Birthday Flowers in the Age of COVID-19 -…read more Somethings in life must be celebrated on time regardless of surrounding risks. So it was that a bouquet of fresh cut flowers were required to honor my wife's birthday in the middle of a quarantine stay at home order. Roses didn't feel spontaneous enough, nor as crazy ebullient as the moment needed. No, the creative hand of a true florist and flora lover was the way to go. I used the third party online vendor I had worked with before, but to my good fortune they subbed out to Penny's in Glenside for execution. They were on time and on my wavelength. We left the package on the porch for a day out of an abundance of caution to allow any Covid cooties to be rendered inert. When we brought it inside to the kitchen, and unbound its wrapping, we beheld a riot of daisies, sunflowers, zinnias, red carnations, a few gorgeous coral roses and dried sinuatum. They were soft to touch and scented like the dawn of Spring. Most importantly, they generated the emotional response I was hoping for from the object of my affections. She kvelled like a purring kitten, and treated me like I was the celebrant, not her. Just as it should be. Penny's had it exactly right. I now have a new florist.

The pricing was comparable to another places, the arrangement looked exactly like the pictures that was presented to them upon ordering. The business was clean upon entering with a multiple number of flowers and live plants.

This flower shop has been in the same location since I was a kid - I believe it's been there my…read moreentire life. But I'd never actually had a reason to go in until now. I stopped by on my way to the cemetery to get some flowers for the person I was visiting. The guy who helped me was super nice and friendly. We had a nice chat and he gave me exactly what I needed complete with a special container with a stake on the bottom for placing near a grave. I'm glad this little shop has lasted the years and hope it continues to be there!

Regarding Mother's Day flowers, this place is a horrible rip off! We ordered flowers for mom, who…read morelives in the area and is a regular customer, so we wanted to surprise her on her day. We placed the order a week ago, telling them specifically what kind of floral bouquet we wanted and what we were going to spend (a lot more $ than most people, I'm sure). We called two days ahead of time to verify Sunday's pickup time. There was some confusion between an employee, and the manager, who took the original order. They said they will call us back, and never did. We called them back an hour later and confirmed the order and price. We go to pick up the flowers and they are the smallest and ugliest bunch of crap flowers we've ever seen and NOT what we've ordered -- we said, no way for that price we're taking these flowers; after some argument, we found a much better bouquet in the store and the manager gave them to us, wrapped in cellophane minus the vase (we were supposed to have them boxed too). We will never go back there!
