This was such a fun stop. It's listed as a candy shop - which it is but the popcorn should be the main draw. My friend who I was visiting had heard about this place and we were both so glad we stopped here. The owners are the nicest people - and the popcorn station - the do samples but it's also a presentation with explanations of some of the feature flavors. This guy takes his business serious and presents very well. I wanted to leave with more popcorn than I would normally eat, but i did leave with a package of three flavors and they were so good. Popcorn Pit Stop is a hidden gem in Leavenworth. I just happened to go there after being given a free popcorn coupon at my hotel. Upon walking in I was welcomed with a warm smile by the owners who are husband and wife. The store has more than just popcorn with candy from all childhoods. Think of that candy you enjoyed as a kid and they have it! They have tons of popcorn--not just your basic butter or cheese. Again, think of a flavor and they have it. Rodney took the time to allow me to try over 20 flavors. He really took the time to talk to me and made sure I knew about their process and the allergens that were in each flavor. You could tell that they really care about the product they are selling and they care about who they are selling to! My two favorites were the sour cream and cheddar and the kettle corn. I like that the sour cream and cheddar was savory and salty and was simply delicious! The kettle corn was not too sweet or salty; and did not taste artificial, which I found was the case with many commerical kettle corn brands. Popcorn Pit Stop is worth a stop or two when the area; and they ship worldwide as well. Yes, the prices are a little high, but it is worth it as the popcorn is amazing and made in house! read more

What a gem!!! Y'all I had no idea this little business tucked away on a side road was hiding so much! I had been meaning to stop in since we moved to the area this summer, and I almost always drove by on a Tuesday when they are closed. I popped in this week to get a few Christmas gifts, and wow. This place did not disappoint. I spent nearly 30 minutes with the owner as he went over every flavor they have in stock, letting me sample rack of the (it was at least 25 different flavors!), and explaining their process and ingredients. They have everything from transitional movie theater butter to Chicago mix to Sun Chips Garden Salsa (the flavor is almost an exact match!) to at least a dozen fruity flavors. You can combine any flavors you like to make a personalized mix. I can't wait to come back and mix up some fun combos for myself. Oh and I forgot to mention- they also have a huge selection of candy which includes unique and nostalgic offerings and a large Harry Potter themed section! read more

Absolutely loved our experience at Popcorn Pit Stop. The owners were so incredibly sweet and went through the entire popcorn "flight" with us. The popcorn was so spot on with flavors and had such fun, unique flavors! The candy selection was also very cool and perfect for Christmas stocking stuffers. OMG! The popcorn here is fantastic. Forget the candy flavored popcorn, go for the cheesy, the dilly (pickle flavor I get it every visit), the loaded potato is great. Only one MAJOR issue, I eat it too fast, 2 number 5 bags don't last the weekend. read more

We recently moved to Leavenworth and I was delighted to stumble over the Popcorn Pit Stop today. What I expected to be a fairly standard trip to a small store turned into a genuinely wonderful experience! The owners are friendly and they clearly love what they do! They took my husband, our kids, and me through a taste testing journey from savory to spicy to sweet, telling fun stories along the way. What a pleasant find! I was looking for some unique gifts as we enter the holiday season, and Popcorn Pit Stop will be among them. We tried some sample bags of popcorn and ended up quickly buying larger ones of some flavors. The flavors that stood out to us were "Chief's Chili Cheese" and "White Cheddar" which had a really perfect flavor profile. As a gift or holiday item, these flavors stand out as a way to celebrate the local community and I don't know if I would stop eating the Chief's Chili Cheese popcorn! read more

This shop met and exceeded my expectations. I absolutely love it. I don't live in Leavenworth but will start making it a go to when I come visit. Their candy selection is incredible. They have all sorts of goodies,anything you could think of. Perfect for gift giving,parties, and events. I LOVED every flavor I tried. They were spot on. I tried Sonic Burger, Godfather, Dilly Dilly, Beer Can Chicken, salted caramel, apple pie something. Pumpkin something. Everything was wonderful and nothing was artificial tasting, overly salty, or overly sweet. Perfect flavors. All fresh and delicious. I thought the prices were very reasonable on the popcorn, and really everything I took home. In the whole metro this is the top place. Better than when we had Popcorn Heaven in Westport, and I like it better than the popcorn place in Parkville. Everyone I talked to was very helpful and pleasant. Don't trust any of the disgusting and petty negative reviews you may see, this place is a true gem! read more

I went in for movie theater butter popcorn. I received butter flavored seasoning popcorn in a small highly over priced bag. It was EXACTLY like dollar tree popcorn but dollar tree bags are five times bigger. This place is fun for candy. It is worth the extra mile to go to Topsys for real butter popcorn popped in front of you and the butter is put on in front if you.
