We are from LA, wanting a taste of home. Last night we had sandwiches, so this was our night to splurge. We had looked over the menu online, were starving, and we were going to have appetizers, entrees, beers, coffee, and dessert. We figured we would spend 80-100 euros.
So it was raining, and we got there 10-15 minutes before opening. The "hostess" did not look happy to see us. We told her we knew we were early, and she interrupted with a sarcastic "yes, you are." We asked if we could wait inside, since it was raining, and she made a face, shrugged, and walked away.
She went about going in and out of various rooms, ignoring us. At 5:07 (they open at 5), we got up and left. It was very insulting. When we have arrived early at other restaurants, we have been seated, asked what we wanted to drink, and told it would be a few minutes until we could order. Understood. We were obviously not Dutch, obviously wet and cold. Did she ever hear of hospitality? Making patrons feel at home? Or...just being nice? They lost about 100 euros of business. We would not recommend this business. read more
