Yes!! Finally got a reservation here after months of trying, and both food + service totally lived up to expectations! Six of us trekked to this place on a rainy Saturday, and it was a real crazy journey getting there as it happened when both the metro and tram we were on had disruptions due to roadworks going on. But the warmth of service and the excellent food made the hour's journey so worth it. Also, it was a mini-Yelp event as Lauren A. was also included in our dinner party!! So between the six of us we got x 3 meter long half & half pizzas, drinks, desserts and coffee. Mum and I split a vegetarian and a "Mamma" pizza - I made this choice based on previous Yelper's recommendations to try the Friarelli (which for me tasted like wild mustard greens rather than the broccoli described in another review) and it was delicious, especially with the spicy salami. We also shared a 1 litre of the house red and got a bottle of water. Towards the end of the meal, folks got coffee and I split a Tiramisu 3-ways. So I gotta say, I am not really a Tiramisu kinda gal, but the Tiramisu here really blew me away and I would totally get it again. I loved the firmness of the sponge, the alcohol taste was just right, the cream tastes fresh and rich, and then the best part - it was beautiful presented with lovely earthy chocolate syrup, lavishly spread out over the plate - I licked that plate half clean! We could not finish our pizza, so got take-away boxes and then the 4 of us who were splitting a separate bill, got a great surprise as cost was under €25 per person, so absolute bargain! It was a totally lovely evening with great food and totally hope to come back and try other pizzas! read more

Amazing pizza. How amazing? Let's put it this way- if I were back in the states, I'd still go here for pizza. It's *that* good. Their signature pie is the Bismarck- tomato, mozzarella, ham and a fried egg cracked in the middle. It's like a breakfast pizza for the gods. BTW- they'll tell you their pizzas are personal-sized, i.e. for one person. But unless you're just coming off a fast, you could probably split one between two people. Also, be prepared for them to laugh and yell "COCA-COLA!!" when you order a coke. I have no idea why, but it's pretty funny. read more

Without a doubt the best pizzeria in Brussels. Yes that's a bold statement but after many years of research - it's true. Momo's pizzas are made with real Italian flare given his time working there. If you have any doubts just listen to the tables around you - over half which will be made up of Italians. Sure the location can be a bit out of the way if you don't have a car, but there's a tram stop nearby. Summer evenings here see the terrace extended to the max and it's hard to find a spot. This is definitely no frills pizza - you come for the quality of the base, and in a group - if you are looking for a romantic pizza (?) go to Fratelli la Bufala in Chatelain for the pricer option. Take the 1/2 metre pizza to share between two on a giant wodden platter - each half can be different. If you come when it's busy expect to wait a while. This is definitely not a tourist spot - more of a local secret (perhaps I shouldn't even mention it here...) read more

Neapolitans living in Brussels rave about this place and some have dared to say it is 'as good as back home'. It may raise some eyebrows, but if you judge the place purely on the pizza, the dough and the textures then they may have a point. A word of caution though. If you're not familiar with Neapolitan pizza, then you may be in for a surprise. In it's traditional style, the Neapolitan pizza comes with a wetter than usual centre, and this is exactly what they deliver here. In fact, failing to be able to pick a slice up is quite normal. Be ready to use your cutlery. The style here is in tune with the history and traditions of the original Neapolitan pizza. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but do have to admit I prefer a crispier finish throughout. As for the restaurant; 'Momo' and his team may not come across as your habitual Italian bunch but they learned their trade in Naples and have the necessary knowhow to bring a great pizza to your plate. The restaurant layout is a bit out of this world, with what started as one room expanding to include what seems like the back room/kitchen and a garage. They have varying kinds of tables and chairs, from the wooden one's you had at school, to those you would use for you outdoor terrace seating. A rather unique setting, which may be a bit off-putting to some (can be noisy and quite untidy to say the least). Certainly not the kind for a romantic or any formal dining. Service is friendly though somewhat disorganized, which considering the rest befits the place well. So, to sum-up, a traditional Neapolitan pizza delivered in something close to what is best described as organized chaos. It will bring a smile to some but annoy others, though I certainly find it a worthwhile address and would recommend trying it at least once. The sizes are good and if there are two or more of you, I'd suggest the half metre pizzas, going half one topping, half another. This is definitely not a tourist hot spot, but it does get very busy. So at times expect to wait a while to be seated. read more

A meal at Posto Al Sole truly feels like a family environment. The restaurant is literally in a home with the dining room being the pseudo living room. I ordered up the margherita pie and watched hawkishly as it was prepared. My first impression was one of confusion. I couldn't crack how I felt about the taste. The crust had a fluffy and chewy complexion. The cheese was fine. What really stood out was the sauce. It had serious flavor and truly made the pizza one of the best I had tasted in Brussels. read more

I'm not sure I can say anything more than what has been said before but simply GO!!! I heard about this place through friends, we went and were floored by the pizza!!! Could this be even better than pizza I've had in Italy (granted, in Bologna, pizza is not their specialty but still was at a Napoli resto), I would say so!!!! Place is less than impressive (closer to hole-in-the wall if you ask me) but you know what, let the pizza speak for itself!! I'm Italian and I just have to say this: MOMO has the BEST PIZZA IN TOWN. I think this should be enough for a review. But OK, there is some more. First things first, some history. Momo stands for Mohammed, who is not Italian, but he learned how to make the best pizza of Brussels in Napoli. He opened the place with just a small room and he built his own real pizza oven (check the pictures on the wall). Little by little, without a real website, the word passed from mouth to mouth, and the Italians started simply loving the place. The only place with the real pizza and with decent prices. Momo renovated more rooms in the building and now the tables have multiplied. And in summer you can even sit on the terrace and enjoy a real street atmosphere. The legend even says that before Saint-Gilles built fence on the square you would from time to time have a football falling on your place from the kids playing (and shouting) around. He's now the king of pizzas in Brussels - so not bad as a result. This is no place for a romantic dinner, it's a loud, authentic pizzeria. Tip: take the "mezzo metro" - it's a half meter of pizza that you can divide in two people (or eat alone if you're super super super super hungry). You can choose two of the proposed tastes. It comes on a wooden platter that will take over your whole table. Tip2: Momo is one of the only pizza places in Brussels to do pizzas with "friarelli" - a specialty from Napoli. It's the best pizza in Brussels for me! And I am from Campania, the region of pizza! I have been going to Momo since some years now and saw the place growing from one small room to the three they have now. Great in summer when the have a lot of tables on the terrace! Try the "mezzometro", half meter of pizza where you can choose two flavours and share! My absolute favourites are bufala and "bianca con friarielli and salsiccia" ("white" pizza without tomato sauche with neapolitan broccoli and sausage). Very good are also the Momo, primavera and pleurottes! The staff can be a bit confused and messy but they are very friendly. If you are lucky, they offer you a digestive (limoncello, sambuca, grappa...) after the meal! Definitely a plus point and very Italian style! My suggestion is not to come on Fri-Sat since the place gets very busy. Momo now opened a new place close to the Saint Gilles city hall, but that one is more for take-away (yet, still amazing pizza and more!) read more

Anyone looking for a good meal, served by a friendly staff in a pleasant place should NOT go to this restaurant. I dined with a group of friends at Un Posto al Sole on a Saturday night and we were aggressed both by the staff and the people in the surrounding square - and all that, for a not-so-special pizza. This was by far my worse dining experience in Brussels, and I have lived here for ten years. The staff: when we pointed out to the waiter that the pizza he brought was not the one we ordered, he literally assaulted us verbally screaming that we should learn how to pass an order. At a certain point, we felt threatened by his attitude and didn't feel welcome at all at the restaurant. The pizza we ordered arrived 30 minutes later and the owner (Mohammed aka Momo) kept on exonerating his error. The area: During the dinner unidentified assailants threw twice some bottles at the terrace we were having dinner in. One of them was filled with a white liquid clearly meant to generate damage. It hit the head of a customer and the liquid spilled on our table dirtying in an irreversible way clothes of people who were sitting with us. Momo claimed that those who did it were "boys trying to have fun" - clearly showing that this is not a one-off incident. While the police came and did an excellent job stopping these attacks, this is by far not the kind of comment I think I need to leave concerning a restaurant in the center of Brussels. The food: The pizzas that we took were ok. Good and cheap but not exceptional in any way that would justify the arrogance of the staff and the unsafe environment. A lot of other restaurants in Brussels offer similar if not better pizzas in nicer establishments served by friendly waiters. If this place reminds anyone of Italy, I feel truly saddened. I am Italian I hope that if you visit my country you will meet more welcoming people and have an all-around better experience than this mediocre restaurant in an unsafe area. read more

Momo (Mohammed) is a great pizzaiolo, a nice fella and certainly one of the best in town. The pizza's are great and best of all: prices have remained steady. Few things are better in the area than sitting outside under the gazebo or on his terrace to enjoy a pizza (especially on a lovely, warm Summer evening). His pizza have never let me down. Don't come here looking for a fancy place as you won't find it. Inside the restaurant it's exceedingly hot and damp because of the stone oven, while the furniture is very basic. But is exactly as it should be. Not all waiters are up to the job, but that should hardly matter. You wouldn't come here when you're in a rush anyway. Rest assured, Momo will not disappoint. read more

I went to Posto Al sole, yesterday, it's gone...they have a new chef...the pizza is horrible, the buffala is not what is suppose to be, my 4 stagioni was uneatable, the new chef doesn't know how to make a true napoletane pizza. Yesterday was the last time I went there. I feel so sorry , because it use to be the best pizza in Brussels. If anybody know where the old chef works now, please leave a note. Excellent pizzas napolitan style, but unfortunately the service is very slow, you often have to chase them to ask for the menus, drinks or the bill. It's a shame because the food is really good. read more
