Another thing is no response when it comes to issues going on within the school. I've accepted this and although my child has been here 2 years they will no longer be attending IDEA. My child has gotten worse academically since starting here. Also, it's pretty much impossible to get your child on any sport team unless your child has been going to the school for years and years. My child was like a pariah here and wasn't wanted in any sports or afterschool activities. They would tell my child that I'd have to go and apply for the clubs then when I would go they would tell me the child would have to go which made me believe that they just did not want them in there. Think long and hard before bringing your child to this school. Also, if your child isn't perfect As and no issues don't even bother with this school. I don't know what would help to improve because this school needs so much help. Good luck to anybody who chooses this school to send their child to!

Very grateful with her teacher and the tremendous job she is doing . My 5 th grader is also improving in all his classes, thanks to his teacher who is helping him in his weak areas. Honestly I cannot be more greatful of what my husband and I can see in the academic level this school offers. Overall great school, excellent academic level, and love the staff.

12/14/22 I don't quite understand the one other review for…read morethis school. Reads like it was written by a drunk. Anyway... I'm writing about the school festival held this day. It was fun! Tickets sold in dollar increments. Food and drink items ranged from 1 to 3 or 4 tickets. Sodas, water, ice cream, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, frito pie, corn in a cup, tamales, nachos, hot chocolate. I'm sure I've missed stuff. Each grade sold something. Santa (my sisters brother -in-law) was there available for free pictures. The festival was held from 3:30 to 6 pm. Plenty of time. My nephew attends the academy and my sister was running around like a crazy woman. A joy to behold! Ha, ha.

We live directly across the road from this elementary school. Our son is in kindergarten there…read more They are using a bind issue now to build a newer more updated school. It hasn't been a treat listening to construction start at 7am every morning. However the end result will be well worth it. There will be an athletics field and a two story schoolhouse. As a poorer, slightly run down part of town, it nice to see money being spent in good ways. The young children in this area deserve a nice elementary school to go to.

The children actually learn through crafts, reading, educational centers throughout the classroom, and follow a fun routine each day. All the families get to know each other on a personal level, as Mrs Arleen has been trusted by many families for generations. Although my son is 8yrs old now, he still has great memories from this place. He calls it "his little school!" My husband and I have nothing but warm memories from this Wonder Woman, who helped us with the first years of raising our child!
