Decent ice cream, great concept is the best way to summarize Melt Box…read more Our PTA hired Melt Box to come out and help us celebrate the last day of school and Melt Box set up at a nearby park for families to enjoy some ice cream and kids to run around and kick off summer. Honestly the flavors were pretty good, but IMO there is better ice cream in KC. I do want to try them again though, it was a rainy/chilly day and I had to wait in line for about an hour so all of that likely impacted my whole experience. Something I really love about this concept though is that for your price you get two free toppings and a sauce, which I think makes them stand out and was a huge hit with my kid!

I was able to taste test the cold brew first which was very distinct, strong and concentrated flavor. Now I did follow his recommendation for my scope, Iced Latte Da. First sip took me back so I had to ask for a bit of chocolate syrup (not complimentary) and I appreciated the adaptation. Allowing the ice cream to melt a bit made it more palatable. I'd get the float again!

I was first introduced to Christopher Elbow Chocolates a few Christmases ago when a client sent me…read morea box as a gift. My first thought was that these might be some of the prettiest chocolates I had ever seen--and thankfully, they taste just as good as they look! When my husband and I started planning a trip to Kansas City, I discovered that Christopher Elbow Chocolates is based here AND that they offer a Chocolate Experience where you can learn about chocolate, their process and the company. At $20 per person for about 50 minutes, it sounded like a fun addition to our day. Hands down, it was totally worth it! We went on a Thursday and happened to be the only two people booked for our experience, so it almost felt like our own private chocolate tour. We met the manager, who was incredibly friendly, and honestly everyone we interacted with was welcoming and helpful. During the experience, we got to try drinking chocolate, melted chocolate and a salted caramel chocolate treat--and every single one was incredible. The presentation itself was very thorough, with beautiful photos and examples throughout. We learned a lot about chocolate, their process and the company, and they took the time to answer all of our questions. If you love chocolate, the Chocolate Experience is absolutely worth adding to your Kansas City itinerary. You get to learn about chocolate, taste some delicious samples and then, of course, shop for chocolates afterward. We definitely didn't leave empty-handed! It's a great place to pick up something for yourself or bring home a beautiful (and delicious!) gift for family and friends.

This is an amazing ice cream place. If I didn't like it so much, I would dock them a star because…read moreit does not seem like they hire enough workers for a busy weekend day. Poor staff member was all alone in the back taking orders from big parties, call-in orders, and app orders. He was working non-stop and I don't think that is a great thing about this place, since from the looks of it they can afford to hire more workers given the steady stream of customers (sometimes not so steady and sometimes just heavy). But the ice cream is freshly made and everything tastes as it should -- strawberry ice cream tastes like fresh strawberries, flavors are super creative, and the sundaes have a mix of the flavors with special toppings like nuts and cream. The place also has little games to keep the kids busy and just a nice variety of ice cream, boba, shakes, and drinks. Overall, we can see why our family highly recommended this place to us and why it's a staple in the area. The ice cream is amazing!

I got a regular, which was two scoops and the girl behind the counter let me try as many flavors to figure out what I wanted. I got one scoop of sea and sand, and one scoop of a horse with no name and it was absolutely delicious! The girl working there said they make everything by hand there. I would definitely go back and definitely recommend!

My husband and I love eating at farm to table restaurants. After finding this place online, we…read moredecided to try it for lunch. The restaurant is very cozy and rustic. The employees were friendly. We both ordered the lamb burger, which consists of two smashed lamb patties, homemade pickles, American cheese, caramelized onions, and mayo on a buttery potato bun. For our sides, we ordered the macaroni and cheese. One downside is there aren't very many drink options to choose from. I'll start with the burger. My burger was greasy. The smashed patties tasted burnt and, on the patty's edges, were crispy, black...I don't know what to call them, but they tasted like the leftover bits from the grill. When I tried my husband's burger, his tasted better and, for the first time in our married life, I asked if we could trade. The macaroni and cheese is spiral pasta with white cheddar sauce and sprinkled with shredded Parmesan. It was okay, but definitely needed seasoning. When we got home, we both had upset stomachs, which were enough to say we won't be returning.

I opted for two truffles, an Oreo and a Cherry Smash, and let's just say they lasted about two minutes after I left the shop, ha! Both were totally delicious. My mom, who was with me, chose a package of peanut butter candy (similar to fudge) which was also amazing. I'll definitely be back to try other items - they had some pretzel bark that looked a-mazing. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and her daughters and enjoyed speaking with them about their business. Definitely stop in and check them out when you're in the area! They have limited hours right now, but it's well worth the time out of your Saturday.

When I checked out, the woman told me that she didn't have the pennies to find me change…read more There was no sign around the register stating that change would not be found for customers or that pennies were on shortage. She did not notify me verbally of this prior to me paying in cash (which I did to avoid the 4% credit card fee). That's essentially theft. You can't keep money just because you're short. If pennies are so inconsequential, then give back the customer a nickel instead. I bet business would put up a huge fit if the customer asked them to just take less than what they're owed. Not only that, when I paused in taking the cash, the woman then goes into the till and says, "I have ONE penny." So... essentially you lied first about not having any pennies, and you're still short on giving me my change. Can you imagine taking your grandma/nona's $5 to the candy store, then coming back with a receipt that you spent $1 but don't have the rest of her change to return? Absolutely not.
