This place was recommended to me for the view and the breakfast. I also later learned the Harrison Ford film Clear and Present Danger was filmed here, which would have been enough of a reason alone for me to go.
I knew we weren't going to make breakfast, so I called just to make sure they were open for lunch and the first thing the guy on the phone warned me about was that breakfast was no longer being served. That must be some breakfast. When we arrived shortly after 1 PM on a Sunday, they were breaking down what was left of the buffet. We definitely missed out.
As for lunch, they would only serve us apps until 1:30. Main dishes were available to order after that. We tried for the empanadas, but they were out so we instead got the garlic shrimp and mushrooms and the Oaxacan cheese quesadillas. The boys were happy with the latter (I didn't try). The shrimp were finger-licking good and the rice was cooked to perfection. For a main, I went with the duck enchiladas in red mole. They were absolutely delicious. Way too much mole, as is often the case with most authentic Mexican mole dishes. And the shredded lettuce wasn't necessary, but the enchiladas had great flavor.
The service was excellent and the views are incredible. This is a great place to have a relaxing meal, enjoy the sights and a quiet break from the craziness on the main street and take lots of pictures. read more
