Aside from the wedding were in town for, Jardines de Mexico was the highlight of the trip! It exceeded my expectations and was worth the time to get out there, walk the grounds for about two hours, and frantically get back to the hotel for our friend's wedding. Honestly, I wish we could have stayed longer. Thought to be the largest garden in the world, Jardines de Mexico spans more than 51 hectares (~126 acres), located near the southwestern side of Lake Tequesquitengo. It features seven large-scale thematic gardens inspired by the design, flora, and essense of different countries. There's the cactus garden, the Japanese garden, the tropical garden, the "Labyrinth of the senses," the four seasons garden, "ConSentidos," and my unexpected favorite - the Italian garden. We almost dismissed the Italian garden because we didn't know what to expect other than statues and maybe some tall Italian Cypress trees. My breath was *literally* taken away when we walked up the steps and overlooked the grand balcony and WOW. The view. Do not miss this garden. Another favorite of mine was the Japanese garden, along with the tropical garden. Engulfing yourself in nature - the plants, the flowers, the butterflies, the water elements - is a nice reprieve from the city. A lovely way to recharge and also get grounded. Not that some gardens might be closed due to maintenecnce. A few gardens we passed through were prepping for private events (yes. they do private events such as weddings and corporate gatherings). They also host large-scale events, like concerts, and seasonal events (for the holidays). Admission is $275MXP for visitors (13+), $225 seniors, and $125 for children (3 to 12 years). They offer a 20% ticket discount for locals of Morelos and teachers. You can buy tickets online or at their ticket office. Wear comfy shoes, a hat (not sure if they allow umbrellas), sunscreen, sunglasses, up to one 1L bottled water, and a charged phone for pics! Pros: o There are shuttles/trams that take you to different parts of the park, even if it's over the next garden (which is still a walk). o It's dog-friendly! There are cooling off/wading pools throughout the park in the warmer months, and also doggy water stations. o There is plenty of parking, and the covered parking area is provided by mixed use solar panels (shade for patrons and energy for the park!). o There are onsite restaurants and cafes, plenty of restrooms, some seating areas along the walking paths, a gift shop, and an art gallery. What needs some improvement: o They need more signage. You can easily get lost. o There are no rideshares around, nor a line of taxis to get you out. If you call for a taxi, expect it to arrive within 45 min. Pet policy: o $70 admission fee, and one dog per adult o Must wear a leash at all times; no retractable leashes allowed o No dog food for sale, so bring your own. o Clean up after your pet.

The restaurant experience was OK but we asked at the entrance if they have other options in addition to the buffet and they said that we could order from their regular menu but when we got to the actual restaurant they said that the buffet was the only option if we wanted to eat. The food was OK but they took a while to refill some of the dishes. We were lucky to get there before a huge group so we were able to get enough food. The buffet is a little expensive for locals but it is worth if you are hungry and can take advantage of the variety of options. There are several gardens including Japanese, Italian, tropical and cacti. I was a little disappointed when they confirmed two of the exhibitions were closed but the ones that were opened were really nice. Since we visited during Christmas time, they also had a special event with dance and performances. There were several vendors selling food and souvenirs including free coffee if you posted a picture on their social media. There was also a nice touch at the end where you could grab a free plant to take home. I would like to go back to visit the gardens that were closed.

This is the best hotel I've stayed at in CDMX on approximately 30+ trips here. This includes the W (nope), Westin (uh-uh), Sheraton (chaos, if there's a demonstration - and there usually is one ongoing), even the St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott - all too stuffy. Santiago from NJ, by way of the NYU Shanghai campus, was excellent and almost everyone here speaks English perfectly. I felt like I was in NYC, except that the service was better and the staff was much more accommodating. Breakfast was included, nothing spectacular, but everything was solid, good coffee, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, good jams and yogurt. Perfect, light start to the day. The room was not big, but well laid out with every amenity, refrigerator, beverages, Nespresso machine, bottled water and a selection of assorted snacks - all complimentary (except alcohol, unnecessary with all the good bars nearby). The gym was literally situated in a single hotel room on the lower floor. It was tiny, but fully equipped for a one-person, HIIT session. The single issue was the incessant bass drone from the bar nearby. Earplugs didn't work because it wasn't possible to mask the low Hz frequency effectively. Every major museum was about a 25 minute stroll through scenic neighborhoods to get to. Some of the best restaurants (Nobu, Sylvestre) were around the corner. All in all this is probably the best place to stay in CDMX. If not for the bass from the bar, which was totally not the hotel's fault, this was probably the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in Mexico (no children or pets, I think, but not sure). No drunk teens shouting in the hallways - idyllic. About $500-$700/night depending on date. Totally worth it.

This is what Bread and Breakfast hotels are made of…read more If you are in Mexico or anywhere near Cuernavaca and you are planning to get away , this is the place you want to be . It's beautiful , serene , a breath of fresh air. They will take good care of you here without being intrusive . The hotel is white , everything is white . I don't know how they maintain it but it gives it an air of grandeur and beauty you won't see anywhere else . The rooms are huge . We stayed in the 03. Huge king size bed , wide bathroom and shower (no bath) . Stayed here for 3 nights . All the rooms have a large common lounge area or balcony where you can sit and read or have your meetings . The rooms also have a an air conditioner and a ceiling fan. The ceilings are really high so the air takes a while to circulate but once it does you are in for a treat even in summer . In the 03 room I noticed some noise at night from the 100 bars / restaurants on the corner of the hotel . Okay maybe not 100 but there's a lot of them . There's also a DJ in the hotel spinning on Friday nights so if you are one of those light sleepers , shut all your windows (bathroom and bedroom ) and that should help . They also have ear plugs free on the both sides of the bed stand so the noise shouldn't be a problem . They have two pools here . One is in the middle of the restaurant (for the extroverts ), there's a more secluded one on the other side of the hotel for is introverts . You'll find it. The menu here is robust . Breakfast is free . They have Mexican options ( chillaquilles and such ) American options (scrambled eggs ) and healthy options (granola , fruits , oatmeal ) . The dinner menu is robust too. Tried the pork belly, lentil soup, didn't care for the Caesar salad but that's just me (too much mayo) . Prices range from 7-10 usd per meal. There was paella on the weekend when I was there . The other reason you should stay here is that it's central and only a walking distance from all the tourist places you want to go here . It's opposite the palacio de cortez, right beside the zocalo, town square , market places , two minutes walk from the Robert Brady Museum, the cathedrals , it's all one big square . I found this place on trip advisor and I'll gladly recommend , give some pointers and even come back . It's even more beautiful at night when they have lights in all the trees and candles lit up everywhere . It will convert the Un-romantics ! Don't forget to tip the waiters , i noticed nobody was doing that . They are ever so attentive without being intrusive and they all speak some level of English. If you buy a bottle of wine outside the hotel, they will open it for you at the bar . PS- I looked at other hotels on trip advisor and getting here Iv seen two other ones I looked at . I'm glad I picked this place . Take a trip to Tepoztlan to see the mountains of you have time .The hotel will call you a cab that will wait for you for 3 hours and bring you back . We paid 600 pesos. It's a magical experience.

Staff members gave contradicting information. We had a wedding to attend, and they ended up making my guest change in the lobby bathroom. The food and drinks were good, but I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
