This business, which is not the one I was directly interested in, replied to my quote immediately via email. The response repeated some of the information I gave in the quote request, assured me they would be the right people for the job, and asked me to call the number listed on the page here. Despite the one-star rating, I decided to give it a chance and see what happened. When I gave them a call, a man answered the phone and gave the company name he worked for, which was not Shadyside Lawn Services. I didn't quite catch the name, and should have asked the man on the other end to repeat it if I'd had any presence of mind, but instead I asked him if they were the same business as Shadyside Lawn Services, already in doubt. He told me that he could get me in contact with "a lawn service" if that's what I needed, but that the business he worked at was not a lawn service in and of itself. It was difficult to bring the conversation to an end and hang up after trying to explain that I must have gotten a wrong number or made a mistake, but he wasn't impolite or rude, just persistent.

If I'm hiring them to cut the grass weekly, I expect them to be there to cut the grass weekly, sometimes it's at least 10 days until they even show up, and I'm having to call/text asking where they are. If paying for the every 10 days, they sometimes don't show up for 2 weeks. There has been less than satisfying excuses every time. There's never anything offered to please the customer to potentially try to make up for what they didn't do correctly, which IMO, is poor customer service. When they actually do show up and cut the grass, there's always stray grass strands standing up throughout the yard and doesn't look like the best job is done with the trimmer along the edges. The only thing that is fair, is the price per cut (but if it's done correctly). I most likely would not hire again for another year.
