While my attention was divided, unauthorized money was sent from my phone through my banking app/Zelle. The scam also involved a "Three Card Monte" style game where they encourage you to pick a card and claim they will double your money if you guess correctly. I did not participate in the game or allow them to give money to my child. After everything happened, I was informed this reportedly occurred multiple times today at Sheetz.Approaching women with children to play. Giving the children dollars What was especially alarming is that after the incident at Sheetz, the same group appeared to move to the TJ Maxx parking lot area and continued targeting other women. While there, another woman came up screaming and stated they had stolen $1,800 from her the week before. One individual was a Black male with dreads wearing multiple chains/jewelry. Another was a light-skinned male wearing a yellow worker-style safety vest. There was also a Caucasian male wearing blue shorts. Female Mexican skinny dark hair . They were seen leaving in a black sedan and a white van with the license plate WAH-- 1753 or 1810 The phone numbers used during the interaction were 336-925-3422 and 336-471-2370. They also appeared to spread themselves throughout the gas station near pumps 4-9 and pump 6. For confidential reasons, I cannot disclose all specifics involving my minor child, but I will say children were present during this interaction, which made the situation even more concerning. I truly tried to do the right thing by helping someone I believed was in need of emergency assistance, and this situation left a very sour taste in my mouth. Please do NOT hand strangers your unlocked phone, even if the story sounds urgent or believable. This was my fault . I also reported this to law enforcement, and I was informed this type of tactic is commonly associated with gambling/distraction scams. Also, to the woman who was screaming, recording, and saying she had also been scammed -- if you happen to be in this group, thank you so much for helping by recording and for calling the police. Shoutout to the Sheetz managers and TJ Maxx staff as well. Unfortunately Sheetz did not have security on duty during the daytime . Please stay alert, ladies, and keep your children close. I have already reported this to the appropriate agencies. Sharing this so other women and families stay safe.

Well, I am still angry about the affront to good taste levied by them against the entire southern United States when they took away fresh brewed tea, and put "Gold Peak" in its place. McDonald's has since scooped up the honor of my quickie tea, and probably that of others. This has cost Sheetz more than just the price of a tea... it has led to less fill-ups, snacks, everything. It all makes sense. The cafe area being near where you order, and also where you'd stop for a quick sit to eat. The counters for food and coffee both look very attractive. The staff here is new, but very pleasant as they get used to their new jobs. There is a beer cave at this location, and of course the requisite walls of canned and bottle bevvies. Plenty of snacks for your taste, lots of coffee, and the aforementioned "made to order" food items. On this day, it was a strange time of day, and I had not had a thing to eat. I didn't want to totally spoil dinner a few hours later, so I wanted a cheap snacky value meal thing. Their hot dog combo is very plain, but reliable. It now comes with two (very small, but not quite mini) hot dogs, 5 chicky nuggies because they do that now, and a very small fry... plus a fountain beverage. That's a deal at 5 bucks but you dont get to customize anything. You'll get mustard and ketchup on the hot dog like a child, sorry if you like anything else. No customization. The food was hot and fast, and tasted decent, which is absolutely the ceiling of my expectations here. This location is very near my house, and I would visit much more often if SHEETZ WOULD BRING BACK FRESH BREWED TEA.

So, not only did I spend more time than usual trying to fill up, but I didn't even leave with a full tank because the pump kept shutting off. I had to try and guess when my tank was close to full. I also had to be careful not to overfill it (because overfilling/topping off is damaging to cars). I used pump #8. I heard the guy that was using the pump on the other side of me (behind pump #8) and the guy who pulled up behind me both complain that their pumps were slow too. Something was wrong. I chose to fill up here because it's conveniently located just off I-85 at exit 124 (South Elm-Eugene Street), on the south side of the Greensboro Urban Loop. A lot of Murphy Express locations are close to Walmart Supercenters. There's a Walmart just on the other side of the interstate from this location. Murphy Express is part of the larger "Murphy USA" chain. Most Murphy USA gas stations are located adjacent to Walmart stores. "Murphy Express" locations are bigger and more like traditional gas stations and convenience stores. This location has 24 pumps, so it's sizable. During our visit on an ordinary Sunday around noon, this place was busy. I was lucky to find an open pump right away. Some people had to wait. Maybe there were a lot of cars because the pumps were slow. The gas prices were OK. This is Murphy Express store #8553.
