I'm pretty sure the smell and seeing and hearing the crackling wood just carried me in to our table…read more it was magical. The table ended up sharing steaks and sides and even the initial bread they brought out was to die for. The steaks were cooked PERFECTLY (iykyk) and instead of wine our server was so cool we ended up all ordering cocktails and ultimately a round of espresso martinis (if you follow my reviews you know how I feel) and of course a shot of fernet. The entire experience was curated beautifully to a T. I will say we got lucky and got the best table in the house tucked in the corner by the fire place toward the front windows so I can't speak for some of the other table spots as far as comfortability as some did look fairly close together. Highly recommend and I will be going back!

The steaks at Hierro are better than Don Julio, better than Cauce, better than La Carniceria…read more Those places are all great..:but Hierro is incredible. The service is incredible even on Sundays when they are packed. It's a fun atmosphere and the staff is really fun. I always eat here at least twice when I am on a trip to BA. Once when I get in and then I always make it my last steak that I eat before going to the airport! The owner Rodrigo is a really nice guy and he is there almost every day sweating, cooking, cleaning and helping. I love places like this and if Bourdain was alive...he would be putting this place on his show!! The ribeye, provaletta, and a bottle of Alamos are my go to there!

I booked this class without knowing what to expect and was amazed by the way they teach this class…read more It's a hands on experience where you're going to be learning about Argentine cuisine and culture. We made empanadas and chipá from scratch and every dish was paired with wine. This guys are phenomenal and their dishes are amazing. Chef Juan, Lautaro and Agustin are great hosts and very passionate about their craft. I would definitely recommend this activity if visiting Buenos Aires solo or with a group.

Hands down one of my favorite experiences while visiting Buenos Aires…read more From the start, the staff was incredibly welcoming and informative. We were greeted with welcome cocktails (we get to mix it ourselves!) plus snacks and wine pairings throughout the meal. The setting was very intimate, and everyone got to interact and participate like a group project while making the empanadas together. (I learned to cut onions correctly..) We learned about the food, some history, and had a great time chatting with fellow guests around us. What I really appreciated was how accommodating they were with dietary restrictions. Whether you're vegetarian or have dairy restrictions like I do, they truly work with you with food substitutes.. When we made empanadas, the chef even prepared a separate dough with olive oil instead of butter for 2 of us that didn't want dairy.. and the desserts were made dairy-free as well. Quite impressive. It felt like a full five-course meal. The hands-on part was making the empanadas, while the chef handled the entrees rest of the way with steaks and veggies. (Don't think anyone was complaining about that). Overall, great food, great conversations with our group and the people around us, and time flew by.. Awesome experience from start to finish. 5/5.

Perfectly cooked and learned from a friend you're supposed to give the empanadas a light shake to get all the inner juices going. The meat and cheese empanada was my favourite. Ordered the ossobuco (one of their recommended dishes) as my main and it did not disappoint! You cannot get this quality for this price anywhere in the US. Ossobuco with polenta was about $12 USD and I'd go back and eat it weekly if I could. Go check this place out!

To start, the empanadas are absolutely delicious and I highly recommend them. The menu otherwise was quite rich. We got the Milanesa, and the Ossobuco on polenta. I found the Milanesa to be a touch on the greasier side than I am used to, but it was delicious! And the Ossobuco on polenta was quite rich, especially with the bone marrow - I had a hard time finishing this, but I highly recommend it. The portions are quite large, so sharing dishes is probably not a bad idea. I am also pleasantly surprised by the cocktail scene of Argentina, especially Buenos Aires! There was a spicy version of a Negroni on the menu that the staff warned me about but I kind of took it as "they probably mean it's a strong drink" But NOPE - it is actually spicy! As a spice lover this was really interesting, but not for everyone. The ambiance of the dining area was quite interesting with photographs and memorabilia. If I had one little advice for the restaurant, maybe fix up the bathrooms a little bit. Peron Peron captures the essence of Buenos Aires in a way that may be a bit controversial, but the food is definitely worth the trip!
