I tried this place after years of eating Pizza Hut. This is a local place in Clover. I ordered the garlic cheese bread, and it was the size of a whole pizza. They were absolutely delicious. Not greasy at all. I ordered the calzone, and it was huge! I had no idea it would be so big. It was completely stuffed with toppings, and it was delicious as was the marinara sauce that came with it. The calzone was not greasy at all. The sweet tea here is also very good. The wait staff are very friendly and polite. I would highly recommend Pop Pops if you are looking for a local pizza place. read more

The food was amazing! Especially for a small town pizza place. The atmosphere is a little strange but in a good way lol the staff was so kind to my family, especially my 3 little guys. They chatted with us most of our meal, more like we were at their home than in a restaurant. The pizza is great but the service is probably just about the worst we've had. Every time we call for a pick up order, the vibe on the phone is "why are you calling?" Almost like our business is an inconvenience to them. When you go and pick it up, it's rare that they turn around from the TV and look you in the eye. If your pizza isn't ready yet and you ask them how long until it's ready (because it's already longer than what they told you), they just say "soon" with no expression . It's honestly a wild experience because they seem like they hate all their customers. Again, great pizza just hate going there. read more

Tasty subs, tasty skinny fries and good sweet tea. Refills not offered and staff seemed distracted. The drink station says "not self service ", well it was today. Clean and cute decorations on the wall. The sub bread was excellent and we had the pizza sub with pefect amount of melted cheese. read more

Read my reviews and you'll see that I am a big pizza guy. I shy away from the well known chains most of the times and love trying new places, small places, and especially those one off places. Tonight Pop Pop's fit the bill just fine so that what was on the menu and I called in an order to pick up. I ordered the all meat pizza and added some olives and onions to kick it up. The lady on the phone was extremely nice and asked if I wanted to add breadsticks. I didn't but she informed me that I could get the same pizza with breadsticks for less than the pizza alone. Sounds like one hell of a special to me so I thanked her and went with that. Glad I did because the breadsticks were awesome. Warm soft sticks with a delightful garlic parmesan topping that was music to my mouth. I am sorry that I can't say the same for the pizza. Could've used more sauce and the toppings were so so. They didn't want to stay on the pizza either. So the pizza was a bit of a dissapointment but the people were friendly and the breadsticks were great. In fact the people and breadsticks were good enough for me to give Pop Pop's pizza another chance. Maybe it was just an off pizza night. read more

Not sure what the hype is about but what we had was pretty bad. We had a large meaty minus the sausage and the garlic cheese bread. Let me start by saying that if the food is good the price means very little to me. The pizza was extremely floppy and greasy. The bread was so salty it almost made my eyes cross and there were only 4 small pieces in the order....The pizza toppings were minuscule at best other than the extremely thin cheap pepperoni. We really wanted to like this place and have it be the go to for pizza due to there only being chain places near us. $23 for the large pizza and 4 pieces of bread, grossly overpriced for the quality and quantity. Dominos, Pizza Hut, papa J's and all the other chains including the dreaded little caesars are better and I mean that....Sorry not sorry. read more

I thought long and hard on where to rate this restaurant while I ate the pizza and breadsticks, and I decided on tree stars. The only gripe I have about this place is that their "Large" pizza is a bit of a misnomer. I would say it's more of a medium size. If I could have given a 4.5 stars I would have, but I won't be cruel enough to knock off a whole star for that. Especially with everything else this establishment has to offer. So to set the scene, my wife orders the food and I drive the 5 or 6 minutes to pick it up. The young lady who came out was very polite and nice, told me that I was still a bit early. I paid and waited only 2 or 3 minutes more until the food was ready and was promptly brought out to me. As soon as I saw it I was a tad bit let down by the size of the pizza box considering we ordered a large, but that disappointment was quickly dissolved whenever I caught a whiff of that pizza. It reminded me so much of one of my favorite pizza places as a kid. The aforementioned 5 to 6 minutes drive back home was a complete and utter torture fest as my mouth watered thinking of the destruction and hurt I was going to put on the pizza and breadsticks. I finally make it home and divvy out the slices and sticks between my wife and I. First, the breadsticks, they were thin and crispy in all the right ways. When the container was opened it was a feast for my eyes and nose. Then came the first bite. It practically melted in my mouth, and the accompanying marinara that came with the breadsticks was easily the best I have ever had. Just the right amount of seasoning. It almost reminded me of a mexican salsa made Italian due to it being chunky with small pieces of tomato and onion. I do not mean the salsa part as an insult either. It took the marinara to a whole new level and made each bite so much more. Not to mention I love to dip my pizza slices into marinara as well, and if you do this as well be overjoyed as with the breadsticks you not only get the marinara but you get a SECOND as well! Now that is insane in my opinion. I had enough for all of the breadsticks and for the pizza as well. After the breadsticks came the star of the show, the pizza itself. The sauce was amazing, the cheese, perfect, pepperoni, crispy. Everything just as I like it, and finally the crust. Normally my least favorite part of the pizza, so normally I split the crusts between my 3 dogs. Sadly, my dogs will only have kibble tonight. So how dare you Pop Pop's Pizza, you made my dogs suffer because you had to go and make an amazing crust. You should be ashamed of yourselves, starving my poor dogs. TLDR: Amazing pizza and breadsticks, if you can put away food and can eat a lot. Dont bother with the large unless it's just you. The food is so good there were no scraps for my puppers. read more

We were disappointed when the salads were brought out in a foam containers- plastic cutlery.. see picture.. veggies were cut so small you barely had any flavor from them.. Let me start by saying the food is great!!!! But for takeout. This is the absolute WORST service I have ever had! The woman walks up to our table after waiting almost 10 min looks at us and says what do you want? We then greated back with hi how are you to. She got our drinks and order and never came back the rest of our meal. Our drinks remained empty, we were never asked of we needed anything else and when trying to grab her attention she would obviously ignore us and other tables . My first time visiting today, and unfortunately my last time visiting. The pizza was great and our waitress was very attentive. The only issue was as I looked around I noticed there was political things posted everywhere. Yes, we get you love Jesus, Trump, and guns from all of the posters and stickers littered throughout the dining area...but I really like to escape all of that when I'm going out to public establishments to eat or shop. I too love Jesus, I respect gun ownership, not Trump so much-but, to each his own. I just find it inappropriate to have a sign in a restaurant that says here's what we stand for if you don't feel the same way leave. It's really okay to keep some of our personal things like religion and politics to ourselves...I promise. In closing, I do once again say the food was very good. read more
