A simple 2-platform tube station, perched on the line between zones 2 and 3, Bromley-by-Bow has nothing to offer to the travelling passenger.
There are a couple of benches on each platform. No food, no drink, and little light. Going up the steps at the single exit brings you face-to-face with speeding traffic on the A12 highway. Not fun, and not pleasant to walk along.
There is a single ticket office, which isn't manned at all times.
In late 2007, a WWII bomb was discovered nearby. Thankfully it didn't go off.
The picture I've added shows it while still being under renovation. I haven't been to see it since early 2008, so it may have gotten a few updates.
The District and Hammersmith and City lines pass from it, and even though it does end up cut off from a direct route to the centre on most weekends, there is always one of the 2 lines functioning. read more
