I have shopped at Poseidon for about a year now and this is my go to place for all things fish. They have a huge selection of freshwater and saltwater fish, plants, rocks, fish food, any kind of supplies that you need for your aquarium, and knowledgeable staff. I have never had a fish die and they don't even require quarantine. their prices are reasonable, which also makes it worth the 30 minute drive out there. I bring in my own empty jugs and get RO water for $.50 a gallon. I know they have salt water also, but I don't have any saltwater fish so I can't speak to that. My only wish is that they would update their website because that more people would know how great this place is. read more

This place sucks all the way around. Any fish you get will kill all your fish. They have dirty tanks. The people that run it are completely rude. Fish people usually want to help you especially if you spend money in their store but these people don't care about the fish. Everything you buy will die and kill your tank. Don't be swayed by the stock. Go to the fish tank or blue aquatics where you can purchase fish from a real fish person that knows the hobby. Seriously petco and PetSmart is a much better option and that's saying something. read more

My girlfriend and I travel a lot for work. and we started a tradition. Go to a local fish store in every city and buy a Cory cat. This time we went to The Fish Tank. (where they had pure oxygen, and gentle employees.) We got a Cory from them. Last minute decided to go to Poseidon's to see what they had. We show up, and Andy is working. I've met him before, and we chat for a moment. We find a teeny tiny baby sterbai Cory cat. (super cute) and I had never seen a baby before. Girlfriend talks me into buying it. Andy bags it. Except he like hurricanes the poor thing into a bag. ever seen finding nemo? the girl that shakes the bag? same thing except replace little girl with a guy with a beard. he shook the "collection cup" (clear box thingy) he shook the bag, he spun it around super fast and a million times to get the bag to wrap so he could tie it. (they don't have pure oxygen by the way). despite all that, I pay for the Cory and leave. Before we get out of the parking lot, tiny Cory is on his back gasping for air. I set his bag in my lap on its side and let him chill for a little. That didn't work. We take him back in. Andy says "what happened" I said " you killed him" (in so many words. Its also worth noting that when he was playing shake weight with the bag both my girlfriend and i were like "yo, relax". So then, Andy goes on to say its probably because I (ME) let him get stuck in a corner of the bag. (which cories are known to do but like what?! he was in a bag, inside another bag. I didn't turn the bag upside down (because the rubber band was on incorrectly and it was already leaking). There is a way to bag fish that ensures there are no corners to get stuck in. He didn't do that. So I got the blame for the fish dying. Andy went to drop the fish back in the tank (*where he proceeded to shake it more until i took the bag from him and did it my damn self) and then he went off to bag a replacement (matae, since they didn't have any more sterbai.) I went to supervise that, and Ashley (girlfriend) stayed to keep an eye on sterbai baby. (Who did not improve by the way). We leave with the matae. both really upset that Andy essentially just killed a baby cory right in front of us (girls, man, I'll tell ya.) So what do we do? drive back to The Fish Tank to get a redemption baby, and to get the matae some real oxygen. I was willing to pay these people to get the matae real oxygen so he would survive the drive home. We told the guys over at The Fish Tank what happened. More specifically Will. Will promptly gave us oxygen for free, and a free baby panda cory. They're like 9 blocks apart. Don't waste your time or money at Poseidon's. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Go to The Fish Tank less than 10 minutes down the road for superior service and great selections! Heres the story: On a business trip with the girlfriend and we always visit the local fish stores. Decided to check out here. Found the cutest baby Sterbi Cory and it was the last one left so of course we have to get it. Proceeded to get Andy to bag the Sterbi for us. He then violently gets the Cory in the bag while shaking and violently twisting the bag to tie it. Once its tied it wasn't even tight enough. Since the bag wasn't tied correctly, I took special care not to let the Cory get caught in the corner or a wrinkle in the bag. Once we were in the car we checked on the little guy and he was on his side gasping for air. Went back into the store and showed Andy to which he accussed us of smooshing him in a corner of the bag. He proceeded to attempt to untie the bag in which he was making a hurricane for the little guy. My girlfriend took the bag from him and dropped the Cory in the tank herself. Andy gave us a different Cory but he double bagged it to spite us saying "there he can't get stuck in a corner now". Those bags weren't even tied correctly because the one was leaking and there were still wrinkles in the bags. Needless to say the Sterbi didn't make it and Andy had no compassion saying "oh we will get more in". We went to a place called The Fish Tank less than 10 minutes away in which has pure oxygen for the bags that we visited before Poseidon earlier that morning. We went to ask for some of the oxygen because we had a 2 hour drive ahead of us. We were more than willing to pay for it but Will was amazing and an all around great guy and listened to the trauma we just went through. He rebagged the Cory from Poseidons and gave us a baby Panda Cory at no charge. Don't waste your time with Poseidon! Go to The Fish Tank for anything you need! read more

They have a good selection, but their tanks are Very Dirty, and they have green and brown algae all over their tanks, and they have green and brown algae all over their corals, when you buy corals and fish from dirty algae tanks it causes algae in your tank, that is called hitchhiking, not good. read more

There is no aqaurium like it , especially if your an avid hobbyist . They have everything from freshwater , cichlids , live coral , salt waterfish to goldfish. Also they have every piece of equipment for the hobby that you can think . Everything is professional. Best aqaurium around. read more

These guys have a great selection of fish. Their selection of products is more varied than any other and they don't seem to just sell one brand like most fish stores do. I got some Geophagus Altifrons (4) from them and they were clean, beautiful and happy fish. Still doing great. I have been going here since I started my saltwater aquarium hobby. This place is honestly the only good saltwater aquarium store in the greater Daytona Beach are. Everything is healthy and the corals are good execept really expensive. The workers are not to knowledgeable except the owner they are also rude and don't know how to treat customers read more

this place is AMAZING!!!!! first, please do not let the outside of this place discourage you. it may look like some regular little corner shop, but there is a lot in store for you. its called Poseidon Aquarium, but should be called Poseidon's Treasure. i am just getting started with buliding an all natural saltwater tank.all the employees were very friendly. i had Rob help me. he was very patient, spending about an hour an a half with me explaining everything i need to do to get started, and the place was very busy. he was very informative!!!! he answered every question i asked, and believe me i had a lot being a rookie! he did not once pressure me into buying anything. i walked in there expecting to spend a few hundred dollars, if not more, but only ended up spending $70. i work in sales and no how people can take advantage of new clients. i easily waked in there with a huge target on my back reading sucker, instead i was treated like i was a long time friend. so in customer service this place goes above and beyond. now for the selction of everything fish and related to fish.....this place has everything!!!!!!!!!! not just everything, but options galore! their prices are great, comparing to other stores, even the major pet stores. i have been shopping around and no one can beat this place with the amount of options. not until i was about to check out did i realize there was a second half to this place. they basically split the store in half. one side is for salt water, the other for fresh water. ican go on and on about how AMAZING this place is, but you will just have to visit it yourself.they have me as a loyal customer!!!! you don't have to waste your time going anywhere else( walmart, pet supermarket, petco, petsmart, or any other privately owned aquarium shop), this is a one stop shop, i promise!!!!!!! read more
