The pictures were beautiful so I gave them a call. The woman I spoke with over the phone was very sweet and professional. The photo session itself went fine although she seemed to struggle with getting good pics of a toddler. My main issue is: I think this whole experience was kind of a rip off. For $900 I received 1 8x10, 2 5x7, 3 4x6, and 8 wallets of 1 pose. A DVD labeled with a misspelled last name and 1 framed montage(?) of 6 poses in a cheap black frame. The pictures themselves were nothing special. The staff was very nice and professional and I'm sure these prices are normal for the industry, I was just not impressed with what I got for the money I paid and would not do it again unless I had a lot of money to throw away. If the pictures were spectacular I think I would have felt differently, but honestly I like the pics I had taken at Flash for his 18 month milestone way better than these...and I got twice the pictures at half the cost.

They'll be glad to "allow" you to buy an extra package or pay $15 for a "yearbook fee". :( Write your principal if you get bad pictures! These people won't do anything for you without pressure from the school. I sure will.... We deserve better!

My original time (which I chose because it worked best for us) was changed to 8:00 p.m. without anyone asking if that time worked. Under their policy, the new time did not allow enough notice for me to cancel without a fee. We arrived on time. The employee who said she was the assistant manager, Val, was in the back talking with another couple. She said "just a sec" from where she was and then ignored us for about 15 minutes with no acknowledgment. When it was time to ring up that couple, she finally spoke to us only to tell us to move so they could get to the counter. When she finally addressed us, she said, "No pets?" We said no. She told us our session had been moved because I had booked a pet session. I explained I had booked a family session. She snapped at me and insisted it was a pet session, then grabbed a paper to "prove" it. The paper did not have my name on it at all. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, she snapped at me for not noticing it wasn't my name and made a comment about my "tone," even though I remained calm. I stated two facts: that I had not booked a pet session and that we had been left waiting about 15 minutes after our original time was moved. She said she could "just cancel the session" and then told us she was canceling our appointment, so my family walked out. I went back in to ask for the manager's name and contact information; she initially refused to provide it and only gave me the name and main store number after I persisted. She then called a JCPenney shift lead and said she was having us "kicked out of the building." In front of the shift lead, she stated multiple times that she would not take our picture. The shift lead was kind and tried to help, but there was nothing she could do, and we left without any photos. Later, I received a notice that the appointment was marked as canceled and I was charged a $25 cancellation fee. I did not cancel this appointment. The associate canceled it and repeatedly refused to provide the service. We showed up on time, followed the process, and left with no photos and a cancellation fee for an appointment canceled and refused by their employee. The JCPenney shift lead was professional, but our experience with the portrait studio staff was extremely disappointing.
