Poplar DLR Station is a key hub on the DLR network and acts as an interchange for 3 of the 6 lines, meaning it's one of the busiest stations on the network with multiple platforms for different services. It is located right next to a central DLR depot, meaning you can often see parked up trains going in/out of the station.
The station is partially sheltered, obviously, it was a nice place to be on a warm, sunny day in London (which is rare) - this is pretty common for most DLR stations though.
I also liked how the station gave advance notice of a platform change due to some work going on at the station, even a week before it was due to happen.
One of my favourite DLR stations for ease of access, lines and overall view/feel of the station as it is pretty modern indeed! It's also only 2 minutes away to Canary Wharf on the Canary Wharf-Stratford line, where you can easily connect onto Jubilee Line services for London Underground and there are also many shops and restaurants, in a cool part of the city. 4* read more
