She made me feel welcomed right away even though I had never been there before and took the time to really help me find exactly what I was looking for. She wasn't pushy at all, just super kind, patient, and really knew her stuff. It felt like shopping with a friend who genuinely cared. The store itself is full of amazing finds so much more than just jewelry! It's the kind of place where you walk in for one thing and end up wanting to explore everything. And I love how Six Sisters has expanded into consignment as well. There was a fun mix of more expensive, new items and some great condition, used clothes as well. They range from casual to formal -- I even saw a few bathing suits. Six Sixters had a full range of sizes. There were several great Derby dresses to choose from, plus Six Sisters is selling several fascinators to go with them. Add in the great accessories and shoes, and you can come away with a whole look! My SIL bought several items while we were there. The clerk was helpful, and overall, it was such a delightful shopping experience. I'm excited to go back!

We were at a D56 signing event and purchased a ton of houses, one of which we were told to come back and get later, for it was a retired display. I forgot...this was 4 - FOUR - years ago. Popped in this past December to pick up a Snowman house that my daughter wanted, and sure enough, they remembered me, mask and all. They brought out my house, faded receipt, just waiting on us. That's honest business. For that alone I will always shop with this group. Again, staff is friendly and knows their product. I have referred countless folks to them and will continue to do so.

Oscar's is one of those neighborhood gems that offers a hint of yesteryear with gadgets of today…read more If you live in or near Crescent Hill, you'll be pleased to find Oscar's sitting at the corner of Frankfort Ave and Franck Ave. It's a small but mighty shop, very walkable, easy, free out-front street parking. It feels very mom-and-pop. The people working are always very friendly and knowledgeable -- and fast. And, surprisingly affordable, even cheaper than big box hardware in some cases. I've lived in the neighborhood for oh gosh, 22 years. Eek. And they have been a godsend for Crescent Hill homeowners like me. It's not just the convenience, it's the ability to provide services that old homes need. For example, my house was built in 1928. I still have, and use an old school deadbolt on my front door.. with its original key. They are the only place in town (that I've found) who can cut replicas of this particular key style.. and guess what they charge? $1.99 a key! That's it. Pretty sure the HD is around $4-5 a key. Example 2: I haven't replaced all the windows in my house yet. A few years ago I needed to repair some of the screens and a few cracked window panels. The old school kind, 4 aluminum sides and a sheet of glass. Guess who was the only place that still repairs those?.. you betcha. Example 3: I had a ceiling fan in need of an odd-sided light bulb. Guess where I found one? Small local businesses like Oscar's truly make this neighborhood special. Next time you need a tool or things for a home repair, especially weird, older-home things, don't sleep on Oscar's.

If I truly had time to peruse I bet I would find even more that would be helpful to have. This store is larger than you would think when just looking at its front. A locally owned, neighborhood hardware store -- love I can find what I need so close!
