Port 53 Restaurant!
Soooo disappointing! Lunch with 13 ladies - most of the food very good, but the service! Ugh! I know they were short staffed (as usual) but really...Not even so much that as the petulant attitude of our waitress. Asked twice to turn down the world-shattering screechy music so we could converse. The first time turned down, the up again. The second time was informed by the young lady that our ears would get used to it!!! Eyeballing competition, turned down slightly, then back up again. There were only 2 other diners in the place and no wonder. This is a tourist town, and some of us work in the industry. Guess which restaurant will NOT be recommended to visitors? Also the placing of the long table with one side facing the glaring daylight-couldn't it have been placed sideways for the comfort of the customers? Impossible to see the faces of your opposite numbers. Our group has attended this venue once before when we had an even worse experience. We thought they deserved another chance, but never again. Why accept group bookings when you cannot cater sufficiently? By the way, the lecture about why we were not allowed to have strawberries in our champers - NOT APPRECIATED! Just a hint for staff training...... read more
