However, after talking to Ms. Pamela, she did not think the chairs needed as much work as I thought. I picked my material (lower grade that was very nice) and placed with the double liner, the cost was 20% off custom made drapes and I was able to get 1 and a 1/2 width wider drapes! The width of the slandered drapes was not wide enough. I also purchased a material at the Fabric Outlet in Charlotte (search google for location) and took it here and had custom made drapes! Prices for custom made drapes at 20% discount was a much better price than the 24' wide drapes they sell here in the store. Ask for Rebecca she's a wonderful help!

However, the salesperson assisting me expressed that she believed the price was too low. She took the package to the front of the store to consult with another staff member, who noted that the packaging was sealed and the pricing was inside. She suggested that the matter be referred to the owner. After a discussion in the back, I was informed that the marked price was incorrect and that the correct price was actually double. This is not the first time I've encountered inconsistencies with pricing at your store, which is both frustrating and concerning from a customer standpoint. I hope this issue will be addressed to ensure clarity and fairness in future transactions. I would say the items they sale are quality and beautiful, but when there are discrepancies in price, it makes me wonder if changes are the same for all people or do they discriminate based on age, gender, race or other. WOW! I have never said of felt the last part of this until the encounter at this store.

Just fyi, this place will ruin you for any other furniture store; you'll never be able to go back to any of the chains without comparing them to Cowbridge and their level of craftsmanship and quality. I'm very disappointed in my experience with Harkey Tile and Stone…read more I went to them for my bathroom remodel, worked with Terri Wheeler on design and tile choices. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until she recommended a tile installer. When we were working on measurements, Terri stated that they don't sell tiles "by the tile" they come in square feet. Technically this is correct but when trying to figure out the square feet needed for each tile, Terri kept saying that they are not responsible for measurements and the installer is responsible. Well, Terri had the measurements and did the math but when it came down to doing the deal she wanted to release her liability and I ended up ordering more tile than I probably should. Because the installer broke my tiles I had to reorder and guess what- The person at Harkey taking the order never asked how many square feet I needed. My 24 x 48 tiles came in a box of 2 and my 12x24 floor tile came in a box of 6 tiles. Getting Terri to call me back was a process, there was ALWAYS an excuse and on one call she even divulged personal information about someone at Harkey that was none of my business. I'm not sure if she felt this would soften my bad experience but it only made me question her even more. After having a very challenging and bad experience with the installer that Harkey recommended, I reached out Drew Messenger, manager, to try and get my problem resolved. At this point I was already 2.5 months into a very small and simple bathroom remodel. Drew said he would assist in getting it resolved. Well, he did to a certain point. After back-and-forth with Harkey and the tile installer I ended up having to threaten litigation to the tile installer to get my bathroom completed. I was left with a USED vanity that was improperly installed, etched marble floor, grout haze on tiles, damaged drain cover and personal items that were used and or taken from my home. During this whole process, I was also getting a quote from Harkey on installing my kitchen countertops. Terri forwarded me an email with my updated quote that was $665 over my original quote with a note in the email from Drew to "increase each at $200 each". When I asked Drew why he emailed Terri with the increase his response was "Since you retained a lawyer for your issues regarding your tile installation and threatened to use them leads us to believe you'll be happier with a different fabricator and to consider my quote null and void." Drew is right! After my experience with Terri Wheeler and Drew Messenger at Harkey Tile and Stone, I do not want to work with them on any other project and I would advise you to consider what I wrote. Definitely do not rely on them for install recommendations! Know your measurements and don't let them tell you that they don't know how many tiles come in an order because they do. The tile I purchased was "their most popular tile" so to say you don't know how many tiles come in a box is an outright lie. In addition to the lack of customer service, their prices are higher than others that I have found in the area--SAME product and better customer service.

Original review: I did not ultimately choose to take my business to this company. The good: the speed with how quickly they responded to my inquiry and answered questions I had. The bad: my inquiry was made 2/2/19, the same day an ad/coupon ran in the Charlotte Observer that offered free labor expiring in January. Although we were only 2 days into February, and the ad ran in February, they would not honor the coupon. Charlotte Observer messed up, but I feel they should have honored for a potential customer who inquired on the day that the coupon ran and was only 2 days beyond their planned expiration date. Okay well what about the future? Guess they didn't care for my business at any time. Customer service and honesty means a lot and this business is missing it. Editing review to add based off of business response: My rating is accurate as I received a negative experience with my back and forth communications with this business. Do they deserve a 1? No because I did not use them, so I can't attest to their work. But do they deserve a 5? No. Whether I chose to use them or not, my contact with them from start to finish is all part of my involvement with this business. They could have handled the situation differently. All other businesses that I have contacted at this time that have either said they are booked, can't do anything because of the COVID issues, or are just waiting on me to make a decision, have all responded with giving me rough estimates for the job and will give me firm estimates and help me when they can get me on the schedule. This was a very different experience with this business who is now "willing" to help. Hopefully they can use this feedback to learn how to positively respond to potential customers even if they are not in agreement.
