I have been coming to this Church for a little over a year now. I had no exposure to Christianity or God before coming here, and It has been the greatest thing to ever happen to me. Being at the Broward church has been a great experience. I transitioned from the sister church in Miami and since I joined I have felt at welcomed. The church has diversity (with age and cultures) in their volunteers and members. I was a college student coming into the church at the beginning of the year and it was encouraging to see other people my age trying to live according to the word and sharing their faith. Broward, offers in depth, individual, studies to help others know more about the bible and are often striving to connect with community through various events. I've been coming here for about a year and found the worship to be inspiring and doctrinally sound. However this week I choose to try to sit near someone I didn't know. An elderly black women. My pet peeve in a church is when I am told this seat is taken. I understood a church is there to save souls not chairs. I get it you want to sit next to people who are serving in some capacity. These are the people who should be thankful to have an opportunity to relinquish their seats! Please advise your attendees this is not the mission of Christ. I've been a member of the Broward church for the past five years. One of the many things I appreciate most about the Broward Church is the pursuit of continual growth, with God at the center of every change. I want to share just a few of the developments that I've seen in my time here. The church now offers community groups or small groups, as an integral way to build family within the church and to reach the community. I feel that this is super helpful, because I believe that the more intimate the group, the greater the depth of the relationships. In this groups we have personal accountability, we learn and teach one another, and we serve together. Another thing I've seen is the church's growing commitment to serving the community we live in. Over the past few years, we have partnered with different organizations like 4KIDS foster care agency, Habitat for Humanity, and LifeNet 4 Families. It has been really encouraging to work together as a church family to make an impact on those in need. The most recent change is that we have an additional worship service on Sundays. We now meet at 9:00am and 11:30am. Adding the earlier 9am service has been great, as it allows more room for growth and helps to accommodate the schedules of those who could not meet at the later time. I've been very encouraged to see God work through each of these changes, and also very impressed to see the response of the members of the church. I spent most of my life "church hopping", but was never able to truly feel God's presence or even feel connected to those who attended the churches I visited. I had gotten used to sitting down for an hour on Sundays, never saying a word to anyone besides those I came with. Because no one had ever made an effort to know me as a church visitor, I never felt at home at these churches I visited. But my searching stopped a little over two years ago once I attended Broward Church. As a member of the Broward Church, I must encourage you with this: if you're looking for a church home and friends who will remind you of God's promises, Broward Church is definitely for you. There is not a Sunday morning or a Wednesday night where I don't feel welcomed by everyone. Attending small group bible study has allowed me to open up and let people know who I really am. Broward church is truly a family. Being a single mom when I first entered these doors, they made me feel welcomed and were so loving/helpful. As my daughter has continued to grow she has also developed friendships with other families as well. Their children's ministry fosters biblical education from 6 months onward. I have been coming to this church for 23 years. This church is like family. The church is biblically based. Their motto is "A church not for ourselves". The service starts at 10 and if you get there early, you will probably have people come up and introduce themselves to you. They have a fantastic children's program for 6 months to 5th grade. I have had both my kids go through it. This is where kids learn the Bible and memory scriptures. This allows parents to focus on the service. They sing a lot! Which is great, I love worship. They do a mix of contemporary and traditional songs. The sermon is always backed up by scripture so you can do your own deep dive later. There is a Discover class after service where you can ask questions and learn about what they believe. There are smaller community groups so no one gets lost in a big service. There's also opportunities for individual Bible studies. It has really helped me in my walk to get closer with God and to build deep friendships to help me to stay close with Jesus. I love the Broward Church. I started coming in 2013 as a newly wed and quickly found a home. I love the relationships I've been able to build and the way I've been able to grow. There's something special about showing who you truly are and being raw and vulnerable but still be loved. I am now a mom of a one year old and have gained a new found appreciation for the children's ministry-They call it kingdom kids. Every teacher is background checked and interviewed before being placed in a role. They receive yearly training including training for children with special needs. That to me creates peace of mind while I'm in service. My daughter is loved, taken care of, and being taught the Bible! read more

There are many, many beautiful, kind, intelligent and good people in this church who, in my humble opinion, truly believe their doctrines and genuinely want to welcome you into a church family. They are not bad. They are good. The big "however," is, without doubt the ICOC, of which they are a part, is absolutely, without doubt, a cult. I was there and was on the cusp of joining because they were so warm and welcoming. My experiences started out wonderfully, but then became insidiously creepy and bullying while all the while trying to absolutely in "a nice way" force and coerce me into becoming "just like them," an unquestioning conscript. If I disagreed with anything, I was disagreeing with God, not them. Don't believe me? Check out reveal.org and cultwatch.org or any of the too-numerous-to-mention YouTube videos and online reviews of former members. I had read these when I decided to attend their studies and services, so I had both sides when I attended. But I like to make up my own mind as some people can possibly overreact or have axes to grind, so I attended with a very, very hopeful and open mind. Much to my chagrin, what I read and listened to was absolutely true. Approx. five or six weeks in, my experiences mirrored those of the former members who left. I was not happy about it. There are not a greater number of bad people there than there are anywhere else, and I'm sad that a lot of really good people would allow themselves to be, IMHO, well, "brainwashed." But hey, I'm no one to judge. I'm just stating my experience and without doubt, to each his own. We all have the right to do whatever we want as long as we are not hurting anyone else and if this is what makes you happy, more power to you, but this could hurt you psychologically. Just keep this in the back of your mind: If I had not really held onto what I truly believe to be right and in accordance with God's love and what I believe He wants us to do as decent humans and had allowed myself to be browbeaten (unknowingly on these good people's part) into "submission," I without doubt would have suffered psychological damage.
