Postmates is a great service. They'll deliver virtually anything to you if you can't get out to get it yourself, or you just don't want to get out and get it yourself. Whatever the reason, Postmates is there for you. Most people (self included) use it to have food delivered to them from restaurants that do not deliver. Be it fast food or virtually any sit down restaurant that doesn't serve pizza. But you can also order things from the store, whatever it is. Groceries, hardware, whatever. The delivery fee can be a little steep. You pay based on how far the deliver driver has to drive from the location of the restaurant to where you are. And if it's a long drive, you're paying some money. But that's the cost of convenience, I guess. The good thing is, they almost always have specials on free deliveries etc. 3* because customer service needs some help and the price is a little high. But no lower than 3* because virtually nobody else is providing this type of service. And use my code to get $10 in credit. JTINDLE :) read more

These people are either incompetent, dishonest, or both. Two times we tried to order delivery, and were told it would be about an hour. Then, about an hour later, Postmates said they were cancelling the order because they had no drivers available. Seems like this timing probably left the restaurant holding the bag on a finished order that was then cancelled by Postmates. A third try yielded a $41 pizza delivered when it was cold and soggy. Postmates is pretty much only convenient to use at certain times. For instance, I don't use it unless I am seriously being lazy... The delivery fees can be a bit crazy, and depending on where you order from it can range from $2.99 to 7.99! If you scour the internet though, sometimes you can find some free delivery promos. It's not all bad though, it's really nice to use to get food from just about anywhere near you; especially sit-down restaurants or places that don't deliver themselves. The customer service just depends on who your deliverer is, but usually it's pretty good. The app can be inaccurate sometimes, causing your delivery driver to call you multiple times to figure out what you want. For example, I ordered Buffalo Wild Wings on Postmates once and they had to call me three different times to figure out things about my order that I couldn't select on the app. It's okay from time to time, but it can easily turn a $6 Taco Bell order into a $15 one. read more

I've only used Postmates a few times and 2x the delivery person lied about delivering my food to me. For those who don't use things like PM or doordash, these delivery companies has a real time tracker that shows when the driver has left the restaurant & is on their way on a map w/ a little car representing the driver. Both times, the car icon appeared to be at my home & as I waited for the driver to ring/knock nothing happened. The PM website showed my order as being delivered. I contacted PM & told them what happened. BOTH times the person at PM wanted to offer me a credit instead of my $ back. That really irked me. I demanded a full refund & asked they hire fewer liars & people who can follow simple directions. My home is super easy to find & if the driver can't find your house, they are supposed to call/text you. Neither time did the driver do this. read more

Between incomplete orders being delivered, drivers that can't follow simple directions and lousy customer service we'll never use postmates again. I strongly advise others not to use postmates too. Postmate didn't refund my order because they have a limit on refunds you can get on messed up orders. So when I reported my order was missing items that the delivery person told me about and to report it to get refund. Postmate didn't refund because of refund limit policy they have and to give the delivery person a bad report and restaurant and have a nice day. Done with this delivery service, it's always a crap shoot every time you order, if your going to get what you order. Usually 70% of the time order is wrong or missing something, 25% your order is correct and 5% of the time your order is not even close to what you ordered or they delivered you someone else's order. Then when you report it you only get partial credit never the actual cost of the item. We usually order something somewhere for a family of three. You get your order and realize one of the three dinners is missing so your left with the option of splitting your other two dinners so the third family member can eat or you have to run up to nearest McD's to that family member something to eat. When Postmates should make the driver go back and get the missing item and not charge you for your meal. Postmates is literally one of the worst companies out there....PERIOD read more

HORRIBLE here in CHARLOTTE! Beware and use at your own risk. Looking at these reviews, it looks like this scam is the norm. So I ordered from Boston Market, food, totaling about $20 to be delivered to my apartment. My Driver was a man named MARCUS A. So when the time came to receive the order, I missed two calls from two (323) numbers. I tried to call back, but guess what, both of the numbers were disconnected. He did not even show up to my apartment to knock on the door, like a normal delivery. Like most of these logistics delivery companies, Postmates uses outbound dummy numbers via their apps, for their drivers to call out on. So, If you ever want to reach someone back, you're out of luck and your money is gone! This is exactly what happened to me. Marcus listed the order as being delivered. But it wasn't delivered to me, at my apartment. I believe he stole it and ate the food! I immediately called a number for postmates CS that I searched out via google. Waited for about 15 minutes and all they did was apologize and credit the money back to my card, which will take 3-5 days to post. It took 3-5 seconds to charge it! I also called the Boston Market that the order was picked up from and they said that all they do is make it and give it to whoever comes in and requests the pickup. Now my thing is this, if you're using these delivery services, isn't there a way to have that driver check in via a portal that shows who they are and their ID# - showing that they picked up an order? How can a driver jut come in pick up food and walk out? I'm so sure that these drivers know exactly that they can get away with not delivering an order, take the food for themselves and mark it as being delivered and alls well that ends well in a DISHONEST days work! Apparently the drivers employed by Postmates are not required to learn how to read a map. We've ordered twice from them and the food was never delivered although they stated it was after an hour wait. Customer service is done only through email and not through phone support with 1 to 3 days to wait for a refund for an order that never was received. I ordered from a restaurant that offered delivery through Postmates. The order was to come in 45 minutes. Over an hour later, I went online to see if they had some tracking on the driver which they did. The driver was going away from our house (which is less than ten minutes from the restaurant) and the delivery ETA was going up instead of down. After 10 more minutes I called the restaurant and was told the driver picked up our order 20 minutes ago. About an hour and a half later, he finally showed up. Walking up to the door with liquid running out the bottom of the bag. I emailed Postmates and they said they would do nothing for me because I ordered from the restaurant and didn't have an account with Postmates. Said I should be following up with the restaurant. I emailed back stating that the food was not the issue and that it was the delivery/driver that caused the problem. Still they said that without a postmates account they have no record of the order, etc. I told them I could send them the information they require from when I ordered and got a confirmation. If you want to go into the hole while working a job this is the job for you. You will spend 30 to 45 minutes per delivery for $4 to $5. I spent 4 hours working on the platform for $15.50 for the day. I spent $27.00 on gas and $10.00 wear and tear on my vehicle. For 4 hours I made -$2.50 per hour. I receive a confirmation text from Postmates at 4:30 pm that the expensive dinner I ordered for my 92 year old mother from an upscale restaurant will be delivered between on time (between 5:30 and 6:00 pm.) By 6:30 I haven't heard more so I call my mother. No dinner. I call the restaurant. They tell me no order was placed and they don't work with Postmates. Now wait a second - I ordered the meal from the Postmates site. They took my order and my money and sent a confirmation. Of course there's no way to contact Postmates to inquire about the screw-up. I write a quick complaint to Postmates. They respond two days later with a "Sorry for the inconvenience. We won't charge you." Meanwhile my 92 year old mother is left scrambling to put together dinner by herself on Christmas Eve. You be the judge. Paid for a year membership for "free" delivery for orders over $15. The catch was that your "fee" was almost the price of delivery every time you ordered. Used the app on my girlfriends phone who doesn't have the membership. The fee was significantly less, plus they send her a free delivery code almost weekly. Very angry and feel robbed. Not only are they a horrible company sometimes you will have wonderful delivery drivers and sometimes your food never shows up. It took 90 minutes to receive cold fish sandwiches and a "service fee" of $12. The food order was correct and would've been good if it were delivered timely. Wow! I have never given a business 1 star before. I would have given them 0 stars if it had been an option. One week ago, I ordered Donatos Pizza via Postmates - had to go this route since Donatos doesn't deliver to my house. I ordered two pizzas, ended up being $40 worth of food. A driver named Sierra was assigned to deliver it. When she showed up, her and I guess her significant other were in a van delivering, and she did not make eye contact with me and laughed the whole time we were interacting. Upon getting inside, I opened one of the pizzas to find that not only was it the wrong pizza (I ordered one with lots of toppings and this one was plain cheese) but, Sierra and her companion had eaten a few of the pieces!!! Probably no surprise to anyone here that it's about impossible to get ahold of Postmates. Their customer service is a joke, and I have been going in circles with them for a week. I emailed them of the issue and they wrote back with a canned message "Sorry the quantity of your order was wrong, we will refund you for half of your order." And I said NO - look, the driver ate my food! I want refunded for the entire order, it was a very creepy situation! Postmates wrote back and said "sorry that your food never arrived, we will look into this." I literally have an email thread about 20 emails long with them. I eventually received an email that I would receive a full refund. NEVER once did anyone acknowledge that the driver had eaten my food. I'm sure she's still working for Postmates. After noticing that my refund was never posted to my bank account, I contacted them again and they said that they were unable to give me a full refund, but could maybe give me partial and that they'd look into it. I wrote them back saying that they were going back on their promise to me, and that they can't just change their minds about refunding me. Morning meeting, thought I would order breakfast. The owner of the restaurant here in Germantown, MD had Postmates listed for delivery service. Ordered at 9:25 AM,got an email and a text saying it would be here between 10:00 and 10:05. At 10:11 I get an update saying it would be here around 10:20. THEN I get another message saying that my order had been cancelled because they didn't have a driver. Okay, this sucks. Knowing the owner, I figured that she already had my order ready and my meeting was over so I drove over there. After the ordered was confirmed through subway and the driver arrived and waited for my order, I get a text from the delivery driver saying the store was closed. Then I receive a text from postmates saying the driver had an emergency and my order would not be delivered. Obviously someone was lying (my money says the driver). So... after waiting at least 45 min from the time i placed my order, I get lied to by their driver and do not receive my order. i made an order and waited about over an hour for it and nothing. it said it would be delayed a bit so I did t mind the wait. called the restaurant after a while longer. they told me it was ready. driver was showing up as at the store picking up the order. it then said a different driver was getting it. I just figured ok, maybe they didn't want to wait anymore. I see the 2nd driver driving away, so I reach out to her. she tell me it was cancelled on her end when I did no such thing. I received a phone call from an anonymous worker at the restaurant and she told me the 1st driver ended up coming and picking it up. so he took it and kept my order. I paid about $30 for that order, and put in a complaint about it. i've received no refund or response. The worst service I ever experienced. I ordered my lunch and the order was never received by the restaurant. However the charge on my credit card was immediately. You can never get someone on the phone to complain. They offer a chat but there was nobody to chat with me. Finality they credited the amount to Google pay which I don't have and don't want. Terrible. Will not be using this serice again. First, I literally watched the driver pass my location per GPS and, went 45 minutes out of the way. By the time the driver delivered our food I did not receive my drink nor the sauces I requested and the shrimp was completely inedible. I was as if the shrimp had been sitting in a basket all day and they gave me the five pieces left over. You would think that for 9.99 that they make you pay, they would give you more then 5 pieces of old shrimp one side and a bisquit. I am highly disappointed in this service.
