Service as expected, except for Alyssa who went above and beyond to provide exceptional care. This business owes a lot to her.

Two of them failed to disclose all their fees until I asked additional questions (based on my research), one of them was double the price of the other three, and the fourth one was Direct Cremation Services. I met with a gentleman named Kip, who didn't try to upsell me, and gave me a package that met my requests. The costs were significantly lower than the other three places. He assured me that Direct Cremation Services would take care of everything, and explained both the logistical process and the paperwork/payment process. When my mother passed away, on a weekend, Kip returned my (notification) call, emailed me the link to take care of the documents, and immediately send his team out to transport my mother's remains. He told me the paperwork could wait until Monday. Thereafter, everything went as promised, and I picked up my mother's "cremains" yesterday. An unbelievably smooth process during a difficult time. I can't recommend this place enough.

Having never been through the experience of managing the passing of a loved one, I didn't know what to expect. I arranged for DC to provide services. A few days later I bunch of emails with tasks assigned out of the blue. I called to ask about them and was directed to my funeral director who told me those were optional. A couple days later I got a contract and a payment link. Again, I called to question and let the director know we wanted to have an urn for the ashes and that I needed everything shipped to me. Shortly after, I got a new contract and a new payment link. Days passed and I called again to get status. Still waiting. A few days later, I called again. Should be done by end of week. See a pattern? No contacts by DC. Every call was made by me. The end of the week came and I finally got a call. My loved one was ready to be picked up. Wait, what? I paid for shipping. " Oh yeah, that's what I meant". Really?? Anyway, the company provided the service I paid for but communication was non existent. I don't think I ever got a "sorry for your loss" from our funeral director. Given the industry the operate in, I would have expected a little more.

He took action and arranged to have her immediately transferred to Harrisburg even though it was in the middle of a snowstorm. I highly recommend Mr. Prusasky and the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania on Jones Rd. in Harrisburg, it is an excellent organization.

Let me say Mr. Chad is THE BEST HANDS DOWN! I chose to follow my mom's wishes and have a cremation with no service. Like some other families, mine had drama after death so the cremation took some time to complete, but Mr. Chad was patient. He actually kept me calm through the whole thing. Also, my mom was to be cremated in something specific, and even though I was not there physically, Mr. Chas made me feel as if everything I requested was completed. As far as pricing. VERY REASONABLE. Cremation, Urn, Shipping, D.C & all paperwork were less than 2400! I couldn't beat it as places around the area were charging more and would have to transport her body to a crematory. This place is a one-stop caring shop. Lastly, thank everybody, especially Mr. Chad for making the hard transition in life the least of my worries.

Within two hours of the initial phone call, they were at the assisted care facility to pick up my dad. The gentleman who arrived was dressed in a suit, was very professional and caring, and walked me through all of the paperwork. I was able to pick up the cremains in less than a week and the woman that I met with was lovely. She even provided me with the information to obtain a burial flag from the VA. Prices are reasonable and customer service is amazing. Thank you so much, MCS.

From the beginning it was a horror story, they lost my paperwork for a pre-planned cremation. I was power of attorney and was able to fill out and email it to them. I told them when it was emailed and to whom it was emailed. They claimed that they can only see the email for 24 hours and only the supervisor can access them after that. The supervisor was useless and my partially blind brother had to get his part of the paperwork filled out at the doctor's office and faxed to their office. Then they did not post my mother's obituary for at least a week. It took several emails and phone calls to figure out what kind of format it needed to be in. The only thing I thought went well was picking up the ashes and prayer cards. They did not ask me to check the prayer cards. Why would I need to? They have all the information from the death certificate. I never even looked at them. Somebody at my mom's service saw that it had the wrong birthdate. Nobody took them after that. I guess they figured I would return them and get new ones printed. I had planned on doing just that. Until I was told that for their mistake, I would have to pay an additional 10.00. Imagine that! They found the paperwork. They told me it looked like the date they printed. I asked a non-partial person to read the date back to me and she gave me the correct date. The supervisor of the Millersville location who would not give me her name told me I used their service because of the price, and I have not complained so far (goes to show how much she pays attention) and that paying an additional 10.00 to get partial cards should not be an inconvenience. At that point, I told her I have not been happy with the service, and the price was not the best I could have gotten. (I found out later that someone from my HS could have given me a much better price.) Then she told me if I was so unhappy I could have had another company pick up the body and move it to another location. Believe me, if I knew that was an option, I would have done it in a heartbeat. I thought I was stuck.

Even though we purchased the most basic of cremation services at a price far more economical than most others in the area, we were provided with truly superior customer service, courtesy, efficiency, patience and true compassion during our difficult time. I cannot imagine it being done better at any price! The option to complete all forms online in advance was very helpful to us, and Kellen was extremely patient & helpful, even as we had various delays on our end. She kept working with us (answering our calls & emails promptly) until we got our act together enough to complete the simple online process. Even though we didn't purchase the options for family visitation or any other services, we were provided full support by phone, email and in any way we requested, including the OWNER meeting us at a time of our convenience at the funeral home to provide us with the ashes. Speaking of the owner, Tim, he gets his own 5-star rating! Our loved one passed in the wee hours of the morning, and I was anxious about the arrangements for picking her up (I needn't have been). I called their number in the middle of the night, received immediate answer from an incredibly courteous & kind person who took the info & assured me someone would call me back very shortly. Within minutes, the OWNER, TIM, called me and patiently answered my questions, assured me in my distress, and never let on that I had caused him to be awakened from sleep in the middle of the night. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Harman Funeral Home / Potomac Valley Cremation Center!

I asked them to email me the docs in case I decided to go with them, so I could get things going for my father. That's was on 1/13/2025. As for anyone in this situation, I had non stop calls from other funeral homes, family & friends. I never responded to them, so they took it upon themselves to pick father's body up w/o authorization or payment. The company I did hire, called the hospital to arrange pick up only to find out that he wasn't there! I was mortified! The hospital refused to give me any information on my father's where abouts. THEN Kellen from Harmans calls my son And leaves a message that my father was in their care. He was mortified because we discussed the arrangements. I called Kellan and she told me because she had phone number she was able do pick him up & she did me favor because after 3 days his body would go to the state crematory!!!Lies! The hospital and the company I chose confirmed that was a lie, as we had already had a plan in place. Both WVU Medicine & Harmans broke state laws! Neither of them will answer my calls and refuse to give an explanation as to how this happened! They won't respond to calls or emails. They wanted to secure that $ by picking him up! I even told them I'd like to discuss this matter & find resolution before leaving a review! They still failed to respond. No answer doesn't equate to removing someone's deceased loved one without a contract or authorization. Despicable! Do me a favor don't do me any favors! They refuse to return my father's body to the hospital or the correct funeral home! They made them come pick him up which was another 30 mins out of their way. Disgusting!
