So thankful we found this church. AND we are from Naples! Def returning. Friendly, hip, great worship music and musicians, applicable biblical truth preached. They have several satellite churches, this was the original, used to be Flamingo Rd Church. Heard about it for years, now I know why it still stands as a powerful magnet for people to gather that are searching and/or have found the truth. From the outside it looks like a huge warehouse, no cross. Very organized parking, know how to handle the crowds. Come as you are, overflow seating in balconies. Love the neighborhood too, clean, warm, lots of restaurants nearby. Parks down the street with an awesome mini golf. You can spend an entire day here with no problem. Loved the preaching and the music. Unfortunately, the few services we attended focused way too much on giving them money. They also charged to attend a women's conference and then proceeded to collect an offering, but didn't provide coffee or anything that justified it. I really really really wanted this to be my church. This was my second visit in a row... I might even give it another try but somethings just rubbed me the wrong way last week. The young pastor spent the whole hour yelling anti-abortion speech. I get it it's church but condemning abortion even in the event of "the rape of a 14 yr old girl by her uncle and saving a pregnant women's life is not acceptable". My daughter was in the youth group and a kid wrote in anonymously asking about trans people and she thought the response was really insensitive and cruel to whoever wrote the question. I walked away feeling really down and sad. I go to church to be uplifted and feel the love of god not to be screamed at. I guess I'll have to look around some more and find somewhere a little more uplifting. I'm really disappointed. read more

I used to go to potential for 10 years and stopped in 2022, I couldn't take it anymore. What started as a community church turned into a mega church where pastor Troy wears gucci, Louis Vuitton, and balenciaga every weekend while having his entire family "work" for the church. He bought his son a brand new Camaro and then begged the rest of us to tithe for Panama City. I enjoy my designer splurges don't get me wrong but the family doesn't have a job outside of Saturday and Sunday sermons. They constantly asked for money but I stopped doing offerings because the corruption was only growing. read more

I have gone to Church all my life, and moved to Florida 6 years ago. I wanted to find a good Church that preaches the Word of God the way I was used to hearing it - truthfully and life applying. The first time I went to Potential it was because of a flyer I saw for a special service with a NASA theme (Astronauts). My son loves that, so we went. We were so glad we went. The greeters, the ushers, the Pastors and the staff are all very genuinely caring people. Every service is so well prepared for, they take their time to plan every service to the most minimal detail, and take so much effort to make sure everyone feels welcome. Pastor Troy and his son Tyler are awesome preachers of the Word of God, the worship is very healing and spiritual. Would definitely recommend this Church. read more

It really saddens me how people talk bad about a church that accepts you just the way you are. it seems that thoseare the people that need to be loved the most. I go to church to listen to the word of god and learn from it,, I dont care what you look like if your gay, black, hispanic etc etc etc. There is no perfect church on this Earth and we each go where we feel the moving of the Holy Spirit. We have been going to Potential for 12 years! This is home. Pastor Troy is on point when it comes to delivering the Gospel! The word he delivers is always bible based with many references to scripture about the topics he is speaking on. I have gotten closer to God being a member of this church. I have always trusted God with my finances and GOD is why I am successful! He blesses me so that I can be a blessing to others. With that being said I am a business woman, I know what it takes to run a business. Most people dont want to hear this but CHURCH IS A BUSINESS AS WELL. The beautiful lobby, nice chairs, flooring, cold AC, audio and visual equipment, Electricity, kids ministry, police presence and much more is all a part of it! How much do you think it takes to maintain these things? The light bill alone at this place is at least 25k a month. Whats happening is the members don't give like they should, they only come to enjoy the comfort of the church and believe they don't have to give tithe. As a direct result we have to hear speeches about tithing. If you are mentally broke you will have trouble hearing these speeches, I understand the concept of tithing so it doesn't bother me at all. A hurt dog will holler and that is why you read reviews that say the church wants money, they simply don't want to give and try to justify why. Instead of People spending their whole time thinking "the nerve of this church, asking us for money" they should think of ways to become a part of the mission and have some sort of understanding that it takes money to run a beautiful facility. When I give my tithe, it's for God, if the pastors are irresponsible with the funds that they receive, that is their cross to bare. In any church, there will be nuances, but it is up to us to decipher if the enemy is persuading us to stop our journey. If you show me a church that doesn't collect tithe, I'm gonna show you a rundown building with no resources, no ministry in Peru no missions to different parts of of the world because they simply can't afford it. I love this church! I love the fact that my pastor wears his designer outfits and is not faking it to impress people. I want him to have all the best things life has to offer, I am transformed because of his gift/word and for that I am grateful! I would recommend anybody give this church a try have an open mind and God will bless your heart, And if you understand the simple concept of tithing which means 10% of your income goes to God you will be fine. Hospitality: Hospitality was great - there were always helpful people to guide our family to the right areas. Worship: The music is at least 50% louder than it needs to be. I know I sound really old when I say that, but it's true. I couldn't bring my infant daughter into the sanctuary during worship due to the noise. There is a tiny "cry" room in the back of the sanctuary, but there are only 5 chairs and were already over 10 people in it. Sermon: My family tried the church twice. The first time, we listened to Pastor Troy. The sermon wasn't biblically based. Pastor Troy had points that clearly he wanted to talk about and hand-picked a scattering of scriptures to back up HIS points, rather than walking me through scripture and explaining GOD'S points. There's a world of a difference. My family tried the church again, thinking that maybe the first sermon was just lighter...it WAS the end of a sermon series, after all, and maybe it was like season 4 of Arrested Development - the story kept going with no actual material. But, alas, the next sermon was worse. It was essentially an infomercial for the book that the pastor wrote and wanted to sell. I kid you not. The pastor tried to make everything into a joke and tried to sell his book. That was it. I'm not only disappointed, I'm disgusted. Children's Ministry: Very secure, which is important for this size of a church. But my son, who usually recites the lessons at other churches verbatim for us in the car couldn't recall what the lesson was about at Potential. This isn't a church for the narrow minded. For the strictly religion-minded, either. If you want a quiet church that sings non-rhythmic hymns or tells you solemnly how you need to repent and that you are going to hell if you don't do certain things and you have to judge people for how they look and act (Hi, majority of South Floridians!) this place isn't for you. There are a ton of churches, go find one that works. Potential is a huge church, and this isn't the only Potential in south Florida, there are another two or so here, one in Pensacola and some internationally. A huge congregation. There's a reason why potential is so massive with a massive congregation: it speaks to people. It brings people back to God, to Christ. It brought my husband (who was agnostic for over a decade.) back to Christ, and has made him a better person. It's not about bringing people to God the "traditional way" and if they don't come, then oh well guess they're not "godly" enough. I've seen that in a lot of churches. Potential is contemporary, and makes things easier on you. Our worship team gets you hyped up, the pastors don't just read from the Bible and tell you to go off on your way. They show you how to put the word of God into your everyday life. The church and the volunteers greet you at the door, they easily direct traffic to show you where to park, have golf carts coming and going for those who parked far away in the overflow parking lot, have Starbucks coffee in the lobby, have an outline of the sermon waiting for you at the door, have everything you need to get baptized right after service, have different groups for your children from newborn to 18. And yes, the teachers know your kid by name and personality even without their name tag. There's service on Saturday at 5:05 pm, Sundays at 9, 10:30, 12:30, and 5:00. So there's no reason not to come to worship. Before i started getting connected here, when I would come on and off as a teen, I felt very much like a part of a large crowd. As if I was just a number, because everything is just so full of people! So yeah, I understand why people feel that way. Getting connected is truly important here. Connected, as in speaking to one of the pastors, or asking someone to pray with you at the end of service. Or joining a class like Step In, where you can ask questions about religion and God when you first come here, can get you started. You can meet other people and get involved. I volunteer as a host for Step In, there's people from all walks of life and sometimes at rock bottom, and trust me you'll feel the sense of community. And when you genuinely need something, you'll get it. I'm not talking about the "God I need a new car" and then somehow a car pops up in your driveway. I'm talking you tell someone you're homeless while in Step In, just someone sitting at your table and you're brand new to the church, and then fifteen minutes later a pastor shows up with some people who are asking what you need. A job? Some clothes? Food? Need money to get into an apartment? People handing you envelopes with cash from anonymous people who donated and telling you "Hey, meet with so and so later he's got a job for you.". That's God's work, isn't it? A disabled volunteer's car broke down so the church and volunteers were able to get her a new car. These are just a couple of examples, all true. But go ahead and tell me this church is just here for the money. The lights, the media and music isn't all that Potential is about. We go on missions, where we volunteer our time to be the hands and feet of God across several orphanages, homeless shelters, homes of sick children and their families, soup kitchens, and do international missions to different countries to help with what they need. There's also free events like the Viva Women's conference, Trunk or Treat, the seasonal kick offs, Christmas drives and events, the Easter and Mother's Day events, for everyone to attended. So while I see people complain about the "money shake down" (which is a prayer at the end of service for us to be generous and to help those of us who are in financial trouble then they pass the buckets around) it seems they don't know all that goes on to make Potential an actual church. That money isn't just going into the electric bill, the upkeep, that new playground and Pastor Troy's pocket. It goes into making sure everyone can reach our God potential, by not just going to service once a week, but by SERVING as well. Yes there's a ton going on, maybe you're a little overwhelmed. Go to service, grab some Starbucks in the lobby, come to a class, join something, volunteer, go to a mission, get CONNECTED. Heck, just walk around and see the youth groups and their fun, the young children in Sunday school, the volunteers holding an umbrella over your head when it's raining, the pastors helping everyone and praying with people, the passion everyone has for what we do. No, No, No. I went here a few times while I was church hunting. I gotta say this is the worst church I have attended in many years. 1. They shake you down for money. I mean they really shake you down for money. One thing JESUS commands us not to do is make an example of our giving. Well they do! The highest givers aka, "Temple Guardians" are named each month. As the one man said, "If you aren't up here, you need to step up your giving!" Yikes? Is this church or The Sopranos? 2. The Pastor. Dude can't teach. His doctrine is flawed at best and dangerous in error at worst. Their are some great sub Pastors that speak, but Pastor Troy's doctrine is in error. I know a lot of people who go to this church who are great Christians and if the church is helping someone grow to Christ JESUS I can't bash it. But I warn all folks be careful of who you follow and be careful of what you are being taught. I've learned that lesson the hard way. read more

I was able to get TOO close , as in volunteer in every event. & started to notice everything was about money . Pastor Troy doesn't acknowledge any of his volunteer team. Formerly called Flamingo Road Baptist Church, I read the yelp reviews in a continuous attempt to try to find a church I like and decided to try tthis one It was awesome! At the device Darryl Strawberry preached and he was on point. The next few weeks the pastor is going to preach on issues and solutions. There was exactly 30 minutes of singing and fellowship , another 30ish of service ad the. They closed out. When you go in they have Starbucks and people showing you where you can sit. I really appreciated watching one lady usher who clearly was enjoying the music. If anything maybe one traditional song jazzed up. Ohhh and they are veryyyy casual so go as is. I had on a dress and felt overdressed. Mostly everyone had on jeans or shorts. read more

I stepped foot in here and immediately felt at home. The messages are so powerful and inspiring. Pastor Troy is touched by God. I am so thankful I stumbled upon this church. I broke into tears; it was so beautiful. The pastor talked about depression and what we do when life gets hard. It resonated with me and I ended up crying just cause the message was so strong and relevant. If I lived near this church, I would definitely go every Sunday. read more

I attended Flamingo Road Church (FRC) before and right after the name change to Potential Church. ~Feb 2009 - Dec 2010. I first heard of FRC a few years earlier from a friend of mine that it offered contemporary and non-judgmental teachings. After the end of 2008 and during January 2009, I started looking for a church to attend and I remembered my friends recommendation. I found the FRC website with an archive of all of Pastor Troy's old teachings. After watching many of those teachings, I finally walked in by myself and was welcomed at the 411 Table. I got saved a month later. I enjoyed the worship music (ramped up Christian music), the Starbucks coffee, and the teachings. I did get involved and served at the Source and joined a couple of Small Groups. But towards the end of 2010, I kept running into brick walls and finally realized it was the Holy Spirit taking me to a different church which is a little more traditional. I am eternally grateful to FRC for being there and for having a safe place where I was lead to Christ. FRC does do a great job welcoming people like me who would never walk in to a more traditional church. I was definitely "un-churched." It was my only hope that they also not forget that once people get there that they also find more ways to feed their flock. But in the end, FRC was not to be my permanent home church. If you are interested in FRC (now Potential) and you are weary of more traditional churches, I think you will feel welcomed there. If you prefer something more traditional, then FRC (now Potential) would not be for you. read more

I've been living in South Florida for almost 10 years and I can honestly say that I feel more at home now that I've attended this church. Renamed Potential Church, they offer a wide variety of services that accommodates everyone! I prefer the Saturday night service at 6pm. There are less people but the message is still impactful! They have 5 different service times on Sunday: 3 morning services, 1 midday service at 12:45pm and an evening service at 5:30pm. The thing that I love the most about the church is that it's warm and inviting. I don't feel as though I'm being accused of being a sinner and that I'll burn in hell for eternal damnation! I know that sounds a bit radical but you'll be surprised about what I've encountered at some churches! Every service is based around some theme and the pastors make the messages relatable. Whether you're yound, old, married, single, or divorced, you will take something away from the service that will help you throughout the week. It's to the point where I look forward to going the next week once I walk out of church. They offer free Starbucks coffee and they are usually selling popcorn or snacks that you can take into the auditorium with you. They also have a million different groups that you can join. I haven't been able to join any yet due to my work schedule (I work nights and that's when most groups meet) so I can't speak to them. First visit to Potential Church today. I was greeted by church volunteers as a first time visitor. I filled out a new visitor form and received a nice goodie bag with a notebook, pen, and some information about the church. The church was really nice with church volunteers to help guide you as a first time visitor. I grabbed a cup of hot tea before going inside the sanctuary. I sat near the front of the church and thoroughly enjoyed the worship. The music was outstanding. The pastor delivered a wonderful message that was easy to understand and relatable. I think I have found my new church and will visit again soon. I also took a tour of the kid's ministry area of the church. The rooms were clean and it seemed they had a structured program for the little ones. I would feel comfortable leaving my child for kids ministry while I attend regular service. read more

I have attended Potential Church for two years and it has truly changed my life. I found Potential Church at a time of immense stress in my life that was affecting my marriage and performance in graduate school. I truly believe that being faithful and committed to God's house has made a tremendous difference in getting through the stress of graduate school, bringing me closer to my husband, and experiencing many more blessings than I could have imagined. I will be devastated to be moving in the coming months as I go on active duty with the military and no longer able to attend the amazing Saturday night service. There is something so unique and special about Potential Church.. from the greeters to the music that sometimes speaks to me in such a way that I can't help but cry of joy and happiness. While the music may be too loud and lively for some, I have found it inspiring. I love that I can sing and dance and not worry about anyone judging me, because everyone around me is too!
