They charged my husband $85 for a knock‑off shirt and shorts. A few hours after buying it, my husband went back to exchange the set for a bigger size and they refused. He didn't want to argue, so he just left disappointed. If I had known ahead of time that this is what they were charging, I would've told him NOT TO BUY ANYTHING FROM THERE. Several people on Instagram are saying they were charged anywhere from $30 up to $85. They completely took advantage of the situation and kept raising the prices. I tried calling the store and they wouldn't answer. They know exactly what they're doing. It's awful to try to support our own people only for them to take advantage of us. While it's absolutely not a huge deal to have to wait, when there's 12+ people trying to look around the charm bar at the same time, it gets pretty overwhelming. This was compounded when people without reservations came in, including one woman who was rather.... Pushy. Staff seemed to be monitoring the area but didn't say anything or help and it was frustrating when we booked a time to be pushed out by people who were just looking. I literally had a woman put her hand up in my face and block me while she was looking, and she didn't have a reservation or end up making a bracelet, she was just there to look. Staff did not help with this situation. It would have been nice if they had stepped in and reminded everyone that we were in a shared space. I also want to note, the people helping us at first told us if we were struggling that they could help us by putting the charms on for us. They specifically stated that and one of my bridesmaids asked to clarify and they confirmed. So I was surprised when one of bridesmaids was really struggling and when she directly asked for help they instead just kept telling her the same tips without helping her. The six of us had finished our bracelets before she finished her first charm and I also asked the staff to help her but they again just offered advice and insisted that the struggle was just part of the "experience," and acted like she should be enjoying this part of the activity. She was not, and the response from the person helping us honestly felt a little like gaslighting. At the end they take your bracelets to check that everything is on securely and that they're all facing the same way. They let us know they were going to fix a few things for quality control at the end. Yet, on my bridal bracelet one of the charms is facing the wrong way, and out of the seven bracelets made, three had charms fall off within the first day of wear on the car ride home. I also made a car mirror charm and that too had a backwards charm I had to fix at home. I have been following Golden Hour on TikTok and part of the reason we chose to come to Sacramento was to come here, so it was a little bit of a disappointing experience. The staff were friendly but not overly helpful and I am pretty disappointed with how fragile this jewelry apparently is. We sat for quite awhile while they supposedly quality checked our bracelets for backwards and to check how well we put the charms on, but apparently they don't do much of a check since so many had issues so quickly. The rest of the shop is absolutely adorable. You will be guaranteed to find something you'll love there, I'm sure of it. Is it a fun experience? Yes, assuming you aren't being shoved out by folks who did not book a time slot. But I really hope as they grow they put more of an emphasis on quality and prioritizing folks who have already paid their deposit and are committed to making a bracelet.
