she just checked my passport that she knows exactly who I am and what kinda dutch visa I have. Nice dutch culture, isn't it? WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT ABOUT THIS SHOP is, they know damn well how to make good marketing and propagation in this post-truth digital age. They have 4.5 stars on google review, lots of ads on the internet saying they're the best shop because they have the best exchange rate here in amsterdam. Treating everyone like an illiterate person of 21st century that people don't know there's chuck full of disinfos and misinfos on every propagating channels/medias. Reviews can be fake and most of the time they are because there's a lot of people getting paid for making fake 5-stars review. Company and big corporation can buy google algorithms out in order to appeared as the top results on google search engines. Yet no one gets paid to make fake bad reviews since thats against the law of libels, especially for this shop that cares so damn well about their reputation instead of their incoming customers. They replied every reviews on google map as everyone can see, and if you pay closed attention to how they reply to their bad reviews, you'll see it's all about denials and truth-reverse, by saying " you didn't even come to our shop" (meaning "you're a liar trying to defame us") "we have 16 cameras at the shop inside out for every angles, can you provide the date and time you came to shop, so we can have a look at what's going on" (meaning "everything that person just said it's untruth before any proofs of ours") in capital letters. C'mon, camera of yours as a solid evidence? Everyone know the tape are easily edited/cut out in this age, who are you trying to fool? And didn't the person who made bad reviews revealed what was going on already? So only you words and your camera tapes can be defined as legal evidences, and not even a single costumer's words? What a great solution of capitalism! Since you always asked the date and time, which is your only pity way to defend your shop and its bad reviews, I already saved your problem by mentioning it at the beginning of this review.
The owner is definitely going to reply only on the google review, but theres no function in google that I can reply to the owner, and even make another reviews in different language, so I'm going to leave my review to the public audience, and it's people's right to decide how they're going to treat this review. read more
