What a GEM this wine bar is!!!! Been open for almost a month, and this place may have found a new home! The wife and I went to finish some holiday grocery shopping nearby, and on the way back, she was giving direction to a place that I had no idea of where she was taking us. I kept thinking where is she directing me? We pull up in the drive, and BAM! Pop's Wine Bar. The place was empty, and maybe we hit it just as they opened, but no sooner did we find a table, people were beginning to pile in. We ordered a red blend from our native state of Washington. Charles & Charles from Columbia Valley, WA. Such a perfect wine for not dry or too sweet. Perfection in my book. We had asked for about the Baked Goat Cheese, and she recommended the marinara sauce. WHOA!!!! I have never had that combination before but it was pure heaven on my pita bread. A perfect pairing of wine and cheese. On top of that, we had met this couple from WA, and struck up a very lovely conversation about TX, and how welcoming and amazing our experiences have been so far. We love this place and will definitely be coming back for more "getaway time." The atmosphere is not formal but has that eloquent vibe with its charm of simplicity. The kitchen makes you feel at home. We also chatted it up with the owners and got to know a bit more about them and the parents. As always, Enjoy, Happy Holidays, and Happy new adventures ahead!!

My fiancé and I were in town for a wedding and were looking for somewhere to have some drinks. We came across Pop's Wine Bar and the great reviews and decided to give it a try. We were welcomed by the owners immediately. We received great recommendations on some wines to try. We also decided to get a charcuterie board, which was prepared for us in their open kitchen! They had so many options to choose from and everything was delicious! We highly enjoyed our time and the great conversation with the owners. We will definitely stop by the next time we are town!

My hubby and I were out running some errands and I spotted this new wine bar, just had to stop in and give it a try... so glad we did. It has a casual but elegant vibe to it. We were the first customers to flow in as they opened up. A handful of people followed shortly after. Most giving this wine bar a first time try. Made new friends as we enjoyed our wine. The owners/staff are very friendly and shared their story. The love of wine was passed from granddad to son to grandson. Although granddad has since passed, father and son opened this wine bar in "pop's" honor. My recap is just a summary, they are happy to share their story. Although they do offer more than wine, my husband and I enjoyed a recommended red blend, Charles & Charles. A deliciously smooth red wine. Perfect for an early afternoon glass of wine. We enjoyed our wine with an appetizer that was also recommend, warmed goat cheese topped with marinara sauce, with pita bread. Sounds questionable, but boy was it delicious! Definitely having it again. This will be a regular treat for me. I recommend stopping in and giving Pop's a try. Alone time, with friends, spouse, or a causal date, I believe you will enjoy Pop's.

Great atmosphere, very clean and super friendly staff! Now, the important stuff: the food. We started by sharing a wedge salad, complete with bacon, blue cheese dressing, blue cheese chunks (yum!) and all the crispiness a wedge brings. Very fresh and the dressing was a clue cheese lover's dream. Had the pickle ranch wings and the chicken club sandwich with broccoli cheese soup on the side as our entrees. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Now, here's what you should absolutely order if you go here. Do not skip the pretzel with a side of beer cheese or the desserts. The pretzel is like the old Auntie Anne's pretzels in the mall years ago - only a thousand times better!! I will never come here and not order this again every single time. If you like huge, fluffy, salty, crispy on the outside pretzels, this is THE place to get them!! 10 out of 10! For dessert, we got the trio dessert (can't remember the name), but it came with 3 different skillet cookies, topped with ice cream and whipped cream and it was sinful how good they were! We got the chocolate chunk, the caramel and the strawberry shortcake. No words. Just drool. Lots of drool! I can't wait to come back and try their burgers, steaks and pizza - they looked so good too as I watched them being carried out to other tables. They have an extensive menu so you will not have a problem finding something you like. Shout out to our server Devin - she was fantastic, very helpful, kind and very attentive to all of our needs and special requests! Bartender Todd was also amazing and so friendly! The manager even stopped by our table to ensure we had a great experience. We definitely did! I'm so impressed with the service and food here at BJ's - I think it's my new favorite place in Tyler! Thanks for a GREAT dining experience!!

The family had pazookie's for desert. I was too full to get one. They had some cool techno music playing over the speakers. The lights were dimmed very nicely. Our waiter was awesome. Super cool guy was working the bar as well. Very knowledgeable about their beers and some others that compare nicely. I also had a drink called the lucky ducky. It comes in a little bathtub with a yellow duck floating in it. It was super tasty. We were so full that we were miserable. lol I'm a good way. We will all be back. I also bought the lucky ducky bath tub to take home without the drink of course.

Food & band deserved more, but service and billing ruined the experience…read more This was both our first and last visit to this establishment. Don't get me wrong--the food itself was great once everyone finally received their meals, and the live band was absolutely phenomenal. We came in with an open mind as a family of four and really enjoyed the atmosphere and music. There was a mix-up early on when we were told there wasn't enough steak for everyone to order what they wanted. We were understanding and chose different menu items instead. When the food came out, my youngest son's burger was missing. Followed by being served another tables burger - resulting in it being taken back. He had to wait an additional 25 minutes before finally getting his meal. On top of that, my sides were incorrect. When I asked for the fries I had originally ordered, the waitress came back and somewhat just flopped them onto the table. After finishing our meal, my husband and I took a moment to agree on a proper tip. We wrote it in clearly, added it to the total, and left the bill for the waitress to pick up. We stayed well over an hour afterward enjoying the band, but she only came back to our table twice to check on us. Later, when we checked our bank statement, we noticed we had been charged a different amount than what we had written. I called to ask about the discrepancy and was told that the tip amount we knew we had written was "clearly" something else. I was told I could come down to collect the difference, followed by, "What do you want me to do about it?" I was also told it was her first night alone on the floor, and if I was "insinuating she changed it, she didn't." It was a horrible way to end what could have been a really enjoyable evening. The food was great, the band was amazing, and the staff at the bar were friendly --but the repeated issues and the tip modification left the worst taste in our mouths. We won't be returning. My only recommendation for those who do go: bring cash.
