Being out on the water gave us a completely different perspective of the surrounding landscape. The pace was relaxed, giving us time to laugh, talk, and enjoy the experience together. It ended up being one of those rare outings that genuinely brought our group closer. Everything was thoughtfully organized. The equipment was in excellent condition, the guides were professional and friendly, the gear guide and instructions were clear, and the entire experience felt effortless from start to finish. Some of us were first-timers, while others were seasoned paddlers, and the guides made everyone feel comfortable and confident from the start. Every person in our group had a wonderful time. By the end of the day, new passions had been sparked, and we were already planning to get back on the water. Whether you're visiting the Hudson Valley or have lived here your whole life, I can't recommend Storm King Adventure Tours enough. It's the kind of experience that reminds you to slow down, find peace, be present with yourself, appreciate where you are, and enjoy the people you're with. We didn't reserve any stand up paddle boards but we were greeted by a friendly college student who got us out on the water quickly. We boated under the bridge and saw a man made dam before heading over to the sand bar where our kids splashed around and played in the mud. We had kids as young as 6. If you're just paddling, I think 1 hour is enough but if you want to stop and play on the sandbar then 2 hours. Great time with a great business.

We (two adults and two young kids) rented a canoe and a double kayak on the Croton River on a…read morebeautiful fall day. It was a wonderful slice of nature, which looked and felt a lot more remote than It was (there was a bit of highway noise on the lower half of the river). The equipment was in great shape, and the staff helpful and friendly. We went close to high tide, and were able to make it about a mile and a half before the river became too shallow. The staff member said one could do that in about 45 minutes, but with kids, an hour was more reasonable. The two and a half hour rental was a perfect amount of time, as that allowed us to proceed leisurely, explore some of the little nooks on the edge of the river, and take time for the all important snack break. All in all this was a wonderful experience, and we all can't wait to do it again.

And he goes like nothing wrong with the equipment it's moving. I requested to call the manager to look at the camera to actually see that the equipment was not even working, then Zack replied and I requested to replace the equipment only he's like oh ok just send us an email and we will see what we can do. This is the worst paddling I have ever been to.

My girlfriend and I spent a few hours here on a Sunday afternoon in May. If you rent a boat you can keep it out as long as you want, and you have access to the whole property for the entire day. We spent awhile in kayaks and had the whole lake to ourselves for the entire time. We then spent some time down at the swimming hole and had that to ourselves as well. Everyone who works there was incredibly friendly and helpful. Beautiful day overall and the perfect end to a perfect weekend getaway.
