She is an awesome first impression to Dr Hawa! Getting here was easy and convenient. I recommend bringing a jacket with you, the office is very cool. Meeting Dr. Hawa was similarly great. He's a warm, friendly, and boisterous guy who I instantly liked. We hit it off talking about barefoot shoes and I quickly learned that he's a fountain of interesting tips and facts. Next, we began the patient interview and his line of questioning let him diagnose what was going on and sure enough, his corrective actions brought immediate relief. I like that Dr. Hawa is also in sports medicine and rehabilitation because he has a lot of exposure to athletes and their various ailments. As an avid indoor rock climber, we were able to talk through the pain I'd been experiencing, what I'd done to cause it, and exercises I could do to help strengthen and prevent this from recurring. He even showed me pictures from a medical book to better illustrate what was going on with my body. After some painless adjustments, he used interferential therapy, a kind of electronic stimulation therapy. I later looked it up and unlike TENS therapy which sends a current across your skin, interferential penetrate deeper providing some pretty legit relief. On top of the interferential therapy, he placed a heating pad on the affected area.

Dr. Singh looked at my notes that I had taken from her appointment with her cardiologist and compared them with the medical report that he was provided before recommending the next step in my mom's care. The nurse who drew my mom's blood work was also excellent. My mom's veins (like mine) are small and difficult to draw blood from. She made the whole procedure as painless as possible. I've heard of the myers cocktail which is good for people with chronic pain and since I have a problem absorbing meds and food when I'm sick I decided to give the IV Infusion a try. Yesterday I felt like I was incredibly dehydrated even though I drink 3 liters of water a day and woke up with a migraine so I figured it would be a good day to try an infusion. I called and Robbie answered and was able to fit me in last minute. She was also the nurse who administered the IV. The place was really relaxing, she turned off the lights and offered me a blanket. I am unfortunately a person who visits the hospital a few times a year and this place was like a spa in comparison. After I left I wasn't sure what to expect but I slept so well. I almost always wake up in the middle of the night in pain or the morning in pain and I didn't have any. I didn't feel dehydrated or full of inflammation. I'm so happy this is an option for me for the future. I highly recommend this business. Robbie was warm and wonderful and had a gentle touch. I'm used to needles and pain by now but it's a bonus when someone is gentle on your arm.

She won't even apologize for the mistakes she made have made and or show some sort of empathy. She thinks it's ok just to have mental lapses..I usually have a greater respect and understanding for older people no matter what color. But when you feel like your above or better than, I will put you in place respectfully. I also love that she has ideas for herbs to try if you're curious, as well as tips and tricks like what to eat for better sleep and pressure points you can try on yourself at home. She has a ton of knowledge and really cares about what she does and how her patients are improving. She has also followed up between treatments to see how I am doing, something few in western medicine are ever able to do. Love my friends and family who are western doctors, but it's usually not a thing that comes with the territory. By the way, I've heard different reports about whether acupuncture hurts, so I was wondering whether the experience would be comfortable (though if it worked, I would do it regardless). Some people I know say acupuncture can indeed hurt, but with Taejean it's very gentle and there's never pain - she really takes pride in making sure you are completely comfortable, explains everything, and listens to any feedback you have. The needles are much thinner than anything you'd see in other contexts and you don't really feel them at all. Once they're placed, you relax for about 20 minutes...and I mean relax. It's a very calm and peaceful experience and while falling asleep is a problem for me in life in general, I've actually drifted off a couple of times, which I'm told is pretty common during acupuncture sessions. I never thought I'd look forward to this, but I do. I've been to about ten sessions and although my insurance doesn't cover it and I am paying out of pocket, I will continue to go. I'm seeing subtle but real changes in my sleep, but the big difference is in my mood - I just handle everything a lot better and the badness wears off quicker. Oh, and everyone else I've interacted with has been great, too. Super kind and understanding the one time I didn't make it to an appointment on time (unlike major places in the DC area) and the space is lovely and relaxing. If you've been considering acupuncture, go see Taejean. This isn't a placebo thing - it's a "there's good science behind this and it works" thing.
