Depending on who is working the front desk staff is horrible or great. Today the woman sitting there with her ridiculous fairy makeup and another woman on the phone didn't greet or acknowledge us or the child who came in after us. In addition to the guitar, Matt also took took time to show me some techniques on the drums as well. I attended a show with Matt's band and he even invited me up to play a song with him live. This review pertains to health and safety of their summer camp. Never could we imagine that our boy would get a heat stroke in a piano camp. Our son (6yo) attended their piano camp in early August when there was a heat advisory. They had the children eat outside next to small trees that do not provide sufficient shade. Our boy felt too hot and threw up. They took him inside, did not check temperature, and did not provide ice when there is a restaurant next door. We emailed them and said we don't believe there is proper precaution during a heat advisory. And the staffs were unprepared to respond to a health situation. Their response is basically stonewalling the parents and insisted that they did absolutely nothing wrong: they first insisted that the kids were out for less than 30 minutes ("20ish minutes") in the gazebo, whereas our boy said the gazebo was taken by other groups so they had to sit on the stools underneath scorching sun. They then followed up and indicated the time they spent outside was close to an hour. We asked whether they provided ice after he complained about the heat. They first said they provided ice water, then changed to chilled water. Their stories changed so much to the extent that we wonder what was really going on in the camp. What's most troubling is the director's line of: I dropped off my three boys at a tennis camp without shade from 9am to 4pm. This line of reasoning completely ignores the fact that parents may have different expectations for a piano camp vs. a sport camp. And camp organizers have duties to safeguard health and safety for all children, not just a few. They made it sound like that it was our 6yo's fault to suffer a heat stroke when numerous heat advisories were in place. They refused to issue a refund after we pulled our boy out of the camp. They are relatively new on the summer camp scene and there are so many better ways they could have resolved this to keep customer goodwill. But they chose not to. read more
