I've been going to PostureWorks for almost 4 years now, and I've often said my first review post-Yelp would be for Dr. Levin, Dr. Todhunter, and their amazing staff. I have a messed-up spine from falling down a stairwell on a cruise ship at age 22. Around age 31 I started to have a lot of pain. My MD told me there wasn't much that could be done. My friend Dashiell recommended I come to PostureWorks. I'm a total skeptic and I'd had a couple bad experiences with chiropractors in the past, so I was wary. At PostureWorks I finally understood the damage and what I would need to do to correct it. That's the biggest thing to know - the type of trauma recovery I'm doing is a big time commitment. I was able to get results with appointments 3x per week, and by doing "homecare" exercises that are prescribed. Unfortunately, I get lazy about the homecare, but I'm planning to double down on it with my newfound freedom. I'd highly recommend checking them out no matter who you are. So far they've been well-worth the time and money to me. read more

Buyer beware! Wow, I wish I had a better experience here because I think they are doing something revolutionary in the world of chiropractic care, but they have some shady business sense. I bought a Groupon that included an exam and adjustment, but they failed to mention ahead of time that I would need to buy a set of xrays before the adjustment. My insurance does not cover the kind of xrays they need, so it would have ended up costing $200 before I could get my adjustment. This, of course, makes practical medical sense, but I didn't have the dollars and cents to do it. If I they had published that anywhere, I wouldn't have bought the deal to begin with because I wouldn't have been able to afford it. So, now I'm stuck having had just a consultation, telling me everything that is wrong with my body, but no way to fix it until I come up with the dough. Bummer. read more

Although competent, I felt that Dr. Levin's process was somewhat unethical. I felt that his practice was to identify every possible little problem that a person could have and add it up to be a 'serious health issue' and a 'spinal disease'. After several visits to other more seasoned Chiropractors, and several second opinions, my overall feeling was that his approach was based on fear and exclusivity, stating that he had to 'accept me as a patient'. The vagueness of his initial consultation left me knowing nothing about what to do next other than get x-rays and return for another session. I was expecting an adjustment but only received a entry level evaluation of my spine. I was unable to get any pricing information from his on how much it would be to actually give me an adjustment - again, the whol exclusivity card of him not even knowing if he wanted to take me as a patient. I ended up going to see a seasoned Chiropractor who used his schooling and knowledge of the body to give me a much needed adjustment and now I am already feeling much better. My overall impression is that they have a good intention at posture works, but I was left feeling like I was applying to be in a special program that eventually would help me - not like I had been helped with my current condition at the present moment. I do not like having to sign up for a program, I just wanted an adjustment. In that way, this is not a normal chiropractor's office, they are looking for long term clients. For that reason, I gave them 1star. perhaps for people who do want to see a chiropractor every week for a year, they are the right choice. However, I would recommend seeing a more traditional provider focused on helping their patients right away, and not delaying care for un-necessary process. I expect Dr. Levin will grow out of this as he becomes a more seasoned practitioner. read more

While I love Yelp, I never stop to provide my own reviews. I'm making an exception today for PostureWorks. I've struggled with typing-related pain in both arms for 15 years. In that time, I've been to a dozen doctors, two PTs, an acupuncturist, pain specialists, and pretty much every other medical professional you can think of. I won't pretend PostureWorks has been a cure-all, but it has made my pain noticeably less and has made a big difference in my overall quality of life. When I first heard about PostureWorks and the type of care that was done there, my first instincts were threefold. Primarily my curiosity was piqued as an aspiring physician wanting to learn more about the human body and looking at it from a different angle. Secondly I was a bit skeptical about their claims that making small changes in posture could make very big differences in overall health. Lastly I was cautiously optimistic that this new method of BioPhysics could help to ease some of the tension in my lower back garnered from old gymnastics injuries. I am happy to report that after going to PostureWorks for almost 3 months now that my eyes have been opened to a new way of looking at the nervous system that coordinates all of our body's movements voluntary and involuntary. All skepticism about the power of making small changes and the difference that they can make to one's overall health has been thrown out the window. Lastly, the health of my lower back has improved to the point that I would recommend this method to anyone suffering from mild to acute back pain; I am in the process of referring family and close friends. Prior to starting care I was in bad shape, worse shape than I cared to admit to myself. The human body has a profound ability to adapt to discomfort to the point where it becomes our new normal. It was only after I started getting care that I realized that normal could, and should, feel a lot better than what I had been experiencing. The first thing that struck me when coming in for my new patient examination was that this was a different type of chiropractic care. I had never heard of a chiropractic physician taking digital X-ray images and using them to see what structural and postural idiosyncrasies my body possessed. I had never seen chiropractic care with the option of a nutritional supplement program for patients specifically interested in weight loss (see NutraWorks). The practitioners here use state of the art devices (check out the power plates while you're here), peer reviewed research, personal experience, and years of combined knowledge, to make personalized treatment plans for each patient. There are check-ups using further diagnostic imaging and regular patient physician check-ins to see what is working and how to engender efficiency in getting patients to their new normal. I have had interactions with Drs. Levin, Miller, and Todhunter on different occasions and although they all have their own style, they all take their time to listen to you as a patient and adapt to efficiently ease discomfort and get you well. In summary, the entire clinical staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and tirelessly working towards healing each patient. The assistant clinical staff, and all support staff find their niches in constructively promoting health and wellness. I haven't been to Posture Works in four months (because of work / life / travel), but boy, do I miss it! One reviewer complained because Dr. Levin didn't just do an adjustment and send him on his way. Fair enough . . . that's not what they do. Drs. Miller and Levin are all about a holistic approach to your overall health, and focus on care that improves your overall well being. It takes a lot more than a couple back cracks, and you have to do a lot more 'homework' than with other practitioners, but the result is better health, better posture, and more energy. Dr. Levin and Dr. Miller are incredibly knowledgeable about the human body, how it works, and how to keep it running in top shape for life. Their adjustment skills are first rate. They are honest and caring people who genuinely want to make a difference in the lives of their patients. My experience with them has been nothing short of excellent. I've had IBS issues for the past 6 years and no one has been able to help me get over them or even tell me why it was happening. Drs. Levin and Miller diagnosed that my problem lay with the curvature of my lower spine and how it was stretching my abdominal muscles to the breaking point, keeping them tense all the time which they identified as the cause of my IBS symptoms. After only a few months of treatment my lower back issues and associated IBS symptoms are almost gone. The difference is night and day and has really opened my eyes to the benefits of their care. Visiting Posture Works is the best decision I made for my health. My spine lost the natural curve, which caused endless back pain, neck pain and headaches. It became even worse several months ago, so I reached out to Dr. Levin. After taking some X-rays for my spine, he discussed with me about my health situation and made a three-month treatment plan. I gotta be honest and say that I never really took the chiropractic world seriously until 1.) I got rear-ended by some old man who had no business driving in a comatose state with a lead foot... and 2.) I went into PostureWorks to work on my neck, of which I was in denial was hurting from the car accident that happened a couple years prior. Both Dr. Levin and Dr. Miller have made significant improvements in getting my whole spine back in line, not just halting the downward spiraling path that my neck was traveling on. This is an expensive (both in terms of time and money) endeavor, but I believe worth the effort and cost. The team does a thorough evaluation and lays out a plan of traction, adjustments, and home care exercises specific to your needs. When you start, it does feel like you are "drinking the Kool-Aid". However, it works. I am extremely active but had been having back issues (L4-5 as well as L2-3) for many years. I took lots of OTC pain meds in order to keep training for triathlons, ride my mountain bike, and lead and participate in my fitness classes (boot camp, body sculpt, cycling). I felt fine riding my bike, indoor and out, as well as weight lifting, and even doing burpees, but I couldn't walk (or jog) more than a 1/4 mile without my feet getting numb. Through the work with the PostureWorks team (all wonderful, warm, friendly and helpful), I got myself out of pain, but still had issues with my feet going numb. Eventually, Dr. Levin directed me towards a surgeon who was not afraid to recommend core strengthening over surgery. I ended up still needing back surgery for those stability issues in the L4-5 region but the combination of the work with PostureWorks and Dr. Oshtory's surgical skills gave me back my physical life. I still go to PostureWorks for maintenance adjustments and traction and additional focus on remaining cervical spine issues. read more

Just this past week, his great adjustments helped me be able to sit through a wknd long seminar without any lower back or hip pain. Laser-like pain shooting through every part of my head every time I flew on a plane or went through elevation change. -GONE!- After 3 months of 3x/week adjustments with Dr Scott and traction to realign my cervical curve. Crazy what can happen when a few vertebrae are just a few millimeters off. He also identified and adjusted a couple other areas of imbalance in my spine that would've caused future health issues. Its amazing to see and feel the change in my whole body since the curvature of my spine has been restored close to ideal. From the very first consultation I knew this was a totally different kind of chiropractic care than I've ever encountered. They base all of their treatments on current x-rays (off site and totally affordable as I don't have health insurance) and precise measurements that are customized for each bodies needs. I was hit by a texting driver in April 2019, which totaled my car and put me in the hurt locker with a concussion that lasted two weeks. Once the headaches faded, I noticed my neck felt like it was grinding, with shooting pains. In photos, I looked all crippled up. My energy was really low and I felt generally awful. I intended to see a chiropractor about it...one day I saw a silly sidewalk sign outside Posture Works that said "Who dis? NEW NECK!" and I thought, "Man I could use a new neck" so I stopped in. I said "Just please don't do that head-snap thing" and they said "Oh no, with an accident we have to take X-rays and be very careful until we know what's up." I was shocked to hear I had torn ligaments in my neck, and Dr. Levin was a bit grave and intimidating at first, but I decided to trust them. After six initial sessions I felt SO much better, that I signed up for a full course of treatment. (I had to sue GEICO because they were horrible, but Posture Works made everything easy on my end.) The doctors and staff are a total pleasure to deal with--very thorough, totally focused on your progress and getting you as strong and healthy as possible. On top of that, they are purely nice people and almost ridiculously friendly--it makes a noticeable difference. The traction sessions and exercises are a lot of work and take a great deal of time, but are totally worth it. Thanks to the treatments, I was now living without pain, and my mood and outlook improved greatly. I had not realized how gray the world had become after the accident...I was just dragging myself through the workday and going home exhausted, with no energy to do anything else. I was able to resume exercising vigorously, I've lost 35 pounds since last year, and I look and feel fantastic. When I completed the portion of treatment that we agreed could be assigned to the insurance company, I voluntarily decided to do another round specifically to optimize my posture, which has always been slumpy and lazy. I should have listened to my grandmother 35 years ago when she nagged me repeatedly about my poor posture, but I didn't, so here I am working my butt off decades later to set it straight. I visited posture works due to issues with my jaw, which had been locked for some time due to TMJ. I was seeking a holistic approach to healing my jaw and found exactly this. Dr Scott and Dr Kevin took the time to not only address my concerns but teach me about the complex ways in which this one issue was tied to the rest of my body. As such treatment was very comprehensive and resulted in rectifying my posture and aligning my spine. OMG! I've been to Chiropractors for years now but nothing prepared me for these guys! I had already lost 55lbs. with their sister company, Nutraworks so I was already predisposed to at least hear them out. I expressed my concern over a trigger finger and bursitis in my shoulder when I was informed that they might be able to help me. I said why not, if you do as good work as you did with my diet let's try it. Well, these guys went above and beyond! I am now completely pain free, circulation has returned to my feet, my shoulder pain is a memory, my trigger finger is a thing of the past and now I'm working towards corrected posture and better health! These guys ROCK! And if any of the above is not convincing enough they are literally on the bleeding edge of technology now employing a new Power machine originally developed for the Soviet Cosmonauts and since perfected by Nasa. I'm really impressed, Postureworks provides a really innovative approach to chiropractic care. Dr. Levin and Dr. Miller are truly dedicated doctors intent on ongoing professional development, and have consistently impressed me with their knowledge and insight. I have seen other chiropractors, and every adjustment is the same; the strategy is about momentary alleviation of pain. Postureworks has a very different method that aims to reverse degeneration. Personally, I had a reverse curve in my neck that resulted in arthritis and disc degeneration, causing my arms to fall asleep, and throbbing pain in my elbow and wrist joints. The throbbing pain is completely gone and my arms are infrequently falling asleep, it used to happen nightly. Through the ongoing care I'm receiving, my neck is over 50% of the way back to a healthy curvature. I've been able to see, with X-rays, the progress I've made and it's amazing. I am confident that through their care we will fully restore the healthy curve to my neck.
